So I came over here for the lotteria sorta like bingo has prizes but I didn't feel lucky which makes a difference. Large colorful cards with different pictures and numbers kinda like a tarot card but larger. They call out the number and name of the card and how the game is going to be blackout all spaces outer perimeter or inside middle. I got some chips and salsa an a arancia margarita. Played a few games shuffled a few decks so I got a raffle ticket but didn't stay for the final so I passed it on . Some of the winners played another game pin the tail on the donkey blindfolded. . They got raffle tickets if the won again . A pretty fun time bartender we're very proficient as we're all the staff a pretty cool place. Probably return again and try my luck again. It starts at 6 goes on for probably 2 hours cause I left after 7:30 an it was still going on . I forgot about the food although I ordered the fish tacos to go as well as the tamales for my friend. There was not a lot great going on here. I feel like when tacolicious first opened it had all this energy, it was clean, the food was good and innovative. There was energy it was a vibe. Nowadays it's more business as usual. It happens with a lot of established restaurants. We came by in the afternoon and got a couple of tacos. The service was very slow. It was great service when available but I think they were understaffed. The food was fine. Nothing really exciting or complicated. But what was a stand out was the salsa! They do have great salsa. I came here at an odd time - 3ish on a Tuesday so my experience may not be the norm. On the whole, I thought the food was mediocre. I had 3 tacos, from best to worst: shrimp, beef, fish. The shrimp was delicious, fried crispy then layered with a sauce that complimented it well. The beef was not bad with a decent amount of beef. The fish taco had way too much batter on the fish - I had to take it apart just to eat it. Free chips and salsa but the chips were mid and honestly I'd rather pay money for better chips. The cheese dip was huge, pricey for cheese dip, and oddly sweet. Service was great though. Our server was friendly and professional, making sure to check on us frequently. I appreciated this since we were sitting outside and sometimes that can lead to being neglected. The outside seating was nice with options to sit on the busier Chestnut Street side or the quieter Avila Street side. We opted for a table on the quieter side with overhead heaters that our server offered to turn on for us. I think the current yelp rating of 3.5 ish stars is correct but since I can't rate with half stars, I'm bumping this up to a 4 for the good service. read more

I'm happy I was able to try Tacolicious while I was in San Francisco. I have used their cookbook for years. My husband and I came here on a beautiful sunny day so we sat out on the patio. We each got two tacos and split an order of elote corn. Highly recommend getting the corn!! All the flavors were really tasty! I really liked the orange sauce! The drinks were also great. We got a margarita and a paloma. Our server was great and answered all my questions and got us everything we needed. Can't wait to get back here next time I find myself in San Francisco! read more

The three carrots were so under cooked that I couldn't cut them. Maybe don't cook at all and do separate. The three broccolini pieces were stringy, but at least cooked. Don't order. The salad was yummy. There's enough to get on the menu that's good, but with other places to go, I would love it if they could do better with the carrots. read more

I do not like this place. I've been multiple times when craving mexican food, always hoping to have it grow on me and it never does. This part of the city needs more authentic mexican food - the food is just mid and expensive. The guac is $14... the queso is also $14 and not even good. Very pricy but on the plus side the tacos actually have a good portion of meat/protein in them and they don't skimp. They did get my drink order wrong but otherwise the staff was friendly and explained all the different sauces. Didn't have a reservation but we didn't have to wait. This chain used to be my go to for good tacos and drinks, but they've changed their menu a lot over the years and I don't think the quality was retained. As someone who loves to health-ify unhealthier food at home, I appreciated the effort to do the same throughout the menu, but I feel that it compromised the taste too much to be a craveable option when eating out. I think it's still good for a quick snack or happy hour option while in the vicinity, though! It can form a line out of the door, but it moves quick with the fast service and tightly packed interior and outdoor seating. Last time I went there for happy hour on a Friday afternoon and we got seated right away outside while it was warm. They have decent chips and salsa to tide you over while you wait for more food. My old favorite drink used to be the passion, but it tasted too juicy/sweet now and not really spicy anymore. A classic skinny margarita is your best bet for a less sweet drink. read more

We stood there for a few minutes and watched as 4-5 outdoor tables closed out and left. And the food when we ordered, it was so overly fatty and overly spiced that it was barely edible. The chips that are served before you eat are not even as good as Doritos. The poor, poor overwhelmed servers, barely visit your table. I'm sorry to say that this restaurant is on our no go list now. Sitting outside you are bombarded by homeless people. I love the food here, the tacos are amazing, but, I recently had a very bad experience with the service. This happened on a Sunday, and the restaurant closes at 9:00 PM. My friends and I arrived around 8:40, and we were seated without any issue. We were told we could still order and that it wouldn't be a problem. However, we experienced several issues. We ordered a Coke at the beginning of the meal, but it wasn't brought to us until we were completely finished with our food, and that was after reminding them about it. I also had to ask at least three times for paper napkins before someone finally brought them. Overall, it was very unpleasant trying to get any assistance; I would call for a waiter and be completely ignored. Even then, I tried to be understanding because it was close to closing. The last straw was when the check came. Our bill came out to about $93, and we tipped 8% based on the service we received. The waiter then asked if something was wrong, but not in a polite or constructive way. I calmly and respectfully explained why I felt the service hadn't been good. His response was simply, "Well, it's the end of the night," said in a very rude tone, and then he turned his back and walked away. I still try to be understanding, but we left around 9:10 PM, and there were still other customers dining. If a restaurant can't provide proper service after a certain time, they shouldn't seat customers that late. But if you choose to accept customers, you should still provide good and respectful service. I could be okay with all of that except the rude waiter. You may ask about your trip, but you can never be that rude to a customer. I have suggested this place to a lot of my friends because of their tacos, but this was so disappointing and I'm not sure even if I would ever go back! read more
