I love trying out new taco places, and I was excited to find Taco Cielo close to my work. I popped in for dinner after getting off work one day, and was surprised to see the place was pretty much empty. I went ahead and ordered, getting 3 tacos with rice and beans. I got ground beef, al pastor, and barbacoa along with rice, beans, and chips with queso. The service was just ok, the person at the counter was not really interested in explaining anything or offering suggestions. The food came out fairly quickly, maybe 15 minutes, and it was all pretty good, but not great. The chips were a little chewy, almost stale, and the tacos, while tasty, were absolutely swimming in grease. So much grease that they were actually hard to eat because the tortilla was falling apart, and you couldn't put them back on the plate because of the pool of grease were the tacos were. The beans were actually super tasty, but sadly I'm not going to a taco place just because they had good beans, you know? The salsas were pretty good, but very, very spicy! I am hispanic, and I love me some heat, but I was reaching for the water quite a bit with the salsa. So, just be aware of the spice level there. Overall, just an average taco joint, but the price point was high for what you got. It was $16 plus tax for my meal, and I got water to drink. I probably won't be back, but I certainly wouldn't discourage anyone from trying them out. read more

Maaaaan if you haven't been here for some breakfast tacos then cut it out. Stop by on your way to work and get you some freshly made burritos or tacos. Salsa? Customer service? Food quality? Price? Finally a breakfast place that's not gonna cost you your entire check. Very fair prices and for the quality of the food they are doing a service to the community! I get surprised this place isn't more busy every time, but at the same time I'm not. This place offers a pretty standard Mexican menu, and the food is delicious at a good price. The customer service is spotty though. At times the service is lacking, and others it's amazing. Dependent on who you get? I still recommend as they're worth the wait and possibly with more customer they might hire more people and get faster. read more

This place is very underrated. Normally wouldn't think to check it out but stopped in after living right by it for 2 years and it didn't disappoint. Their 3 tacos for $6 deal is a great value, they definitely don't cheat you on the meat either. Fajita beef is incredible and tender. Give them a try, you won't regret it! read more

Their menu looks very nice with a lot shrimp and fish options. However, California steak burrito caught my eyes and I decided to get it instead of getting the carne asada fries appetizer. I love that the California steak burrito included guacamole and use fries instead of rice to add crunchy texture to the burrito. I really like cilantro rice but sometimes fries in burrito just make food more interesting. The steak is a little over seasoned and on the salty side which made me feel thirsty and drink a lot water and cola. I took off one star coz the seasoning is off on the steak burrito(salty) and chips and guacamole(plain). The service is good and fresh, I want to try the shrimp and fish tacos next. read more

I come here pretty often because I live very close. It's good quality, their salsa bar is nice. I love spicy so I always go for the habanero salsa. This place has good food, but fair warning that if you order online, they will more than likely mess up the order somehow. I order here often and almost every time they forget the desert, the drink, and don't address the comments made from when you order. It's also much better to call because if they are out of something, you wont know until you get there if you order online. For example, if you spend $5 on boba tea which doesnt actually exist, when you get there they will offer you a $2 soda to replace it. The churros are really good but if you do order churros that are supposed to come with 2. You may get 2, you may get 1, or none at all. If you get it with ice cream, they will probably forget it. They may not have churros at all that day and offer you something random. Just look at it like every order is a surprise! If you add ingredients to your order, it will always come on the side, so if you add guacamole or cheese when ordering a burrito, don't expect it to actually go into the burrito. The loaded queso had good flavor but is watery and not mixed well with just a tiny crumble of seasoned beef at the bottom. read more

The worst Mexican restaurant I've ever experienced. The chicken enchilada plate was mostly room temperature, only about two tablespoons of shredded flavorless chicken inside two enchiladas topped with a very thin, tasteless sauce, pile of tasteless room temperature rice, shredded lettuce with a speck of tomato and no dressing as salad. At least the red beans were warm. If you want a glass of water, you get a styrofoam coffee size cup that you fill yourself. I won't be back and suggest you go to Taco Bell or anywhere else for Mexican fast food. read more

The restaurant is very clean and the furnishings look new. The workers are friendly and very accommodating. The food was delicious and tasted freshly made. We tried to eat here for the second time today. The first time they were "closed for maintenance" on a week day. Today we tried again. Total waste of time. My husband is a vegetarian so options are limited. We tried to order chips and guacamole and the girl said she had to check to see if they had guacamole. They did not. So we switched to queso. She said they had that. He then tried to order the fried avocado tacos and they were out of avocados. He then ordered veggie tacos. They had only onions and a couple other things. We left. The food here is amazing but I'm going to have to give it a big 1 star because this location in particular location in Addison closes early more often than not. I eat here 3-4 times a week between breakfast lunch or dinner and I have to say the disappointment only comes around dinner when I'm craving their delicious California Steak Burrito. Everywhere online it shows they close at 9pm and even on the front door there is a sign that shows they close at 9pm. Here I am writing this review at 8:05p because I walk up and they are closing the restaurant for the day at 7:45p. This would not bother me if this was the first time. Unfortunately this has happened on multiple occasions and this was the final straw for me because when I'm craving something from a restaurant that I arrived to well before they close, it is just beyond frustrating. This location is closed on Sunday and with them consistently closing early and updating everything else (new menu, updated interior) but not their hours, it appears you can't eat here after lunch on the weekends, this is just now a weekday only and Saturday brunch schedule Taco Cielo location. The availability is crucial for me and that's why I have to rate it so low in the hope of change before I just find a new place and give up on this franchise. read more
