As the founder of Taco Masala, a taco concept with nine locations on the East Coast, I'm always curious to see how others in the space are executing their menu and customer experience. I ordered the Sizzler Tacos ($16.95), which included two tacos, a side of nachos, and another side. The food arrived impressively fast. Presentation was clean and appealing -- the tacos were well laid out, and the sides were portioned nicely. Overall, visually it was a solid plate. From a flavor standpoint, I'd like to offer a bit of constructive feedback. When something is labeled a "sizzler," there's an expectation of bold flavor -- perhaps sautéed or grilled onions, charred peppers, or some caramelization on the meat that delivers that signature sizzle experience. In this case, the steak was simply placed into the taco without that extra layer of zest or depth. I'm not complaining -- just offering positive, industry-peer feedback. A touch of sautéed onions, grilled tomatoes, or even lightly seasoned caramelized elements could elevate the dish and give customers that memorable flavor that keeps them coming back specifically for the "sizzler" experience. I've ordered here several times and love the concept. They have loads of options to choose from. They have good portion sizes as well. I am most impressed that you can get guacamole and queso as one of your toppings for no additional charge. My favorite sauce is their ranch. The cilantro lime sauce is good on top of a bowl, but the ranch I can just eat with anything,it's so tasty. I love dipping the complementary chips in the ranch. This was my second time at this location and I was not disappointed. I'm a stickler for eating the same thing at my a favorite spots to not disappoint myself and I wasn't. I got a basket with the ahi tuna and grilled flounder tacos, side of queso and I tried the watermelon Margarita. Tacos come in groups of two, they have house suggestions and you can build your own (definitely the way to go) from a really large list of ingredients. I tried the steak and a fish (fried flounder) taco and a side of street corn. I ordered the steak with cilantro and onion, and the fish with their ancho chile slaw. Both on flour tortillas. The tacos come with the toppings under the protein, which is odd but okay. The steak was super tender but could have been marinated for some more flavor. The fish was good, I mean fried flounder, amirite? The meal came with a side of choice, I got the ubiquitous street corn, it was ok. It also comes with chips and salsa which were good. We came on a Tuesday night, and there was a short line out the door, but we were able to order within 10 minutes. After we ordered, it only took another 10 minutes to get our food. I ordered the two tacos and a side combo ($12-15) with one grilled flounder and one chorizo. In hindsight, probably not the best combination together, but both were good! Next time, I am eager to try the steak! I was pleasantly surprised at how loaded the tacos were. This is not one of those "tiny, half-full tortilla" type places! I came here with a friend for Cinco de Mayo, knowing before hand there would be a crowd. What I didn't expect was the absolute over the top service we received on one of the busiest days of the year. The food, as always was beyond expectations and the drinks were fresh and delicious. The owner is one of the kindest people and best business owners I've ever encountered. I absolutely loved their selection of margs --my favorites were the blood orange and the la playa which was a pineapple coconut flavor that transported me to the Caribbean. We headed over there for lunch on the weekend and really enjoyed our meal. I got the build your own burrito with guacamole and it was really good. We tried the Yo Mama burrito and the Fat Boy burrito, both baskets with street corn. Everything came out very quick and was so tasty. It's an order at the counter and they bring you your food kind of place, but I was surprised how many times they checked in that everything tasted good and we didn't need anything additional, so nice! It's not super loud, or super quiet, so would definitely be a casual kid friendly option. The margaritas sounded and looked delicious so I'll have to try one next time! The girl gave us a run down of the menu board but we couldn't understand what she was saying as it was all mumbled and rushed. Ordered the chicken nachos and a taco Tuesday 1/2 price margarita. The margarita was horrible! It was extremely watered down to the point where I just had to speak up about it. They remade it and same....strong water taste. Mentioned it again and come to find out their sour mix ran out and it was actually water being mixed in. Had it remade a third time and it still wasn't great. I can't believe other people were literally getting pitchers of margaritas and no one else mentioned anything. Nachos came out quick but the queso was cold. I asked for a side of salsa and the girl was so confused. She ended bringing me a little cup of green salsa which was super spicy and I asked if they have regular red mild salsa and she just stood there. She told me I would have to order some kind of trio to get the red salsa so I just said never mind because I was already frustrated. I guess my only highlight here is that the food comes out quick and you have the ability to build your own and customize your meal however you like for free which is a cool concept. The Chorizo and Ground Beef are my favorite. Each meal comes with chips & salsa and a side - I love sides. YESSS to their Margaritas - especially the watermelon. It is first come first serve and they are pretty quick with cleaning the tables. The have sanitizer on each table. We ordered the taco baskets that come with two tacos, salsa and a side. We mixed and match them. Tuna is extra but it was worth it. Tuna, shrimp, barbacoa, and chorizo tacos were ordered. We also had the queso and guacamole. Everything was excellent. Went on a Saturday evening for tacos and margaritas. They're located inside of a shopping center right next to the Plant House! We walked in and we're immediately greeted by the manager who asked if it was our first time (it was). He was extremely helpful with explaining menu items and guiding our drink choices for the evening. Their ordering style is very convenient! You order and pay at the counter, given a table marker for whatever table you choose and they bring it out to you! Overall everything was good, but the fish was fried too hard for me and a little salty.
