A casual mention that Taco Time in Snohomish ranked high for tasty Mexican food by an acquaintance prompted my first time visit last month. Dine in and drive through was available. I swung by at 11:45 AM and hit the drive through. The parking lot had five cars. Not too busy. And I noticed that the parking lot was clean and store front was inviting. The first direct user experience with this place was the menu board and the drive through staff. Friendly and professional voice. Easy to read menu - organized and the font size was appreciated - no squinting required. I ordered a soft chicken burrito and beef taco. One car ahead of me. Wait time about 1 minute. The food was HOT. Fresh. And filled the car with the aroma of Mexican food and a promise of good eats. It didn't disappoint. Taco was fresh, bright flavors. Seasoning was balanced. You knew it was a beef taco. The chicken burrito was HOT. Fresh. The wrap was fully loaded and as I pulled it out of the bag I noticed not only the temperature but the heft. The weight of the thing. Clearly a generous portion. The construction was balanced so it was wrapped perfectly and held its shape until the very end. (Past experience has been mixed with some vendors who wrap incorrectly, resulting in a handful of mush near the end of the burrito). I particularly found the seasoning and the filling to be perfect: moist and firm, rich and balanced flavors. The only unfortunate thing about the burrito was that I only bought one. It was filling but the flavor left me wanting more. (Sauces were offered. I declined. I tried the home made Ranch. Creamy. But I like mine with more seasoning. Plenty of napkins provided). So. I came back for a late dinner the same day. Why not? At 8:25 PM who wants to make a mess in the kitchen after getting home? If you have worked in the food industry on any level, closing the kitchen or service area is a balance of shutting down making food while using whatever is left. In an ideal world, you guess how much to make to last you up until you're officially closed and no longer serving food. It sometimes results in a minimum satisfactory product: just enough to qualify to be sold, but not the typically robust product you usually make. So hitting a restaurant near closing increases the risk of substandard food. (And experiencing the quiet fury of a kitchen staff who does work at a difficult low paying job and is tired and wants to go home. There is nothing worse than having customers coming in after everything is sanitized and your forced to undo that hard work resulting in staying longer). So I ordered two soft chicken burrito through the once again friendly sounding staff drive through. And at that late time I was not surprised to find them lukewarm and the portion size not close to the size I had at lunch time. The flavor was still there though. And my kitchen would be clean. I pass this experience along to you so you can avoid the pitfall of ordering near the end of the business day. If at all possible, order ahead. Creating the filling for a chicken burrito is vastly different from frying burgers. I wouldn't expect to hold them to identical standards. The same for Asian food or pizza. It's more labor intensive. Call ahead. I now consider Taco Time another quick, friendly, clean, and tasty offering in Snohomish that I'll enjoy. The chicken burrito is also served in a crispy version, which will be my next venture. I look forward to it. During lunch or at dinner time. Two chicken burritos ran under the $15.00 mark. Five stars for a menu that sticks to common sense instead of trying to make the Guinness Book of World Records in the number of menu items for a Mexican fast food chain. Four stars - they took the normal one star hit for the late night order. Tip: In cases where I couldn't deliver a five star product for whatever reason, I'd give the customer a heads up and suggest an alternative menu item or cut them a discount. Management gave us leeway to discount in these rare situations up to 35 percent. Which was a great way of creating a loyal customer base. read more

Yo!! So we came up on this place and it said the Yelp average was 2.7...yikes! But we were hungry and thought why not? For real it's nice in here, like real nice. True, you're a good hike from the front door to the register but I can still walk so no problem there! We ordered, our "server" was happy, helpful and when he wasn't able to answer a question his manager was quick and amazing. So we pay & then as we were getting our drinks OUR FOOD CAME OUT!! I love that Taco Time has options with actual vegetables. It's my go to QSR and I always get the white chicken chili. A few months ago, they started asking if I wanted a spoon instead of just including one in the bag. Okay, love it, let's conserve. However, literally 80% of the time they don't put a spoon in the bag when I say I want one. I think they need to just go back to including the spoon regardless or implement a better system for remembering the spoon. read more

