My co-worker and I come here at least once a week for lunch and we've never had a bad meal! The place is kind of small and the tables could fill up fast if you go between 12:00-12:30. We get there between 11:30-11:45 and have always gotten a seat. We always get the steak tacos and they are heavenly! The unlimited, complimentary chips and salsa are delicious and always fresh! The gentlemen who is always there (possibly the owner?) gets 100% for his customer service! Always extremely friendly when taking our orders and always walks around to each table to see how the meal was and if we need any refills on drinks or the chips/salsa. I do agree with previous reviews - This place should really be $$ (my 3 steak taco dinner and drink came up to about $12). For the most part taco dale is pretty good, I don't know if there's a different cook at times, but they do have off days where the food is kind of off like the cook is different. For the expensive price of the food it should be consistent, and delicious everyday. read more

If they get your order right, this place knocks most Mexican food out of the park. If they get it wrong, it's way wrong--everything from the toppings on your taco, to missing sides and drinks. Best fish tacos I've ever had! Taking away one star for order inaccuracy. I would eat here everyday if it were possible. I did read a lot of reviews that said they got food poisoning from here. Have tried all the Taco Dale restaurants in the area and by far this one is my favorite! Great steak tacos and chimichangas! Also the staff is great . My family and myself just came home from here about an hour ago. All together, there were 6 of us. We ate there because it was PTA night and we came to support the kids school. Portions were just okay. My steak burrito was mostly lettuce tomato and beans. It was pricier than other local burrito joints but we went for the kids. Every single one of us ended up in the bathroom. My brother, my son and my nephew couldn't wait till we got home which didn't work out well since Taco diner has one men's toilet. I was doing well over the speed limit to get myself home. Thank god we have 3 bathrooms at home because they were all being used immediately. So 55 bucks and a clogged toilet later...we realized we will never dine there again. Do your self a favor and go across the street to el burrito. This spot was good till the last two times I got shrimp tacos from this place. The last few times I got shrimp tacos here in an hour I was puking all over my job. I legit think they let their shrimp sit out or something or cross contamination with all the meat they use and probably don't clean the grill. I don't eat meat so this could be the reason why. First time at this location after being a long-time patron of the Bolingbrook location. I don't get up that way much anymore so I was pleasantly surprised to find TD had expanded. The tacos are as good as ever. Great prices and generous amounts of meat. Fast service as well even during the lunch rush. I will be back for sure. read more

Cozy taco-and-burrito joint. The owners put some thought into the place; it is clean and well-appointed. But you didn't come here for the atmosphere... The steak burritos are fantastic; the meat has a distinct smokey flavor. I know it sounds odd but the refried beans are some of the best I've ever had. My son (a refried-bean-and-corn-tortilla aficionado) agrees. The prices are fair but the portions aren't huge--the burritos aren't gutbusters like at other taco joints. But that's OK. Watch out if you have a situation that requires customer service, they'll refuse to help. Placed an order through their facebook page (which sends you to grubhub.) I ordered food, was charged and received a confirmation email. When at the diner to pick it up, they said they "turned off" grubhub an hour before. I said THEIR page took me to grubhub and accepted my order. The diner refused to do anything, just said they turned it off and I'd have to take it up with grubhub. Whatever their B2B arrangement was has nothing to do with the fact I ordered (and was charged) in good faith and owner did nothing, nothing to try to assist just a "call grubhub, not my problem." I used it a few times, went back in there about a week ago and was told the card was no good anymore because they went to a new computer system. We're trying our best to support some of the smaller places in the area during this difficult time. Taco Dále is essentially down the street from us, so I'm not sure why we didn't try it sooner. I'm glad we have now though. The burrito I ordered was huge and delicious. My wife ordered a taco dinner which came with three tacos she said were delicious. We had the Mexican nachos and they were really good. For dessert we split a caramel filled churro. Amazing. The service was super friendly. This is for the Lisle location. The food is ok. It's more of a carry out quality. The reason for the 2 star rating is the service. Although they're friendly, they're slow. SLOW!!! Called in a simple order, went in to pick up, only three tables, and waited 40 min from the time I called. Beyond that, got home and realized they left out the chips (just salsa) and forgot our drinks. The place was empty....made no sense. Reading the other reviews, incomplete orders seem to be an issue for this place. Not bad, but not worth the wait or the hassle of incomplete orders. read more

Seriously, the food at Taco Dale is terrific. No kidding. Among a handful of similar places, Taco Dale definitely rises to the top of the list. HOWEVER, and this IS a biggie....they "seem" to be very stingy when it comes to the comp. chips & salsa. When dining at Taco Dale, it is standard for your table of 4 or 5 diners to receive only 1 basket of chips and 1 very tiny bowl of salsa. Should you ask for an additional tiny bowl of salsa (or chips) they WILL bring one, but it seems they are very reluctant to do so. Let the Salsa flow FREELY, folks! It IS terrific salsa after all...and the bottled sauces are amazing as well. If they can relax their grip or the reigns they have on their salsa and chips they will hit 5 stars and, hands down, be the greatest taco joint of its kind in the area. Because there ARE restaurants nearby to choose from that are far more gracious and generous with their comp. chips & salsa and server pretty good food too. read more
