Ended up going for Taco Tuesday where tacos are only $2. Between all of us we tried a dozen different tacos and queso and salsa with chips. Place was semi- busy when we went in.... Looked like the dinner rush had just passed as every open table was visibly dirty and there was dropped food/ trash under just about every table. We tried both types of pork, spicy chicken, steak and ground beef. Some were on soft corn and some were crunchy corn. We had requested a couple on flour tortillas but they came out in corn anyways. Tacos were decent with a good amount of meat in each one. Salsa and queso were definitely lacking and part of the reason for only 3 stars. The salsa was very bland and had the consistency of ketchup. Wasn't horrible just not to our liking. The queso was also very bland and seemed watery. Overall, would go again for $2 tacos but not full price days. Ok so I gotta be 100% honest with this review. Absolutely no fluff. The vibe here was cool. The staff seemed nice. They had a good selection of drinks. I ordered 3 hard shell tacos. One spicy pork, one shredded Chicken, and one Steak. The steak was TERRIBLE. I took one bit and spit it out and threw that MFer in the trash. That happened to be the first one I bit into so it kinda tarnished the rest of it. The pork was pretty good and so was the chicken. But it was tough to enjoy after the steak debacle. We started with simple tacos. Chicken, Fish, Shrimp and a Portobello veggie mix and added a Mexican street corn The grouper taco was by far one of the best tacos I have ever eaten. This Place is not not GOOD!!! Food is cheap just like the quality. When I walked in and ordered my food the guy seemed mad and tired and not Happy. The only reason this place gets 2 stars was because it's fast. Waited 5-7 mins for 3 Tacos. They got me and my friends name wrong 2 times when calling it out. Not the biggest problem just confusing. The food had no taste at all and I had to put lime all over it to make it some what ok. When I was waiting for my food I saw a lady in the back picking in her ear and then go back to cooking. We parked at sand key and walked the 25 minutes over the bridge for some excercise and fun to the Taco Bus. The place has a lot of charm as there is a cool bus prop that they work all their magic behind. I got the shredded chicken taco and tostada with refried beans. They were both perfect!! This place was unbelievable. I don't even know if i have ever written a review on Yelp yet, but this place deserves it. I got the chimichanga with chipotle chicken and my girlfriend got churros. When i say the phrase, "Holy cow," to describe the food, that's underselling it. I hope the workers here are aware of how much better they're making the world, just by cooking this food. I do have one negative thing to say. It's very small, but the plastic knives stink. It didn't break or anything, but the knife-to-chimichanga ratio wasn't the best. So I know Taco Bus is a trademark Tampa Bay find, and I'm grateful to have been able to experience it during my short stay at Clearwater Beach. The bus is so freakin' cool! Who would've thought incorporating a food truck experience in an air-conditioned building would be a hit? Well, I can definitely say Taco Bus managed to conquer that task and very successfully if I do say so myself. As for the food itself, I didn't actually end up getting tacos to my chagrin. I am a burrito bowl fan myself, what can I say? And it wasn't as great as I would've imagined. The guacamole was the kind that you buy pre-packaged, with a creamier texture (no nice avocado chunks to my dismay). This is a great oit stop for when you're hibhry in a hurry and don't want to spend a lot of money! Honestly it looks like a cheap commercialized place but the food is very good. The customer service is great too I went in and got the burrito bowl that has a base of Mexican rice with peas and corn, black beans, pico de gallo, grilled chicken (or your meat of choice) and shredded lettuce. I opted out of the cheese but it comes with that too. Served with sour cream and guacamole on the side. If you're used to Chipotle bowls this one measures out to be Better! On our first visit, we ordered the twiin grande tacos (one with grilled chicken and one with grouper) and the torta with chicken chipotle. We really enjoyed the food a lot, some much so that we came back and brought a friend for dinner. I can tell that the issue here is it is very dependent on who is cooking. There was a different person each time and the second time definitely was not good at all. We ordered the same thing but added the tostado for my friend.
