Staffs were friendly; I ordered via the Taco Bell app. You can claim a free birthday drink when you enter your birthday via the app and have the entire birthday month to claim it. There's lots of seating to sit and enjoy your meal however, the bathroom wasn't working when I went there that day.

I realize this is fast food. However that implies speed. I was in here around 5 Sunday. I ordered a spicy double crunch wrap. 20 minutes and questioning 3 people within that time starting at the 10 minute mark and I was about ready to demand a refund since I didn't have my food yet. Every time I asked I get really no verbal response, just a worker checking tickets. Finally near 25 minute mark I got it. The crunch wrap is like a hard shell taco inside a burrito flat wrap. By the time you eat it, there is no crunch.

One of the oddest experiences I have had at a Taco Bell. After a great Whitesnake concert at Irving Plaza, and a night of partying we were stumbling around and saw this Taco Bell/Pizza Slut location. Yes! Cheap Tacos and Bean Burritos off the value menu is always winning! Yes, decor is bland and on the edge of grimy. Suspect patrons are strewn around. At one table were a couple of homeless dudes, at another table was a guy in a tux and a girl in a cocktail dress and she was not too happy with him, at another table were a group of guys playing dungeons and dragons, and then there were few beat box kids hanging out. Nonetheless, digging into a bean burrito late at night when quite buzzed is still a joy after all these years. It never gets old. Tacos are still crunchy and tasty. Diet sierra mist too is a plus. I do have a theory though that everything Taco Bell makes is made out of the same thing. They just glop different concoctions of the same ingredients together, and presto!, a new menu item. As usual, the bathroom is another thing to behold. When the door is covered in graffiti, the top of the bowl is made of cardboard, and the dirty nastiness makes you not want to touch anything, you know you're not in a high-end restaurant for sure! Still, three stars for staying open late, and for the food for always tasting the same and being cheap in a pinch when you really crave it!

I have a Filling you've lost all respect for me.

I'm loca for Dorito's Locos Tacos. There, I said it. I'll understand if you've lost all respect for me. But I cannot tell a lie. The late Todd Mills, who apparently came up with the concept, and who, to my understanding, was never compensated for it, was a true junk food visionary if you ask me: Anyway, coming to this Taco Bell location every so often with the kid has become a tradition of sorts. We order a few Doritos Locos Tacos (well, duh) and indulge away. Hubby thinks I'm deranged and wants nothing to do with these little pig outs. But that's alright. That just means more Tacos for me and the kid.:) We're both partial to the Fiery Shells, though I wouldn't turn down Nacho Cheese or Cool Ranch. I once brought a friend here who'd been visiting from New Zealand, and after spending the evening drinking and snacking at various vaguely posh Union Square spots, we were still hungry. I suggested Doritos Locos Tacos. All she kept saying in between bites, which she inhaled fwiw, was, "Mmm.... This tastes really nice." Over and over again. So what else can I say? It's a Taco Bell.

    Look how crumbly.
    Kathryn B.

Pros: everyone is really nice. Sometimes they even tell me that my eyeshadow looks good. Cons: look at how crumbly these chips are. How am I supposed to dip these crumbs in my cheese sauce?

When you look at the bill and find out the cashier gave you a senior discount. Lmao!

We had our usual list of spots in Midtown East, but this time we wanted something a little different. We ultimately landed on Mexican, however even then there were several spots to chose from. One of my colleagues found CdM, and since we had nothing to lose we decided to check it out. In terms of physical space at CdM, there is very little; this is actually a walk-up spot hence it is solely a takeout restaurant. The menu is pretty straightforward - lots of Mexican staples with a good variety to choose from. The burrito bowl looked good so I decided to go with that - I was given choice of protein (I chose pastor) and types of beans (I chose black). The bowl was really good - all the ingredients tasted fresh and they were generous with the portion. They added sour cream to the top of the bowl and it came with a side of salsa verde which I thought was a nice touch. We also ordered some bags of tortilla chips to share - these were my favorite kind as they were semi-thick and super crunchy. Overall, I had a solid experience at Cinco de Mayo. It definitely hit the Mexican craving spot and I would have no qualms returning for another meal.

