This review is LONG overdue. This Taco Bell location is one of the BEST in the area. They stay open the latest and the staff is always kind and awesome! The food is always spot on. Only once was the order a tiny bit wrong, but when I returned it the manager was so apologetic and kind about it that he offered me another item for free! This place is always clean and efficient, which is not something always easily easy in a fast food place. This Taco Bell location always delivers the BEST! The workers all seem like they don't want to work here at all, and it reflects on their work. They rarely pay attention to customized orders, and they never add sauces/napkins with the orders even if asked to do so. They won't bother to actually listen to you and will talk over you as if they know what you are going to say, and still mess up your order somehow. They don't ever listen. Also do not go inside, ever lol. It smells FOULS in there like the atmosphere is unbreathable, other Taco Bell locations smell fine but this one has a toxic atmosphere all over, I wonder if they ever deep clean. Ordered food on the app. Get to location, to start employees see me arrive don't greet me or help me for about 3 or 4 minutes , I see drivers in the drive thru lane going in and out and I'm not getting my food. After about 10 minutes I get my food ask a worker, if my food is all there and how I order in the app she says yes with confidence, get home missing items and food is cold. Warning for your stomach AND your pocket!! This Taco Bell is probably the first Taco Bell ever made. The drive through is pitch black and you have to turn around at least 100 yards to order. When I was in high school, I had a very rich friend that was provided every opportunity to succeed, but was a complete failure in every way. That makes sad. I also had a friend that was much less fortunate with little opportunity to succeed, but he used the little resources he had to become an outstanding member of society. I really looked up to him. It's rare to see a kid pull himself up by his proverbial boot straps and become a positive presence in the community. He had my sincere respect. Now, I must admit, I went to a very rich high school and there were no poor kids. He was just a figment of my wild imagination. However If I had a poor, admirable friend in high school, I wish he could have been the Taco Bell in Lomita. Lomita is not typically my first choice for dining. Usually I feel like it's a good place for a new tattoo, maybe some rims, a nose piercing, but decided I would take a chance on a fast food taco concoction. I was really surprised when I walked through the front door of the Taco Bell in Lomita. It was like the employees....cared. I know that's a strong word for a Taco Bell and trust me, it was a weird feeling to have at Taco Bell. (Usually I have weird feelings 30 minutes after leaving Taco Bell) The decor was different than any other Taco Bell I've visited. It had a Motel 6 lobby vibe but was very clean. The colors of the restaurant were different, it had benches, and even a lounge area like a Starbucks where you could relax while you digested your encharito. It even had a charging station bar made from recycled wood from Azusa, California! How often are dead trees from Azusa imported to Lomita. I say never! We were the only people inside the restaurant, so we pretty much had our choice of seating. The manager came out several times to talk to us and make us feel welcome. The entire experience was enjoyable, much like you would expect from an overachieving friend that I never knew. As we left, a stray dog "from the streets"wandered into the restaurant. This is not uncommon in my poor friends neighborhood, but I wondered how he would handle it. Typically, when a dog goes missing at a Taco Bell, you figure there will be a promotion for "steak products" shortly after. Now, I've eaten dog at Korean restaurants, but I've never knowingly eaten dog in a Double Steak Grilled Cheese Burrito. I like dogs, and I like eating dogs, but honestly I REALLY like Taco Bell meat more. I don't know what it is but I'm pretty sure it's not dog. So they took the dog to the kitchen, held it down on the chopping table (where they prepare the 7 layer nacho fries), started the IV, and suddenly my friend ("the manager") stopped them. Now, I couldn't wait to see what would happened next, but the diarrhea was hitting fast and I needed to get home. I assume my friend did "the right thing". Overall, this was an awesome visit to my new favorite Taco Bell in the South Bay Area! I reconnected with a friend I never had and have a new imaginary story about eating dog, but I have so much more. I learned what it means to be a true friend. A clean friend without bugs. A friend that cares. A friend that gives what I demand from a restaurant. A friend that probably doesn't serve dog. I look forward to getting to know you better this holiday season, Taco Bell in Lomita. You put your rich, spoiled friend, Taco Bell on PCH in Torrance, to shame. I'm impressed with what you've done with so little, hope you get more customers, and eventually kill our mutual friend in Torrance and use his home to better our community. I see why this taco bell has an overall 2.5 stars. I'm only giving a 1 star because I needed to write this review. First I don't live in this area at all; I was in this area visiting a family member at the hospital and was heading home. Part of my order was a nacho bell grande with everything on the side. I get home and I have NO nacho cheese sauce, NO meat and to top it all off there is a BLACK-LIKE FIBER in my tomatoes! I'm pregnant, I was pissed. I had my husband call and he spoke to Joseph Mungia who stated he was a manager. My husband informed him of the issue, stated that we did not live in the area and asked for a refund of the nachos. I don't know what Joseph replied back with but my husband states we can't come back, if you are a manager I can give you my card information and you can refund me. Per my husband Joseph states he cannot do so because he is not authorized and goes on to state that there is no place that gives refunds over the phone. My husband asks for corporates number and Joseph states he does not know it and doesn't know where to find it in the store to give it to him. I get on the phone; I'm heated to be honest because it's the principle of the situation. Forget the nacho cheese sauce not being in the bag, forget the meat not being in the bag---THERE WAS A FIBER-LIKE SUBSTANCE IN MY FOOD! I ask Jess what her position is and she says she doesn't know. WHAT?!?! Okay, I'm like how is this taco bell being ran? I ask Jess who is the manager on duty, she says there is a main manager but they are not there. I ask what is the main managers name. She says Ronie. I ask if Ronie is a male or female she states male. I ask when will Ronie be back. Jess tells me he work every day of the week except for Sunday and Monday. Forget calling and talking to manager Ronie; I will definitely be calling corporate on Monday to report this incident with Joseph.
