I was for decades quite the Taco Time fan but then one evening in 2019 I got the worst little burrito I'd ever had in my life, a tube of dried out bean-dust that could gag a dog, and I stopped eating at Taco Time cold turkey so to speak for about three years or so. I hadn't suspected they'd made an awful, awful mistake but assumed had somehow changed the recipe after 40 years to something inedible. But then after a few years I did try that simple bean burrito again and it was the great thing I'd been eating since I was young, so after long absence I was back. Now I eat Taco Time regularly again. I even order those crisp bean burritos frozen in sets of four from Smith Farms Milk for delivery once a week to the door, and those burritos are my go-to treat a couple times a week. Sorry to have missed out on them for a few years, but every restaurant, chain or otherwise, should know it only takes one incredibly bad meal to lose a customer for a long while. Besides the crisp bean burrito to which I'm semi-addicted, I also like the soft bean-and-cheese burrito, the veggie burrito (pretty much the same as the soft veggie taco), crisp pinto bean taco, veggie bowl, tostada bean and salad, mexi-fries, fiesta bean platter, pretty much all the vegetarian options. "Fast Food" has a demeaning sound to it as a generality, but Taco Time has good stuff. read more

While the manager is a delightful human (this was abundantly clear on both of our visits to this location), our food experience at this visit was definitely not as delightful. All of our tacos were lukewarm. The requested light sauce on my taco forgotten completely. The crustos were chewy versus crispy. It was just not a great showing. We did notice that the restaurant seemed severely understaffed, so I'm guessing that contributed to the disappointing experience. We're hopeful the owners can figure that out, as we'd certainly like to visit again. read more

I'm not really sure what's going on with this taco time they seem to be very slow in preparation of food. Don't listen to you when you place your order of what you are actually ordering. I worked for taco time in high school and I tell you the taco time these days lack flavor they just don't season anything. We ordered a couple of crispy beef burritos and some regular softshell tacos and the meat just didn't have any kick to it or much flavoring and it's so hard with the salsa to have it come in a container rather than a little packet to put on your meal and even the salsa was very bland taco time salsa used to be fantastic. And sadly their prices oh my goodness they are so pricey this is like going to a five-star restaurant price. read more

I have driven by this location plenty of times. We always say, we need to try taco time. Today was the day. Walked into the seating area and was immediately greeted by the cashier. Our first time here, we were a bit overwhelmed with the menu. The cashier was so very patient with us! I ended up deciding on a beef burrito meal which included tater tots and fountain drink. My wife ordered the cilantro line chicken salad with a fountain drink. Came out to 19 Dollars and change. We sat down in a booth, which was very clean. The seating area of the restaurant was spotless. They really stay on top of the cleanliness of this seating area. We arrived around 1pm and there was ample seating. Our food was delivered to our table by staff. I thought the burrito was good, tots were good too. My wife enjoyed the salad. We will definitely be back again. read more

Awesome location! They always have gotten my order right and it always tastes fresh. The drive thru is manageable and the line always moves decently fast. Cashiers are friendly and always hook it up with the sauce. Love this business, especially in comparison to the other fast food chains in town. Since moving here I've noticed the quality of fast food chains is terrible in Port Orchard and always get your order wrong, with an attitude. But literally this is the best fast food restaurant in town! They always get it right. read more

As far as fast food, this is my favorite place. However this location is likely my last visit. Friendly service, food tasted as expected, however the cleanliness of the entire place was something you'd see in a hoarders tv show. Soda machine was dripping with sticky syrup. Lid holder was just as sticky. Tables not wiped. Cleanliness around tables doesn't look like it's ever seen bleach. Floor had good grip due to being sticky likely from soda spills. Just doesn't seem to be any sense of ownership. Even as a sat with my son, an employee sat to eat, then got up and walked right passed a table with trash on it and trash on the floor. Tile missing from floor edge. A/C vents in the ceiling are a solid black. Ceiling tiles are broken and in disrepair above registers. Restroom was barely usable for hygiene purposes. That's all that we could see from the front. I don't want to think about what it's like behind the scenes. Sorry, for being honest but if I was the owner I'd want it given to me straight. Ordered two orders from here and got the completely wrong items. One was just a bean burrito with cheese and sour cream and some how it ended up with lettuce, tomato, and rice? And the taco i ordered was labeled that it was beef like i ordered but there wasnt even the tiniest bit of beef on it. Really just not satisfied with the experience. Being that i have worked fast food in the past i know it really isnt that difficult to keep track of orders and put them in bags. Will not come to this facility again. read more

I love this location, I've been here a few times since I've moved to Kitsap, and every single time has been a pleasant experience! The employees are always so cheerful and and wonderful. Terrible experience, food took forever to be made and we were the only car in the drive through. Then when we finally got our food it was cold. I'm actually pretty impressed with that, never had food I got in a drive through be cold. Didn't get anything right, took the cashier about ten minutes just to understand the kids meal portion of our order (no special requests), and not good service. Everyone was running around. I highly recommend this location! It's clean and the staff is super friendly. They get busy but I feel they keep up very well. I have watched them make the food, it's not like other fast food places where things are sitting under a heat lamp until someone orders them. Went to the drive-through because I had a family of five waiting for me to come home with their dinner. Imagine my disappointment when I open my classic beef burrito and found nothing but a bunch of chicken and beans! The tape on the wrapper even said "beef" my husband was fine eating the chicken. He was THAT hungry, but I could not have that. I had to race back just to have the gal take my opened one, that I had bitten in to then only gave me ONE in return(when they clearly f'd up two) After all, they made the mistake. It even said BEEF on the receipt! The employees also have their hair hanging in loose ponytails one guy just had a bun on top with the rest loosely hanging down. Disgusting!! Even Taco Bell employees wear hairnets! What kind of a unsanitary issue is that?! During a virus no less! I will never go to TACO TIME again. I will gladly drive the extra mile or two to go to Taco Bell. At least they are what they are and they're more sanitary as well. If they screw up an order which, stuff happens they APOLOGIZE and they say keep what you have and we'll gladly fix the mistake. We went again more recently and they took a while, then the guy almost forgot our drinks, then once we left my drink wasnt even right and I cannot have the certain drink he gave me because it makes me ill. I just had an unbelievable experience at this establishment. After scanning the large menu board above the counter for the items that had their gluten free icon next to them, I ordered the crispy chicken tacos. Fortunately, before I paid for my meal I mentioned that I needed to order them because they were a gluten free choice. The person cooking overhead our conversation and told the counter girl "Oh, they are cooked in the same oil as the gluten items so they really aren't gluten free". Gluten free people- beware! Their menu board does not tell the truth! I am so glad I found out in time and didn't get sick. Needless to say, we won't be back. read more

My family regularly visits Taco Time, but this was my last time. The young lady handling the orders sounded rude. No happy and appreciative welcome when I placed my order. Not once was there a thank you. Matter of fact, when I received my order, the young lady just handed me my order and shut the drive up window closed. My hot items were luke warm and were not tasty. For the price I paid for our meal, I can go to numerous other Mexican restaurants in Port Orchard and get better tasting and better service than I received last night. I was shocked with the service and quality of food. I was very surprised that this Taco Time restaurant was pretty empty for a Saturday night. They lost my family as a loyal customer and I am going to tell all of my friends to go somewhere else. This place needs to go out of business because they do not know what service is all about.
