Tried the marinated chicken taco also and while it looked great, it was cold all the way through. Unfortunate as I was looking forward to trying both. Self-serve soda had many flavors. Atmosphere was light, alternating between Maroon 5 and Mariachi. I was in the dining room with a family and a couple and plenty of available seating. Many customers getting take out. There are many inconsistencies. One person in my party ordered the Twiin Grande Tacos with chicken, refried beans, rice, cheese, pico and sour cream. She said her food was delicious and she's a taco/burrito fanatic. Another person ordered Steak Twiin Grande Tacos. He wasn't aware of the up charge for steak. There is a small $ symbol to show the up charge but is easily missed. The menu is also unclear listing toppings for some of the menu items but not others, while also having a "3rd stop" saying all menu items come with the same toppings. This left one party member with some toppings they didn't want simply because the menu was unclear and confusing. Additionally, 2 of us got the steak as our protein and felt the quality of it wasn't worth the $2 up charge. It was maybe a sight upgrade from frozen steak-ums and there was no seasoning even though the menu advertised it as being marinated in Mexican seasonings. All in all, it appears you should choose chicken over steak as your protein. Hopefully the other options offer more for the palette than the steak does. My Chimichanga was larger than I expected and tasted better than I expected. I'm glad I gave this chain another shot. My friends were staying at the Opal Sands resort and found out about this restaurant because it was right next to their hotel. It is a great option of you need some quick food versus going to a sit down restaurant with wait staff. I enjoy visit here, their food is pretty good especially for the value since it is pretty cheap. They have lots of options for food also it is not just tacos. They have $5 margaritas. The clearwater blue is so good! I highly recommend trying that flavor. The fact that they have a mini bus inside is so cute. I can always appreciate the extra effort put in for decor themes. Redemption. I had taco bus for the first time at the original location and the chips were horrible. So the wife and I tried the beach location. The good news is the chips were good. I ordered the chimichanga and it came out perfect. A lightly crisp exterior with perfectly cooked shredded pork and delicious beans inside. The cheese sauce on top was a nice touch. Unfortunately their plastic knives are horrible for cutting it so i just picked it up and got messy. I also ordered the horchata and it was good. Its a sweet rice milk drink with cinnamon. We came here for a quick afternoon bite. Since we are familiar with Taco Bus in downtown Tampa, and love it, we knew we would not be disappointed. It is nice to be able to just order one taco and a drink. I had the spicy chicken taco and added some of the spicy green sauce. It was so juicy and good! Looked like the dinner rush had just passed as every open table was visibly dirty and there was dropped food/ trash under just about every table. We tried both types of pork, spicy chicken, steak and ground beef. Some were on soft corn and some were crunchy corn. We had requested a couple on flour tortillas but they came out in corn anyways. Tacos were decent with a good amount of meat in each one. Salsa and queso were definitely lacking and part of the reason for only 3 stars. The salsa was very bland and had the consistency of ketchup. Wasn't horrible just not to our liking. The queso was also very bland and seemed watery. Overall, would go again for $2 tacos but not full price days.
