Nice hidden gem the food is amazing!! I love their Horchata yummy the burrito was huge and so flavorful I loved every single bite! Marie had the 2 tacos plate she loved it too. Service is great they are very friendly too. All the decorations very nice and colorful & they have TV. There's outside dining as well. You gotta come try their food you won't be sorry .

Walked in entrance was very welcoming. The young lady working the register/order taking greeted me immediately. I ordered the fish taco combo plate. The fish tacos were tasty and crunchy, I ordered the fried fish. I added some of their salsa, yummy! The tomatillo and red salsa was sooooo good. Overall a very good choice of taqueria in the area. Plenty of tables and chairs. My new addition of stops when I'm in the area

It's nice to see a that the old Chronic Taco has been replaced by another taco joint! They have a Taco Tuesday special-- $2.50 per taco with your choice of beef/chicken/pork. It's a little confusing because it's a smaller version of the regular menu tacos (4" vs 6" tortilla), which can also be ordered on Tuesday. The full size tacos can be ordered with fish/shrimp as well. I had the Cali burrito and enjoyed it thoroughly! It was bigger than expected but not overwhelmingly large. I liked that it had a creamy/tangy sauce inside (like an Ensenada style fish taco sauce). I ordered mine without sour cream, which was a good call considering the creamy sauce. To really go overboard, I also ordered one Taco Tuesday al pastor taco. It's a deal at $2.50, but it wasn't anything special. No pineapple and I would prefer onion/cilantro rather than pico de gallo on top. Overall, everything was really good, but there are so many good taco joints that it's hard to stand out. I'd be curious to see what others think. I'll likely end up here again, but more out of convenience than a burning desire.

I appreciate that Taco Life Mexican Grill is family owned, and I will say the service provided during my visit was commendable. Maybe I ordered the wrong items off the menu, but I honestly didn't think the Carnitas Taco and the Birria Taco were all that and I've def had better at a number of other Mexican restaurants. Having said that, I like that you can make it a combo and add chips, guacamole and a beverage for only $4.75. Taco Life has a legit number of stellar reviews so if I'm ever back in the area, I'll have to check out something different off their menu like a torta, quesadilla, burrito, antojito, ensalada, taquito, bowl or enchilada!

Food is great and friendly staff. I recommend you check this place out. My husband loves the potato tacos and cilli rellano burrito. I go for the veggie bowl. Great options for vegetarians.

Great Taco Tuesday spot! Tacos are $2.50 (select choices on meat). I love the Al Pastor and Carne Asada options as they are full of flavor. I am not the biggest fan of their chicken tacos but that is my personal preference. They also have great salsa, so don't forget to try that with your order! Service here is super friendly. Great little spot!

The joke is that I've been to this same address three different times over the years, and each time I've been to a different Mexican eatery; this place has been home to three different Mexican restaurants, but I'm really hoping Taco Life Mexican Grill is here to stay--it's THAT good! I tried the Super Nachos with Al Pastor, and wow, what a feast! The plate was loaded with beans, extra cheese, guacamole, pico de gallo, crisp and flavorful jalapeños, sour cream, and their special sauce. Every bite was incredible. The Al Pastor was perfectly seasoned and absolutely fantastic--hands down some of the best I've had in OC. The whole plat of nachos was generously portioned, fresh, and totally satisfying! The store was clean and inviting, with a friendly crew who knew the menu inside and out. They helped me figure out exactly what I wanted, making my first visit here a great experience. Parking is still just adequate--typical plaza planning--but that's no fault of the restaurant. Sitting inside, I enjoyed a nice view of the Chapman Avenue race track (if you drive here, you know what I mean...), and the overall ambiance was relaxed and welcoming. There's so much more on the menu that I can't wait to try. This place is a definite win, and I'll absolutely be back!

