This Taco Bell has never really been kept very clean inside. Tables never get wiped down and the floor is always riddled with food. I came in today and as it turns out they've completely remodeled the inside. However, it's just as dirty. EVERY new table has bits of cheese, lettuce, and hot sauce. I know these guys and gals work hard making the food which is generally good on a consistent basis. However, the manager of this location (or the regional manager) needs to set and maintain standards of cleanliness! The staff will only do what management leads them to do. I visited the Taco Bell location in Ramona on Main Street yesterday evening about 6:00 pm. There was no one in the drive-thru, so I drove right up and ordered. It's important to state that no one was there, at least outside the restaurant, because the "too busy" excuse cannot be made to excuse the order taker/cashier's dishonest behavior. Although being a vegetarian, and still miss the 7-layer-burrito, I asked if they had anything similar to it The employee recommended "the Beefy 5-Layer Burrito" and said "we can substitute rice." I asked if it came with guacamole, like the 7-layer used to. He said no. I asked if he could substitute the guacamole and rice for the meat. He said yes. But he failed to tell me there would be a charge. "Substitute" is defined as a person or thing acting or serving in place of another. In other words, guacamole would be a replacement. If there was a charge, he should have said so. Instead, after paying I looked at the receipt and saw the charge for guacamole. It doesn't really matter if the charge was 90 cents or $90, I should have been told there would be a charge to replace the meat with guacamole. Lesson to be learned: Always be honest and upfront with your customers. When I confronted the employee about this, his only response was "guac is never free." Then why not say so in the conversation at the intercom? Although he failed to apologize for the misunderstanding, he did offer to remake the burrito without the guacamole that he originally had said could be substituted for the meat. Because I didn't feel like having the rest of the food order get cold, I declined. Visited 7/12/2017 I grew up on Taco Bell not knowing there was actually real authentic street tacos. To this day I still now and then get in the mood for the original chain crispy taco. This new store in Ramona is not a lot different than every other Taco Bell your visit. It's a little smaller and not a lot of parking but the food remains the same. You either like Taco Bell or you don't. The stock cheapie tacos were very tasty and crispy and the lettuce was crisp. I tried the sausage and egg breakfast flatbread taco. Sadly lacking flavor and also lacking any sausage that I could taste I highly do not recommend these. The service on this day was quick and friendly. Not much more I can say about it. I had to run out my car to get some thing and they had locked me out because it was 9 PM. This Taco Bell never ever gets our order correct. We have a kid that can't eat chicken and one that loves chicken and every time we order one cheese quesadilla and one chicken, we get both chicken. The manager is a spazz so we don't even go to her anymore to make it right. They can be a little hard to get in and out if, but not nearly as bad as the one on Poway Road. My only real issue with this place is their inability to get orders right. So I went to Taco Bell Ramona location. Placed my order and when I got to the window was advised the wifi was down so they had to split my order into 2 separate transactions. Then I got my food was all set to enjoy dinner and of course I was missing 2 chalupa's. i had ordered 2 chalupa combos. so i go back and advised them the mistake they check my reciept and make the 2 missing chalupa's, i thanked them and said i guess i get to eat a cold dinner now. when i got home the order was cold ok maybe lukewarm. Finally! Another dining choice in Ramona - even if it is only fast food. I routinely dive down the hill to Poway to eat due to the poor restaurant choices up here. Nice to have a Taco Bell up here now. They just opened on 12/27/2016. Apparently the Subway next to K-Mart used to be a Taco Bell. Hopefully this one will last. Today I decided to give the family a treat and order for the six of us. I spent about forty dollars and the "littles" in our family were really looking forward to it. Part of the order was twelve crunchy taco supremes. Unfortunately they were packaged in a cardboard carry box which gave way as soon as we walked in the door. Tomatoes, lettuce, and taco meat went everywhere. The box probably wasn't properly secured, but we might have been able to salvage something if the tacos had been properly wrapped. It was obvious that wasn't the case. Sad for us, but worse for restaurants struggling to keep afloat in these tough times. As a matter of fact that Ramona is in a country side legion & currently could afford only one Taco Bell, thus I already appreciated that a lot as the one who came from metro areas. I've ordered a few times from their drive thru spot. The first time took me about 25 min before I received my order, but that was in their very opening period though. A couple more times after that, service was fast & trouble free. My family and I love their double stack box deal that really worthed every penny off of my money.
