When I worked in this area, Chile Verde on Sepulveda was a go-to for quick Mexican food at reasonable prices. It's nice to see things haven't changed! Seating is minimal in the dining room, but most folks get food to go. Ordered the potato taco special and it was just enough food for the amount of time we had. FOOD ===== CHILE VERDE PLATE - $10.99 Pork with green chile, served with rice, beans, and tortillas. The meat was pretty moist and tender, but the chile sauce was a bit salty. The red rice hardened tremendously and the cheese on the beans congealed after left untouched for an hour, a bit too processed for my personal taste. RATING: 3/5 FLAN - $2.49 I added this to my order and believed it was a homemade or restaurant-made flan. Nope, it was a Juan J's flan (see photo). I find it personally deceiving that they did not disclose this on the menu clearly. RATING: 2/5 OVERALL ======== Personally, not my jam. I know it's family owned, so I don't want to be harsh. Ordered thru door dash for a wet bean and cheese burrito (vegetarian as no lard etc) wet and a side of beans and cheese to make some nachos at home. I put notes to get some spicy salsa etc and it was all done correctly and food was excellent and the portions were huge. spicy salsa was very good. I placed an order for delivery to be delivered on October 25th at 2:45pm from this location. When I hadn't received the delivery, I called to follow up around 4:00pm. The team member I spoke to on the phone said she could not locate my ticket number so I said at this point, I would prefer a refund because the order was for a catering order for a party and the party was already in progress. I then emailed with the order # on October 27th and the manager never responded to my email. I called back into the store two days after to follow up and the team member said she would follow up with the manager to process the refund. I then called a week later, got another team member and she said she would flag for the manager, who said was not present because they only stop into provide change for the cash register. I called again two days later (several times) since it will say the number has been disconnected and usually after a few times, the team member will pick up. I followed up by email yesterday (Nov. 11th) and still no response. It has been 18 days and there has been NO response or resolution. This is extremely unprofessional, especially for a catering order totaling about $86, not just a simple lunch order or anything. Other Chile Verde locations have been wonderful but this location is the worst customer experience I have ever experienced. I am appalled at how bad business practice this is, and this is coming from someone who has worked in food & beverage / hospitality. The team members have been amazing but the managers have epicly failed this store. What is going on here??? read more

First off I love this chain, I know the family that started it and let's just say they won't be happy with what I have to say about this location. My family and I order 2-3 times a month from this location and despite the food being good the service is despicable. It's Friday night and an hour before closing time and the staff is already cleaning the beverage station and putting up chairs. Which sucks cause I had been calling to place an order for a little over an hour. As soon as I walked in the cashier immediately rolled her eyes at me like I was bothering her. Wanting Horchata for my drink, and seeing that they had already cleaned the beverage station i asked her if there's was any in the back so she could fill my cup (it was a to to order) and she rolled her eyes once again and talked to me with an tone as if I were annoying her she said there was none left and immediately picked up her phone and started to text, ignoring me. Being I'm in the restaurant industry for a decade plus, I know this is not how you talk or deal with customers. This girl is obviously privileged or just doesn't take her job seriously and this isn't the first encounter with her and her attitude. She clearly has a stick up her ass and doesn't have any business dealing with loyal customers or customers for that fact. However, this time, I damn near lost my tooth cuz of the damn taquitos! To say the least, I am in a lot of pain cuz I bit hard into one of them I heard a pop and felt instant pain. To my horrific surprise, there was a fucking THICK ASS TOOTHPICK inside the taquito. For many many years, I have been going here, because it's grown to be THE Carson Chile Verde. This particular Chile Verde is small. There's NO restroom for customers to use, but the parking lot is huge since it's in a strip mall that has a Wing Stop, Staples, Albertsons, Game Stop, etc. The food isn't bad if you want to eat inside or get it for take out. Their food trays are pretty cool too! If you crave a deep fried chimichanga, then this place has a great one when it's not too oily. Josh and Eddie are just a great example of the very very awesome, hard working people who treat their customers with super chill vibes and care every time I eat here. They have a television that plays random stuff from telenovelas, to sports. Their tacos are pretty damn great alternatives to other tacos out there because they are hard shelled like the ones at Taco Bell, but not as oily; they are fresher and I honestly love them wayyyyyyy better than Tito's Overrated Tacos!!!! You can get Chile Verde's tacos in chicken or ground beef versions. Their affordable and delicious Taco Tuesdays are awesome and it would be wise to call in and order ahead of time just in case it gets busy, which it usually does. I Love Chile Verde! Liz was so great and was ready with recommendations since it was my first time there. I got the quesotacos and they were soooo good. Next time I'll ask for light cheese since it had a little too much for my liking but regardless, such a delicious meal. I don't know why the ratings are so harsh. I feel like the demographic of people who go there are a lot older hence, why they likely wouldn't write yelp reviews. Very dissapointed in the decline of quality and consistency from this location, I've been ordering from this location for the last 4 years. It's always a hit or miss with them. Carne asada burrito meat was chewy and bland. They seem to almost always forger to add the shredded lettuce and tomatoes on the Taco Burrito. I never thought I would leave a review like this - ever. I have been going to this restaurant for about 5 years. My go to is the wet chicken burrito. It's 5:30pm on a Friday 10/18/2019 I called on the drive over like I normally do. I was placed on hold which is normal because Chile Verde is popular. However, I was placed on hold for over 9 minutes and was never able to have my order taken over the phone. I arrived to the restaurant, still on hold, and waited behind the 1 customer that was in line. I could see one employee (younger; name was Miresly) at the register, and another employee (older; unknown name) standing behind the counter in a doorway. The older employee was leaning against the doorway and talking on a cell phone. She was laughing and made a couple jokes that had Miresly laughing as well. When it was my turn, still on hold, I kindly informed Miresly that I was still on hold on the phone. She seemed surprised/embarrassed and apologized nicely. I told her it was unfortunate that I was on hold for that long seeing that her co-worker is talking on a cell phone (not a work phone). I placed my order and went to the bathroom. Upon leaving the bathroom the older employee was still on the cell phone. I did not get her name. She has a nose piercing. Food is mostly consistent. Customer service has declined. read more
