The drinks are somewhat strong but everything else is a complete miss. The service is horrible, brought friends here and was so embarrassed by how rude and dismissive the staff was. We were greeted, if that's what they call it, rudely and didn't actually get a server until 10 mins in. Even my friends who work in food service said they couldn't believe how incompetent and cold the staff was. The food is no winner either. Even though food is good there, the waitresses service is incredibly mediocre. They often make mistakes with the orders, they are disorganized, and they spend more time gossiping that doing their job. Got yelp just to write this review. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. We arrived and sat down and right after two other groups entered and sat as well, the other two groups received menus and were attended. My group sat there and just watched. I really liked this place - while I'm a pescetarian and there weren't a ton of menu options for me to select from, I was sold on the place when I was served a 40 of Regia Extra from El Salvador - while I'm almost 30, this is actually the first time I have downed a 40 someplace other than behind a condemned building next to a dumpster. Taco Mex is fantastic! Same price as any Chipotle, Boloco, or Qdoba but much more fresh and delicious. The burritos are especially scrumptious and they seal the burrito with melted cheese. As many reviewers praised the burritos, I ordered the shrimp one. What a disappointment. Without the salsa, it was flavorless. The tortilla was heavy and doughy, not grilled or warmed as other restaurants do. The service was okay. For good burritos, I recommend El Pelon, Sabroso, and Villa Mexico. I came here randomly one night out of curiosity and spent some time looking over the menu. There is much to choose from, and the polite waitresses will gladly help you pick something out if you're not sure what you want. Personally, I ended up eating Carne Asada, which is basically grilled steak. It comes with vegetables on one side, and rice and beans on the other side. Went to the restaurant this evening and when went to pay provided two receipts one had after signing i reviewed receipts and noticed the receipt signed had the last four digits of the debit card incorrect. The other was correct. I mentioned to the lady to give me back the incorrect receipt to ensure my signature was removed, she refused and tore a receipt which I dont know if it was the one incorrectly signed she refused to show me and did give me another receipt for my card to be signed. I've never had a torta so delicious than the pork adobada. Although, I'm not sure it's on the menu any more (Pollo o Carne seem like the only official choices). Slightly disappointed to find that this "Mexican" restaurant is actually more Colombian than Mexican. My mother and me were not satisfied with our nachos or burritos. My experience took another fall when I asked our server if the guacamole could be put INSIDE our burrito, only to see that when the burrito arrived- guac was on the side. I might reconsider this place for a Colombian dish, but East Boston has lots of other amazing restaurants. Prices are decent-can't complain about that! read more
