Good when it's open. Staffing has always been an issue in Truckee and I try not to pick on businesses too much in this aspect, but this probably is the most inconsistent Taco Bell as far as "hours open" goes. The schedule says open till 10:00 p.m. daily, but don't be surprised if it's closed randomly- Hope they get it figured out- The staff that has worked here has been helpful and friendly, and for Taco Bell the food is consistently good. Wow! This Taco Bell is awesome! They greeted us, had the drinks for our online order ready for us when we walked in (first location ever that I didn't have to remind them about the drinks with an online order!!!), and the food was ready within a few minutes. The best part was the food! Everything tasted fresh and delicious! They aren't stingy with the ingredients. The tacos were stuffed full!!! I was full after one double decker taco because it was so much food! I love this Taco Bell! Update: waited 20 min before being told that ran out of beef! Fast food should be fast. This is by far the slowest Taco Bell I have ever been to. Came here once after skiing, it took 25 minutes to get two quesadillas, two bean burritos and three tacos, it was 3:45 on a Saturday, there was no one in the drive through and only two other people In the restaurant. The second time I attempted to get some food at 10:30 PM on a Thursday night and they were CLOSED! I know it is truckee and all, but you can't even stay open until 11PM? Wtf! Third time was the following day because I was unable to get my Taco Bell fix because of their lack of serving food after 10PM. This time I choose the drive thru at 1:30PM, there was one other car In the drive thru, it took 13 minutes to get our food. I think this Taco Bell has a good opportunity of being a great fast food establishment, but if u want to master the fast food industry, you should first master the art of proving food at a "fast" pace... Super rude employee named Denise. I walked inside and I guess I was in her way as she was going outside to smoke a cigarette. I politely said excuse me but she rudely mumbled something back and went outside. Then she came inside and started asking everyone if they drove a suburu. We said we did, concerned something was wrong. She then started harassing us about having a dog in the car when it was 45 degrees outside and we were ordering TOGO. This Taco Bell is in a convenient location off the typical beaten path of downtown or uptown Truckee. It's located with easy freeway access both east and westbound from Interstate 80 on the west end of town. The restaurant is always clean, bathrooms are also clean, the staff are always pleasant and friendly. Ample parking and an upbeat nice looking building. I'm going to get into the food, it's a Taco Bell, so you know what you're getting when you walk in the door. If you're looking for the convenience of fast food in Truckee that is also in a convenient easily accessible location give them a shot. read more

Every meal has had tomato's we've requested none on, explaining that she's allergic. All 3 times were missing food. I went here today and ordered off the drive thru menu. Every item I asked for appeared on the screen for more than the price shown on the menu. This is very disconcerting and feels like I'm being scammed. One item was more than 50% more than the price shown on the menu. This is unacceptable (and I'm pretty it's illegal since it's false advertising). Also, I asked to substitute beef for beans on the tacos and they tried to charge me extra for beans instead of substituting them. I had to ask the employee over and over again to change it to a substitution. He kept saying it's the computer and he can't do anything about it. I even asked if they could get the manager to help them but they said they were the manager. He finally just charged me for normal tacos but told the other employees to make them with beans. Then when we got home and ate we found that they didn't give us one of the items we paid for. read more

Extremely slow service... no mention of it from the cashier even though there were clearly people waiting for their food when I got there. I guess they had to go catch the chicken before I could get my tacos. Always wonderful--and on my way home from almost everywhere. I have a suggestion for the big cheeses. I always have tostadas because I'm a semi-vegetarian and try to avoid meat. At the very least, they should have vegetarian beans--the cost of veg beans is the same in the store as the saturated-fat beans. I try to tell myself that they're vegi, but I suspect they're not. This could be an advertising subject as most of the fast food places are starting to advertise healthy eating. read more

Don't be fooled by its old fashioned appearance, this taco bell was both clean and original. While the food may have taken longer than average for taco bell it definitely made up for It in quality. One of the freshest meals I've ever had at taco bell, best choice of fast food for the area. read more