What a night! UNFORGETTABLE EVENT OF 2026!!!!…read more Last Thursday, our ULI CFL Foodies gathered for a truly memorable evening at Gabbi's Mexican Kitchen in Orange -- with an exclusive private dining experience for 10 in The Cellar (Ki Hanal + Lounge). Such great 5 star service by our server, Jess!!! Thank you Mr. Don Domingue (Restaurant Manager). - The Yucatan inspired dishes were life alteringly good - The salsa was seriously addictive (carmelized onions in the salsa??? who knew it would be so mind blowing!) - OMG the skirt steak was cooked to perfection sitting on a corn medley served with hot fresh house made flour/corn tortillas - Their cocktails were vibrant, fresh and packed a punch! A converted wine cellar featuring an intimate bar and lounge and a dramatic private dining table reminiscent of King Arthur's Court, the space was unlike anything we had experienced before. The furnishings were rich with history, character and unique design. For a few hours, we literally felt transported. But as special as the setting was, the people made the evening. We celebrated a birthday , career milestones , and had the opportunity to get to know members of ULI CFL Cohort 2 on a more personal level. A special CHEERS to Judson B, whose thoughtfulness and efforts truly made this evening special. Thank you, Judson, for taking us on such a wonderful Mexican culinary adventure! Great company + great conversation + great food & beverages = the trifecta of a great night out exploring what Orange County has to offer! And with that, we officially pass the ULI CFL Foodies torch to Karen A., who will be leading us on our next culinary adventure this Fall (Oct/Nov). Details to come! Until then... happy eating and CHEERS!

I'd like to start by saying the service was not the issue. The staff were kind and happily offered…read morerecommendations when asked. In my opinion, the restaurant should just be called "Gabbi's Kitchen," because that would be more appropriate. This is the type of "Mexican" restaurant that Mexicans don't actually go to. Basic concepts and dishes that are either done incorrectly or have way too much going on. We ordered the Al Pastor Gordita, and it was easily the worst gordita I've ever had. The meat wasn't traditionally seasoned the way you'd expect al pastor to be, which could be fine, except it was overwhelmed by the taste of either cinnamon, allspice, or some other seasoning I couldn't identify. It was distracting and unpleasant. Then there was an overwhelming amount of pineapple. There shouldn't even be pineapple in a gordita, but if there is, it shouldn't be the main ingredient. Instead of lettuce, there were one or two spinach leaves, and no beans. We also ordered the Arrachera, which was basically carne asada on corn and nopal. This was the most expensive dish, yet while the cheaper dishes came with sides, this was mainly just a piece of meat on a small mountain of corn. No beans, rice, or salsa. I asked for salsa and received an overly sweet, somehow-not-spicy habanero salsa that they charged $4 for. And if you're used to going to literally any authentic Mexican restaurant and getting complimentary chips and salsa, don't expect that here. They offer it to you like it's free, but it's not. I wanted to try something new, and the hostess at the front said the food was "really good" (not her fault), but unfortunately, it's just another Americanized Mexican restaurant that makes you regret not going to a place you already know and trust.

Our water glasses were always full, and they kept the table clean as soon as we finished a plate. The food was good, but not the best I've tried. I had the Grande Taco Salad, and I really enjoyed it. We also ordered the seafood tacos, but unfortunately, the shrimp had a little bit of a soapy taste. We let our server know, and they were very nice about it and offered to get her something else. A note for anyone who doesn't eat pork: ask for the beans prepared "a la olla" instead of the refried beans. I asked our server if the refried beans were made with manteca (pork lard), and he confirmed that they were, so just something to be aware of when ordering. The restaurant itself has a lot of character. It used to be a church, so it has beautiful colorful windows with designs, lots of wood inside, and some huge, beautiful lamps in the middle. They also have outdoor seating, but it was way too hot to sit outside when we went. Overall, it was a nice first visit, especially because of the friendly service and atmosphere. I'm giving it 4 stars because of the soapy taste in the shrimp and because, while the food was good, I've had better Mexican food at other places.

A group of us came in and spent around $500. We ordered several appetizers and shared different plates because everything looked so good. I personally ordered the tacos gobernador. That night and the next day was awful. I started vomiting, had severe diarrhea, missed work, and my child also got sick after eating. Because of what happened, I called the restaurant to let them know and make them aware. I wasn't expecting an argument--I just wanted them to take the situation seriously. But I was being confused for someone that had already called earlier that day with the same problem. I felt completely brushed off. The response I received was basically, "Thanks for your comment." When I spoke with a supervisor he came across as aggressive and made me feel like I wasn't even allowed to express my concerns about what happened. As a regular paying customer, that was incredibly frustrating. I'm not saying restaurants don't have challenges or that mistakes can't happen. But when customers spend hundreds of dollars, we deserve quality food, proper food safety practices, and to be treated with respect when we report a serious issue. Whether this was a food handling problem or cross-contamination, my experience should have been taken seriously instead of dismissed.
