This is a goated spot in Simi, all the tacos are so fire and super good appetizers too! They have a friendly and attentive staff the only thing to keep in mind is that there's not a ton of seating and sometimes it's super busy and packed and you might have to wait for a table. When I arrived. 1- Do you have a pick up? Me- No I want to place an order to go. They denied me service claiming the kitchen closed already. Me- it's shows you guys closed at 10pm They claimed the kitchen closes at 9:50pm But I Arrived at 9:48pm. So I can tell they shut it down way before. So I drove 10 miles to get turn down. So why they even have hours post it on their door and websites? when they don't respect those hours? Bad, bad business & management. Mixed feelings here. The salsa and chips are great. The soft drinks are generous and they keep them topped off without us having to beg. My husband's carne asada burrito was big and savory. He enjoyed it. My "tostada" was... weird. What it really was, was shrimp ceviche atop a flat tortilla shell. Maybe I'm too Americanized but I was expecting lettuce and maybe refried beans underneath. Maybe some cheese on top... it was plentiful but a bit too heavy on the lime juice. Yeah I know that's how ceviche is "cooked" but something to offset the acidity would have been appreciated. In fact, something on the menu to say it's actually ceviche would have been helpful. I wouldn't have ordered it. Despite the quasi "cook" via lime juice, it actually is not cooked; it is raw and I'm not wild about raw shellfish. If you have a rear end larger than 32" you're going to want to sit along the far wall on the padded bench. The little metal chairs have that curved brace between the seat and back, that gouges your hip. Ouch. Forced to sit on the edge of the seat. There are TVs all around showing sports and several guys hunched over the bar. Maybe it's a good place to get a beer and watch the game. My friend and I stopped in here for dinner and we had a pretty good overall experience. Love finding new taco shops in the 805 and knowing this spot was newly renovated and opened, we were excited to give them a try. The shopping center is unassuming and I'm definitely glad I had my navigation on or I would have missed them. There seemed to be a good amount of parking and after hours the other businesses are closed in this center so definitely super easy then to get parking. The inside is super cute and welcoming. Definitely welcoming and I liked the more masculine vibes with big sports TVs and a nice bar top serving up beers and margaritas. The signage inside was cute and they have merch. Love that! Might come back for a sweatshirt. The menu was pretty large and I loved the variety of meats and options they had. Small beer selection and margaritas plus aguas for non alcohol drinkers. They have a nice selection of appetizers with even wings and such. Definitely come for the tacos or a burrito. Their menu was impressive and you can find something for everyone. Service was pretty good overall. The gal allowed us to sit at any table of our choosing and she was quick to offer us drinks and to take our order. She was nice. It was near closing so it wasn't busy. The only upgrade I would say is better attention to detail. I told the girl no tomatoes on my taco and they still came out with tomatoes. By the time I noticed she had walked away and I didn't want to make a fuss or have my friend stuck waiting on me to get a new plate so I just sucked it up. But I would say attention to details is important so swayed me from giving the full five stars. As for the tacos my friend and I both loved the meats! My friend was happy with her asada tacos. And I beyond loved my carnitas tacos! The meat wasn't crispy like I usually like but it was packed with flavor and super Good. Juicy and well seasoned, with the right amount of fat. I'll definitely come back for their carnitas again. The pescado taco was a miss for me. The fish was extremely fishy, wasn't sure if it was the freshest so that I would skip. Like I said the carnitas is where it's at and I'd be a happy camper coming here again for that. Prices are very reasonable and you get good bang for your buck. Who isn't searching for a good Taco place? A new arrival on the scene (since October 2023), is Tacos 805, in Simi Valley. It is a small and cozy sports bar, with a limited but exciting menu that highlights different Taco types. We started with the Quesabirria Taco (braised beef, melted cheese, red onions, and cilantro) and added on the consommé, The taco was beautifully prepared and succulent. The consommé ($3 extra) was the undisputed star of this dish. It had good color, a full body, the right viscosity and