The food at taco star is not good Mexican food even by drive thru standards ... If you're looking for drive thru Mexican I suggest Santiagos express... Only thing appealing about Taco star is that it's open 24 hrs so after a night of drinking ( alot ) this place would maybe hit the spot... The carne asada was very grisly and salty... Ate at the Commerce City Taco Star today--our first visit. And our Last!! The employee behind the counter greeted us and asked what we wanted. The menu is large with small print. When we would ask a question, the employee would point to the menu as she answered. We asked if they had chips and cheese and she said "No" and then pointed at the menu again. There was a Definite lack of caring or friendliness. We finally decided. I had the grilled chicken taco (soft shell) and my husband had a beef hard shell taco. We also ordered a chicken quesadilla. The food was AWFUL! The tortilla on both my taco and the quesadilla was rubbery and greasy. The filling was alright--we ate it and left the tortilla shell. The music was all in Spanish, the employees all spoke Spanish and only seemed to talk to or smile at other Hispanics. We didn't feel welcome and the food wasn't good enough to ignore that. So we will stick with Taco Bell where they are friendly and helpful and the food is WAY better -- and cheaper! read more

I used to work around the area few years back. I came back last nite looking for what I remembered about Taco Star. Huge tacos, delicious meats and reduced prices. To my surprise they are keeping their promise and consistency in all this factors plus they are open 24 hours. Isn't that amazing? I wish they have locations throughout the Denver area so I don't need t drive 25 mins for this crave. My tacos were delicious, served on a double corn tortilla since the amount of meat is overflowing. You get plenty of salsas to complete your experience and the horchata water is unique. Carne asada burrito is where it's at!! Omg SOOO good! It was jam packed with flavorful tender meat. There's no filler, and no fatty meat like other places, just well seasoned tender meat, pico, and guac. This food is fantastic!! I had never eaten here before and I do not regret eating here one bit! I ordered the fish burrito and added potatoes to it and man it was the best burrito I have had in a long time! Their tortillas are fresh and their green salsa is wonderful! I give them 3 stars because no matter time of day or night one car or seven cars they take forever. Their food is amazing and they lose so much Business because knowone wants to wait in their lines for 30 minutes for fast food. Every time we go we sit in line 20 to 30 minutes. Now we see a line when we want to go there we leave and we go to taco bell next door. Their employees are not very nice they are rude. Truly sad. Would of given 5 stars but ratings are based on all around business not just the food. It seems like they need more help or somthing. Its not fare when you've been waiting in drive through for 20 minutes and see a bunch of people park and go to their window and get served before everyone that's been waiting in drive through. If you can't get the food through drive through the same time as the window you need to shut down the window or get more staff to make both drive through and window moving at the same pace. read more

Avoid this place like the plague. I ordered from here off the Uber Eats APP and just received my "food" and it is completely inedible. The "guacamole" is some kind of sauce, the "carne asada" is dried out and bland (but my Shih Tzu likes it), and the churros had nothing on them (supposed to come dusted with cinnamon and sugar). I called to speak with the manager but he was not in and the young lady who can't chew bubble gum and walk kept putting me on hold when I was voicing my displeasure at spending $23 on a meal I can't eat. She never came back to the phone but another employee took the message for the manager and said he'd have him call me. I gave them the star because I had to and the one plus is that they made my tacos like I asked: carne asada, onions, and cilantro ONLY, on corn tortillas. If the steak was not dried out and grey, I'm sure they would have been delicious. The Minute Maid lemonade is good though. read more

Though it's far from the best taco joint in Denver, it is my favorite in the area. My personal favorite it the lengua tacos (seriously, try them). I grab breakfast burritos fairly often- machaca is good, though it can be greasy, choizo is good but greasy, and my fav it bean, egg, and cheese. The only thing that I really didn't like was the fish tacos... there were some weird flavors going on- not rotten, just not good. read more

I have been so Excited to try this place after moving to the area recently. Well .... it was quite the disappointment. I ordered the fish tacos combo and it was horrid. The "fish" was chewy and hard and there was so much sauce you couldn't taste anything. The rice was also very dry and tasteless. Good thing one my children just eats a side of steak so I was able to scrape it out and put some "ok" meat in it. The green sauce was almost sweet not what I was expecting. My children wouldnt even eat their food stating it tasted funny. After spending nearly $40 on a taco combo, smothered burrito, and nachos it was very well not worth the money. I ordered a "steak" burrito and tacos from here through UberEats. The food that arrived was some of the nastiest Mexican food I've ever tasted. Really terrible quality meat (rubbery, fatty, not even real steak, dried up and overcooked chicken, cheap, old-tasting taco shells). Fake guacamole crap on the burrito, no flavors except excess heat. I went to taco star in commerce city and went to the drive through. ordered 2 beef tacos,and 2 tostados with beef sat at the window for about 10 minutes waiting then when we got it home the order was all wrong HOW DO YOU MESS UP A ORDER LIKE THAT??? REALLY...PLUS I PAID $14.99 FOR IT . The BEST Mexican food stand I've been to in Colorado! I know it's a chain but it's absolutely delicious! Being from San Diego I really craved Carne Asada burritos. The taste of the Carne Asada burritos I get here make me feel a little closer to home. The Super Nachos bring me back to high school days with my brother.
