First time trying Taco Mania at Valley Fair, and I can't believe I waited this long! The tacos were absolutely to die for. I was so hungry that I completely forgot to take pictures because I started eating right away. Halfway through my meal I realized, "I should've snapped a few photos!" I'll definitely do that next time. The whole family loved it. My family ordered a variety of tacos, and my son got a burrito. Everyone kept saying it was some of the best Mexican food they've had in a long time. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. I've always wanted to try Taco Mania, and I'm so glad I finally did. If you're at Valley Fair or in the West San Jose area, this place is definitely worth a visit. I always walk past this spot whenever I come to the mall, so I finally decided to try it today. I ordered the food on their website & pick it up whenever it's ready, which saves me time waiting in the store. I got the carne asada taco (bottom) and the birria taco (top). 1 star. Worst service I've experienced in a while. I waited in line for about 5 minutes with my stroller and one-year-old, following the same line as multiple customers in front of me. There were no signs or directions showing where the line actually started. When it was finally my turn and I began ordering, the cashier, Nancy, interrupted me mid-sentence to say, "next time the line is on the other side," and then immediately said she was going to help the person behind me instead. I was genuinely confused because I had been clearly waiting in line the entire time, right behind other customers. It made no sense and felt extremely rude and dismissive. This place is a Taqueria in Westfield Valley Fair Mall. Very easy to walk by because it's small and doesn't stand out but we noticed it, and it was delicious! We ordered a Suadero (beef brisket) Super Burrito with the flour tortilla toasted with their rice and beans and it was delicious. The whole beans were so flavorful and the rice was fluffy and equally flavorful. The Al Pastor Super Taco was a hit as well. This place is perfect for a casual bite to eat. You order at the counter and the place has a small staff but very friendly and helpful. There is indoor seating, a few tables there. Taco Mania is a relatively new addition to Westfield mall. The place looks clean and the workers are friendly. The tacos came out pretty quickly (under 5 minutes). There's no line and really the reason is food quality. Do you like your meat and tortillas tasteless and chewy? I don't either. The pork belly was like leather and the tortillas were dry and nasty. They didn't cook it per order but rather warmed the food from premade batches. I've eaten here several times. With plenty of parking available, this place is very easy to find in the Valley Fair mall. With so many places to eat at in the mall, I find myself regularly returning here. Good cheap eats. You can't go wrong ordering a few tacos here before shopping in the mall. There are plenty of protein options and TM is great for meat lovers and vegetarians alike. Dinner: Asada Super Taco Al Pastor Taco [2] Carne Asada Taco Tripa Burrito While all the food was pretty good, the disappointing side was how wet the super taco was. My opinion, save the $1.25 and go for the regular taco unless you're all about that messy, soggy kind of life. Tripa [intestines] in general was the highlight of the meal. I try to communicate that as clearly as I can whenever I order from places that do burritos and most of the time they get it right. I don't know why but sometimes it doesn't get through to the place and they mess it up. Today I ordered two burritos from "Tacomania", both without onions or beans. Bit into the first one and was instantly disappointed, cut the second one in half and of course both were full of the only two Ingredients I asked them to leave off. The quesabirria tacos were delicious and loaded with birrea and cheese...however the consommé had no flavor at all. It was so watered down. It tasted like they forgot to add salt and spices. Other than that everything else was delicious. The three tacos were a bit too much for me. Next time I would only order two and hope that the consommé is better next time. Service was good. The meats were seasoned well and the salsa they offered was a good addition. The rice and beans however were okay to me. The rice lacked flavor for Spanish rice and the beans were okay.
