Enjoyed my date night there! Enjoyed the food and the service. Pros: The service was quick and food came out quick. The place is spacious so even though it's loud, you're not on top of other guests. I liked the idea that you just put the quantity of what you want from the menu to order instead of saying it to the server because it was a bit too loud. The server came to check on us as we were eating our food which made the experience very smooth. The decors are cute and the table setting as well. The tacos I ordered were pretty good! I would go back there for Girls night or another date night! Cons: The menu is limited, not a lot to choose from. It's a bit dark at night. The chairs were not comfortable to sit on and the drinks were okay. I still enjoyed myself even if everything was not to my liking. read more

Love the beef quesadilla, it actually have flavor. It is very small so if you're hungry order more than one. The watermelon margarita is very sour, I figured since it was watermelon flavored it would have a slight sweetness. read more

Excellent food at a great price. The serving size was perfect as well. I ordered a bean burrito, which I loved, and my sister ordered one fish taco and one bean and sweet potato taco, and she loved her order as well. The burrito was SO flavorful with lots of interesting spices. It was the perfect size as well - definitely not hungry afterwards but not uncomfortably stuffed either - and for only $6.95 I think! Very full though. The storefront was really nice looking too for those planning to dine in person. There were tons of tables outside, and the restaurant has a cool all white look going on. I been here a couple of times, and the service compared with other locations is the worst, I believe when ever I go to this location Jessica treat us so despicable, the superiority complex on the part of the Latin waitresses is IRRATIONAL, the difference in service and xenophobia is clearly noticeable, which hurts that a "Latin" restaurant is so humiliated with Latin costumers. IS NOT THE FIRST TIME I always hesitated of writing a review (thinking that maybe she was having a bad day) but today was horrible... for me my kid and my family. I hope when ever I go we never get "served" by her since the other staff is more respectful. Walked in at 5:58PM on a Thursday. It looked empty, I asked for a table for 2 and the hostess said it'll be about a 20 minute wait unless we wanted to grab a seat at the bar. We choose to sit at the bar because we wanted to be in and out anyways to catch a 7PM Screening at BAM across the street. We settled at the bar and by the time we sat on the stool the restaurant was PACKEd! Whew! Talk about timing! We were greeted and given a menu to fill in our orders. It's pretty pricey, ranging from $4 - $8 for a single taco. We ordered: - Watermelon Soda - Avocado Tostada - Acapulco Shrimp Taco - Black Bean and Sweet Potato Taco - VERACRUZANA Campechanos - Gallo Quesadillas Everything was tasty, but the VERACRUZANA Campechanos was PHENOMENAL!!! The team also moves very effectively and efficiently. We were done, paid and stuffed by 6:30PM. It you're looking to splurge on tasty tacos, I would recommend this place. Decent taco spot with good drinks. I feel like it's hard to get really good tacos in a casual, sit down place in NYC (honestly if it's not out of a truck or little bodega, it's probably just ok) so I'm glad this opened up nearby. You order through an order form so it's a little faster than more traditional waiter service but they don't rush you at all so it's a nice convenience. The interior (and exterior) is really cute and there's lots of indoor and outdoor seating for when it's nice out. All considered, 4 stars, but if this place were in California, tacos would be 3 stars. read more

Extremely disappointed by my experience at Tacombi earlier this evening. I have heard great things about this restaurant with multiple locations throughout NYC but was unsatisfied in every aspect of my meal as were my friends who joined me. First of all the service was horrible-we sat down and nobody came over to our table for at least 20 minutes to even take our drink order (their drink menu is very disappointing too with only 1-2 beers and 1-2 liquor drinks). We were finally able to place our order and this is where things continued to go downhill. The portion of guacamole and chips for appetizer was miniscule and subpar for almost $13 and the corn appetizer was okay but ice cold. Our food took forever to come out and we got our appetizers and after two of us got two of our tacos which were ice cold and came out way before everyone else had their main courses, it didn't make any sense at all. Perhaps they were just having an off night or were short staffed because the waitress kept saying the kitchen was very backed up. Eventually our food came for the group but everything was mixed up--random tacos were put in platters with other tacos and we had to sort the food out on our own for everyone when it arrived. The tacos themselves were decent but way overpriced for their size as well plus there are no sides of rice and/or beans just a simple taco for almost $7+. They forgot to bring our appetizer quesadilla and we had to ask multiple times for them to bring it--the waitress told us she would check on it but it may be a long wait--it eventually came. We asked for extra chips about 3 times until they finally came and we had to ask for hot sauce multiple times which finally came. All and all it was a very lackluster meal for multiple reasons-nothing really positive to say about this restaurant--there are so many wonderful Mexican places in Brooklyn-I would suggest going elsewhere for sure...the portions were so tiny and expensive we ended up getting pizza after dinner! :( read more

