Good burritos, horrible guacamole and rude employees. Not bad prices vs quality. Fast line wait. The guacamole is so runny, it's gross.

They take forever to get you your food and the breakfast burritos are extremely boring and have no flavor to them at all. The only reason I gave them a second star is because it's open 24/7 even though it takes at least 15 minutes to get your food. read more

The food is actually very good. Just be sure to check your receipt before leaving. I took my daughter here we went inside to eat and they charged us for 2 Carne asada fries, the cashier didnt give me a receipt so I didnt think any thing of it until the next day when I checked my bank statement and saw about $9.00 more on the charge then it should of been. I called and asked for the manager and the guy hung up on me, I then called back again and asked when the manager would be in and what his name was and the employee said he didnt know his name. We had to go in and they did give us the food that we paid for but did not order in the first place. But overall very poor customer service. read more

This is a great spot for quick service & great value . I usually order carne asada torta, fish tacos and churros. Even though would prefer cabbage on tacos still not bad. My last experience with the torta was bit uncommon as too much lettuce which made torta bread a bit soggy. Since lettuce is most likely put in water was not drained properly. Overall taste is good. Churros are a must have. read more

I was hyped to try this place because my coworker mentioned it. Wasn't sure if the meat in carne asada burrito was real meat because it was very dry and the texture was off. Never again. If I'm rating the service I would say they did a great job, they were very friendly. But the food is not good at all. Someone suggested this place and mentioned it's like fast food but a bit better. I don't like Taco Bell but I think Taco Bell has better flavor then this place..just saying. I did not go in expecting much but I was a bit surprised how many people like it. Taco Star just opened up and I wanted to check it out. I had read the first review on it and it sounded good. I had the #10 combo meal and it must have weighed at least 2.5lbs. Great portions for the money!! The taste was awesome and the service was fast. I can't wait to try there smothered steak burritos! To make it even better they are open 24 hours, so if ya get the munchies for some great mexican food after a late night of clubin stop by and check them out in Thornton next to Arby's. I love Taco star and always will. I think there was a confusion on prices however. Sent my husband to pick up a single chimichanga and quesadilla, but he returned upset telling me the bill was over $16.00! I checked the menu prices and am shocked to say we must have over charged. So...we went to Taco Star last night, in hopes that they got their act together. We figure we'll give them another try. Well, sadly, things just got worse. I ordered a chips and guacamole, and it was an absolute joke! the chips were ALL burnt, the guacamole wasn't a nice chunky guac, it was really really runny. You can tell that they literally just threw it in not caring how the chips or guacamole landed. The portion size was very very small. The burrito we got was almost $6. I was contemplating between getting chips/guacamole or super nachos (which were almost $9, YIKES!) thank God I didn't pick the super nachos because I would of been very upset if I would of gotten home and realized the "super" nachos were not super and I paid premium price for it. Also, the guys working the window are complete scum bags! Just a word of advise, starring and hitting on girls at the window is not a good way to get yourself a girlfriend!!! Great food!! Horrible customer service. I hate when I'm craving it because i remember the customer service. they ALWAYS get the order wrong every time iv gone. I've been going here for a few years. This is the best mexican fast food and open 24 hrs. The meat used always has perfectly subtle but rich flavors and prices are cheap for the good portions you get. The soft shell chicken taco with splilling over with plenty of chicken, lettuce, tomato, sour cream and cheese for just $2.50 is enough for me for a good lunch. Taco 1 star is what I call it! I ordered a chorizo and egg burrito from their menu. When I asked for them to add potatoes, they added frozen french fries to it. If you're going to order food from here, my best advice is to not modify the menu! read more

My husband and I live down the street from this place and it has become one of our favorite mexican food joints. It has even replaced Viva Burrito, which is not easy to do! I personally love their huevos rancheros, which is actually made with enchilada sauce instead of green chile (which is how I am used to eating them here). I think I actually prefer them the way they make them. My husband recently discovered their carne asada fries which are awesome! If you are going to try anything there, we suggest those. They are open late too, so it's a great place to go to on those weekend party nights or just when you are having some late night cravings. They are solely a drive-thru though, so do not go there if you are expecting to sit down! Although, they do have some small tables outside if you wish to. read more

Always on point! Always! The food I get here is better than some Mexican restaurants I have been to. You definitely get your money's worth and sometimes more because the portions are huge! Usually go for the carne asada fries or carne asada burrito. Had the chicken chimichanga tonight and it was amazing and huge! Remember to tip! They kick ass to get food out fast! I'm a bartender and I work late hours so around 2 in the morning, I stopped by for a late dinner. My total was about $9 so I handed them a 10 dollar bill. Whoever was working the window told me my $10 bill was "no good" so I handed them a $20 bill EXPECTING my $10 bill back. Nope. They handed me my food, KEPT my 10 and the change from my 20 and absolutely REFUSED to give me my money!! So over all I'm spending $30 for a cheese quesadilla?? I spent probably 20 minutes in this drive through trying to get my money back, very prepared to call the police if this escalated anymore. I have had over a dozen people tell me about Taco Star stealing their money. Over $50 - 100 charged on their card, keeping the change for themselves when paid with cash etc etc. As a bartender I deal with plenty of drunkies.. so I don't know if this is their idea to steal money from drunk people at 2 or 3 in the morning expecting them not to notice??? Well I was 100% sober & am seriously thinking about taking further action. Please do not waste your time or money. I live in this community & am more than happy to spread the word. read more

I'm a big supporter of small family businesses, and especially Mexican food. I stopped by last night and did not have the best experience. My wife ordered two fish burritos and I ordered a chicken burrito. Unfortunately, it was not the cook's best night to say the least. My burrito was simply chicken rolled into a tortilla (nothing else), and upon the first bite I was not able to go any further. My wife's fish burritos (according to her) were not all that tasty as well, and were left untouched after the firs bite as well. In summary, I paid $16 for two bites total - no bueno! read more

I love the food here. It always tastes amazing. But not one time have they ever got my order right. And its not just me. Everyone i know that has ate here says the same thing. They cant get an order right to save there life. I like to get a green, smoothed burrito, sometimes carne asada, sometimes shredded chicken. With beans and rice on the side, with a side of sour cream and guacamole. I've got a burrito, not smoothered with green sauce, with guacamole and sour cream mixed all in my rice, I've got a smothered burrito with the beans and rice inside instead of on the side. But for some reason rather I speak Spanish to them or not if my friend orders it, they can't give me what I order, a smothered burrito with the beans and rice on the side and a side of sour cream and guac. Really not that hard. It's a shame and such a hassle because like I said there food is good. They just need better employees. I live fairly close so I have went here a lot just hoping that one time just one time they will get it right. I'm always so upset when I leave there. I really don't get it. It's not a difficult order. In fact it's on the menu. Im affraid to order anything else for fear of what they might give me. So please please please taco star get better employees, ones that r bi lingual and have better customer service skills. I might add that I've only gone there for dinner, after 5pm, 7pm. Maybe the day crew is better but we really need to fire the night crew and get better people in here. Oh and heaven forbid u order through uber eats.