The birria tacos were really good (or so my son said) but sadly the taquitos were terrible. They literally just had unseasoned shredded chicken (but serves me right for ordering something so basic). The energy was flat, and that lack of enthusiasm carried right into the food. The menu needs a complete overhaul. I'm not sure if it's trying to be "different," but the taco options were unappealing just from reading the descriptions. I managed to choose the two best-sounding items I could find, and honestly, they were so bland I don't even remember what they were. The setup and decor were basic. This spot could be a fun hangout, but it would take a better menu and staff who actually seem to care. It feels like just another restaurant that's lost sight of creating an actual experience for guests. The lack of vibe is obvious--if you don't want customers, just say so. I'm giving 2 stars out of respect for the fact that people have to work for a living.

Although I had a reservation, I was instructed to go to the bar. Literally no home at the bar whatsoever. Granted I know Mexican restaurants tend to be super crowded for Cinco de Mayo but I was a party of one. I should have been seated outside at the very least. I had to drink my frozen Patron Margarita standing up until a space at the bar open up after 20-25 minutes. Once seated, my area wasn't properly cleaned. I felt awkward and uncomfortable. I reluctantly ordered fish tacos with mild guacamole but was given spicy guacamole. The fish tacos were a little cold. The service was rushed. I left without ordering another drink or more food. I was over it. This place isn't far from my employer so maybe I'll give it another chance on a random weekday.

I didn't see any but saw buckets for umbrellas. I opted not to leave it there since I didn't wanna forget or risk someone taking it. I took it upstairs with me. My friend had arrived and was seated. Apparently, they do offer sleeves because she got one. But the 3 people who were at the hostess booth failed to offer me one. The beautiful ambiance will get your attention immediately. It is a stunning space. The tableware was gorgeous as well. We waited for our last friend to arrive who was almost half an hour late before ordering (we thought she'd arrive sooner). Our server, Matias was gracious about it the whole time. What we ordered: Drinks: Passionfruit Margaritas & Mojito - we were happy with them. Tlayudas, Guacamole y Salsas - this was really good and a great option for the table to share. The homemade chips alone were excellent. Liked all the different dips. Guac could've used some cilantro and more acid/spice. Tán Ceviche - I loved this. Super fresh and great flavor. Could use a touch of acid. My entree was the Shrimp & Crab Enchiladas - This was pretty good. The sauce could've used some spice and some acid to cut through the richness. My friend ordered the Yellow Corn Soup as part of her meal and she did not like it. She said it was too sweet which I thought was strange. I tried a spoonful and I agreed with her. It needed a savory note and again, acid would've done wonders. Also, the crab was a bit fishy in this. She enjoyed her tamal though. I tried a touch of the sauce and it was delish. My other friend had the Quesabirria which she was also happy with. To sum up: Ambiance: 5/5 The space is undoubtedly gorgeous. Food: 4/5 Beautiful presentation on everything but each dish lacks an element or two to make it a home run. Staff: Wait staff 5/5. Downstairs staff (greeters/hostess) 4/5. Needs to be more on point like offering customers sleeves for umbrellas or pointing out the buckets to put them in. At some point through our entrees a group of 3 women were doing a 10-minute photo shoot by the stairway where our table was. Absolutely inappropriate behavior and a manager should've stopped it. Camera flashes all up in our faces while we're eating wasn't cool. Overall, still a great elevated Mexican cuisine option. The slight tweaks would make this a 5 star place for me. I'd return to try more things.

Personally, if it wasn't for the drinks and the space, I cant say this place is worth it - you're not coming here for the food. Another little complaint I have is the women's restroom on the second floor - right by the door is a floor to ceiling mirror which I understand was included to make the space seem bigger, but my friends and I agreed that it is a little misleading - I kept wanting to walk into it thinking there was more space there and not wall. I would recommend maybe putting a decal on it to clearly show its mirror.