I love Taco Time! It's my guilty pleasure and even more so now that I have moved away from the Northwest. I've always loved their chicken soft taco and now I actually crave it when I'm in San Diego, which is odd because there is a lot of good Mexican down here. However, I don't consider Taco Time to be true Mexican food. It's not and I'm okay with that. Honestly, their chicken soft taco is more like a chicken ranch wrap and I couldn't be happier with it. The chicken, shredded cheese, lettuce, tomato and ranch is everything I could ever want wrapped in a tortilla. Throw in an order of Mexi fries and I'm in heaven. This was my first visit to this Taco Time in my hometown and I must say that I was impressed with the cleanliness and appearance of the restaurant. There was hardly anyone else here on a Sunday night and we received our food relatively quickly. No complaints here! read more

I've done pick-up from this location twice and it's really good. Very convenient and fast. I ordered the pinto bean salad and it's a small salad with lettuce, pinto beans and cheddar cheese. It's not too big, however, it's very filling. Chips also come with it. This Taco Time also has very good service. 5 stars all the way! read more

This brand new taco Time just opened not too long ago. I was impressed by the nice and clean dining room. Feels roomy and comfortable. 5*****'s! The disappointment came to the staff. The cashier (Aeris) appears very young, inexperienced, and poorly trained. She does not know how to greet guests. She was also rusty on taking orders and collecting payment. Horrible place! In general I love Taco Time, but steer clear of the Snohomish branch, because they are a different breed entirely. First off the place has no right to call themselves a fast food place, today I was as in the drive thru line for a half hour. And the size of the line was not the cause, the fact that the line didn't move was. Two different cars behind me in the line actually gave up and pulled out of line! And then there is the food... if you get it then it's semi decent. But don't expect to get the food you actually wanted and ordered. The last 3 times they messed up my order, and sadly the last 2 times I only found out once I got home. Frankly three strikes and they are out, I'm never going there again. Poor Customer service. For some time now, at other locations, I've been getting the tomatoes on the crisp tacos cut up. I ask for this, stating that is for a younger child who has trouble eating such a big slice of tomato and nearly choked more than once and an order for a child with special needs. Last night I experienced lying, rudeness and such poor customer service I doubt I will be back to Snohomish Taco Time and time soon, if ever. The counter employee almost looked shocked when I asked for the tomatoes to be cut up and I did explain why. He said we can't cut those up and actually said we don't have a knife. Looking into the window of the kitchen lay a large knife on a cutting board. I pressed a little and was overtaken by the lying and lack of cooperation to fulfil a very simple request. I told the employee to cancel my order. He then came back from the kitchen and told me, they would cut the tomatoes 'this time' but not again in the future. It literally took less than 30 seconds to cut the tomatoes and get them to me. Such unneeded frustration for again, a simple request. Worst experience ever!!!! So I call my daughter & ask her if she wanted me to stop by & pickup some lunch, I give her a few choices & she says Taco Time, perfect, I'll whip through the drive thru! I put in my order, two Chicken Soft Tacos, one small Mexi-Fry, Chips & Salsa, & two sides of Ranch. Easy Breezy! Wrong! I get to the window finally as their was two cars ahead of me, but I'm okay with that, it's lunchtime after all.. I'm told sorry we're out of chicken but we can replace it with beef. Yuk, but in my haste I said ok. She comes back hands me my bag of food & says you got the last chicken, YaY me! I take a quick peek & notice that she only gave me one (what I thought was Ranch) container, I point that out to her she's annoyed, walks back & grabs a sour cream, I tell her I asked for Ranch which at that point she walks back totally annoyed now & hands me two Ranch. I pull forward away from the drive thru and check my bag only to notice that they didn't put the Mexi-Fries in the bag!!?!! Holy Mother of God!!!!! Now I have to park and go inside!!! Not happy to say the least, it was suppose to be a quick drive thru visit. I park, go inside expecting a restaurant full of patrons as it's lunchtime.. I literally counted three people. An elder man sitting alone waiting for food & an elderly couple sitting near the window. I go to the counter, nobody. I wait for what seemed like an eternity, a young guy comes up I tell him my dilemma & show him my receipt & bag of food. He goes to the back which seemed like an eternity again, hands me my Mexi-Fries & I finally get to leave. I get home give my daughter her food, she goes for the Chips & Salsa & the Chips are stale. The Mexican-Fries are bone cold, & the Chicken Soft Tacos are pretty sparse with the chicken. Everything about going there was a mess!!! Next time I'll drive to the Taco Time on 164th and I'll be staying away from the one in Snohomish. After reading the other reviews for this Taco Time I see that I'm not the only one to get terrible service there. read more