I've been to Tacombi multiple times and recommend the Avocado Tostada, Tacos al Pastor, Crispy Fish Taco, Taco de Carnitas, Quesadilla Gringa, Guacamole, Corn Esquite and agua de pina. I went here with friends during COVID a few days ago. We sat outside on their sidewalk, but were plenty far from the portion of the sidewalk where people were walking by and there was adequate space between the tables. We shared the chips and guac and corn for an appetizer and it was all really good. The margarita came in a closed bottle and we were provided with cups, limes, and salt on the side. The margarita was $13, but there were two servings in the bottle. I got the avocado tostada and grilled fish taco as my main and really enjoyed both of them. Tacombi - 8oz of margarita - Mexican Near Me - Brooklyn, New York

The service here was efficient and friendly and the ambiance good, but you cannot eat or drink those. First, the margaritas were the worst I have ever had. The first one tasted like lemonade from a kids stand on the sidewalk- almost no lime flavor at all and absolutely no alcohol, by taste anyway. I strongly suspect they are made by the gallon from a mix hours before, then portioned out. The next margarita I ordered I asked for a tot of tequila to be added, and that tasted like a quite weak (it's served in tall glass) but normal margarita. The cost for the three? $42.00!! (They charged full price for the tot). The food tasted good, but they gave the smallest portions I have ever had in a restaurant on a normal, not tasting menu. I ordered the Baha fish taco which was the price of normal taco. ($6:75 if I recall correctly). There are no accompaniments. Red beans and rice, retried beans etc have to ordered separately. What arrived was a taco about 3" in diameter with two small cubes of (very good) blackened fish, but if you folded the taco in half it was about the size of a dimsum. Slim pickings indeed. I had to order 2 more to feel even vaguely like I had had a meal and even then it felt as if I'd only had starters. Price for the whole meal was $80 with tax and tip - very poor value for money and no, I am not going back. There are many other places who serve better Mexican food and cocktails at better prices. I doubt bad reviews touch them at all. I took a minute now to look at others on Yelp and there is a plethora of reviews saying basically the same as mine. HOWEVER some people love this place and it was packed, so go figure. read more

This restaurant has been in my neighborhood for quite some time. My parents and I wanted to get a quick bite to celebrate my birthday so we came here. It was really quick and easy for us to get a table, considering that it was 8pm on a Friday. Additionally, the area we sat in was wheelchair accessible which is great as my mom uses a scooter. For my tasting, the menu was pretty plain. But I tried to eat something I would enjoy so I got the sweet potato and black bean taco. It was pretty decent and it had a bit of spice to it. I also had the rice and beans which was good except they put a bunch of onions and cilantro on top which I don't mind but not on my rice. My mom had the al pastor taco and didn't enjoy it. My dad said that his food was decent. I can't remember what type of tacos he had but I do know he had Gallo quesadilla. For drinks we had margaritas, and beer. The margaritas were your average marg with no flavors added. It was strong but then again I also only had one cup. The service was also decent. We were checked on a good amount times but also they did mess up some of my dad's order and charged us extra for a taco we didn't have. Overall, I don't foresee myself coming back. But I do know it's pretty popular so this could be a me thing. read more

Right across from BAM, so Tacombi is perfect after a movie. The margaritas were pretty basic and nothing special. The guacamole was the highlight of the meal. The chips that come with it are thick so it's a filling appetizer. I had the chicken taco which I didn't particularly enjoy. There was no basic chicken option so I opted for the spicy chicken per the bartenders suggestion. Ouch! I left a little bit hungry. I will come back in the summer to sit in the outdoor area. Tacos are authentic. Great favors. I had the shrimp and Baja fish. Love the fact it's house made tortillas. Drinks was on point. I order the Mezcal and Paloma. Both had excellent favor. I have lived one city block from this place for almost 3 years and just now got around to grabbing takeout tonight. There was another restaurant nearby that I frequented with a similar menu, so I, being a slave to my last good meal, never deviated. Unfortunately, COVID has taken that place (RIP), so here I am, finally ordering from this flavorful little gem down the street. The star for me was the avocado tostada. Basically, I'm going back for the tostada because that crisp, creamy, tart, crunchy delight is worth it regardless of whatever else I order...but it just so happens that the esquites, sweet potato and black bean taco, and mushroom quesadilla were also stellar. There are other things that I want to try. Also, it should be noted for all you special order folks out there that I am part of the population that cannot tolerate and considers cilantro...sucklantro (please keep it on the side when possible, people - I'm looking at you Ch*pot!e) and they capably left it off of everything I requested. So I always been a patron of Tacombi pre covid and as far as I can see they are still killing it now too. They do temperature checks, have hand sanitizer and have social distancing. The service is still amazing. The outdoor seating was beautiful and warm especially if u get the seats at the rear. They have heating lamps which kept me and my friend very warm. The tacos were served in dishes I guess, planes used( when food was provided) very cool because our tacos were warm. Our server told us they now have a rewards app (Free tacos?) hopefully. All that was missing was a coffee or a champurado. Overall great experience. Keep up the good work. read more