I drive 15 miles round trip and I am tired of getting home and finding out a taco, some other entree or dressing or hot sauce or chips is absent. I was so excited when TT came to Snohomish and nearly everytime I've gone there they mess up my order (ie beef instead of bean) or leave something out completely! I feel they are completely incompetent, even tonight's order after paying for a crisp bean burrito, did I get it? Nope! And now I'm home and am not going to run back and get it, so that was a waste of 3$, as well as opening the bag and seeing my ranch is spilt all over inside is also awesome. This location is very nice and well maintained. The food is always excellent. I go at least 1-2 times a week and usually more often. The people there are extremely friendly and try hard to service you quickly, but are careful about giving you personal service. I have a lot of options for fast mexican. Was then told when I saw my receipt and I saw it said beef I told the orange hair "Tristan" That it was wrong he then told me that "Whatever the screen says is what's gets ordered" and I said wel I'm sorry for not catching that when I hear you say "Chicken number 3" back to me I think I'm getting the right order. It's really disappointing every time I come here. I have waited at the front counter for 10 minutes before. They are extremely unstaffed. They are very clueless and they take forever to make the food and get it out. Today I waited over 20 minutes for my food and they weren't even busy yet. Lake Stevens Taco Time is amazing! They are great at customer service, they greet their customers, and they always are very fast at getting food out! I've never had an issue with Lake Stevens Taco Time, only this one. read more

I wish 0 stars was an option. I've been a customer of this location since it opened in Snohomish. Since its opening, I've gotten home and found something wrong with my order probably 5-7 times. The first few times I assumed they were just working out the kinks of a new business - no problem. The next couple times, I started to think maybe it was my fault for not opening the food and checking before I leave. The last couple times, I realized it's a result of just poor management. Today I went through the drive-thru and was served by Connor. Very nice kid, but we did wait 5-7 minutes for our food. I realized one of the sodas we got was not the kind I ordered, so he replaced it and apologized. No big deal. When we got home, I took a bite out of my taco and realized it was beef and cheese, when I had asked for bean with no cheese due to my dietary restrictions. I was frustrated about having to go back at this point because I don't live close. In the time it took me and my fiance to get back to the restaurant, his soft taco and both of our mexi fries were soggy and cold. When I went inside, I talked to a girl named Maria at the register. Really sweet, but timid and not sure what to do about it. At this point she said they could remake my beef taco, but not the rest of the food. I let her know it was disappointing, and that it wouldn't have been cold if there hadn't been a mistake on the items. I asked to speak to the manager at this point because obviously it wasn't Maria's fault and I could tell she was uncomfortable. I waited in the lobby for 15 minutes until Amber finally came out. She was rude immediately and said she would need to get through the entire drive thru line before she could help me. She said I should've waited for my fiance to eat his meal at home before coming back, so that the food wouldn't have gotten cold. Never once did she apologize. I asked for a refund. She went in the back and didn't come back out - she sent Maria to give me the void receipt. This is the last time I'll visit after having the misfortune of meeting who's in charge of running the place. Even the teenage girl at the register had the decency to apologize, and focused on what she could do in the situation. Just picked up 4 crisp pinto bean burritos and a order of mexi fries for lunch the burritos were great,maybe a little cheesier than usual. The mexi fries were as usual,good... The hot sauce was not even close to the standard of what you would expect. Stopped in to get a "quick" bite for the kids as we were on our way somewhere. Only 2 cars in the drive thru and 1 was at the pick up window so figured this wouldn't take long. It took more than 15 minutes to get my order. They ask me to pull forward and 3 cars get their food and leave behind me, I finally go inside to ask for my money back so we can leave. The lady leaves for about 2 minutes and comes back to tell me that the food "has already been delivered to my car". I'm super frustrated at this point and she says "don't you have other people in the car with you?". So NOT the point, I say "yes, my kids are in the car. So you are telling me that in the time I came in here, someone ran out to my car with my order but it literally took you 2-3 full minutes to figure that out?" They must have went out a side door because no one came through the lobby. When I asked my teenage child why she didn't come tell me they got the food, she said the girl literally dropped it off right before I came back out. While I'm standing at the counter, they (knowing I was at said counter) left me there for 2 minutes while they ran it outside. Wow - worst customer service I've ever received. They should have told me it would take 15 minutes to cook a burrito and I would have opted for something else or nothing at all. These kids need some training or a manager on site to help them deal with situations like this. read more