a rich taste. The added cilantro and onions provided texture and layers to this flavorful broth. The Taco Dorado (fried crunchy taco filled with shredded chicken, topped with too much lettuce, sour cream, green salsa and queso fresco) arrived at the table as if it only had lettuce (see my picture, everything else was buried). No optics. However, the taco was good. The Taquitos with shredded chicken also appeared invisible because there was an overdose of toppings. I had to pull out one of the 4 Taquitos from hiding to get a photo (see my pictures). Here too, the entree was well received. The place was packed for a weekday dinner night, and seemingly short staffed. Service was slow, but friendly, warm and elegant. Tried this place for the first time hoping to order a breakfast burrito because of positive reviews. I found out when I arrived that they don't serve breakfast burritos on weekdays. No problem. The place has a small bar ambience. It was crowded and they only had two people working front of house. I sat at the bar and waited for good while before someone came by to take my drink order. No drink came. Someone came by later for my food order, and I ordered the shrimp and steak burrito. My food came, but as I was eating, I discovered it was the wrong burrito. Still no drink arrived. I got the attention of someone who was not my waitress, and she apologized and told me they had given me the wrong order. My unsweetened ice tea finally arrived along with my correct order. The burrito was not impressive...cheese was cold and taste was on the bland side. My waitress never apologized for the mixup or wait, and it seemed she was expecting a nice tip when I cashed out as well. I'm not impressed with this place, and there are plenty of other places with good reviews in the area to try. read more

Have been wanting to try this place for a while but Simi is a bit of a mission at times for me... so I'm not out here often. Though I will travel for good food. I got two asada tacos at 3.50 each. I love jamaica and theirs is made just right . Not too sweet but sweet enough! I love aguas frescas but some places make them overly sweet. Service was kind not super friendly but nice enough. Location is in a strip mall. Decor is modern and clean. Overall, good experience. I think prices are fair in today's economy. I have seen asada tacos for as much as 6 bucks each in Oxnard. read more

Best fresh and tasty Mexican dishes, tacos, and margaritas in town! Food is always consistent and never disappoints. Grilled (you need to request it grilled) shrimp tacos are superb - and we Love their creamy style refried beans. Service is quick and super friendly and prices are reasonable. Disappointing that such a popular establishment cannot get their orders correctly. We ordered over 130$ worth of food and the first order that was submitted, a simple cheese quesadilla was missing from our order. We called the restaurant a few minutes after we got home to my brother's house, which was local, to make sure they refund us, but it has been 10 days and I'm pretty sure its not going to happen. The Mexicali tacos are made with flour and are delicious. The dorado tacos are fried corn shells. The al pastor had plenty of pineapple on top which was delicious. Visiting the Ronald Reagan Library and needed to find a bite to eat so I used this app and came across this eatery. Best choice I could've made. Great service from Natalia (I hope I have the right name). She gave us some suggestions and answered our questions on a couple of their dishes. Came with a party of 6 and everyone left completely satisfied. Three of us had their Burritos which could easily be split amongst two people it's so large. For a small establishment the interior is nice and inviting if not a little cold. There is plenty of help so the service was also very good. The prices were a bit steep for what you get but that's par for the course. In terms of the flavors they were ok. I wouldn't say they're the best but then again not the worst. While ambiance and service are on point I think the food lacks in value because it's very basic. I will say the drinks were pretty good so that makes up for the food. Flavors & service were 5 But my main complaint is the amount of meat in the burrito. It was mostly rice and other fillings I ordered the mar y Tierra which had steak and shrimp never did I come across a bite that had both it was always one or the other. I also ordered the fish taco and again flavor was delicious but such a skinny piece of fish. I just wasn't getting a protein bite anywhere. I'm a texture eater and I just kept feeling that missing protein texture in every bite. I mentioned to a friend I had gone and the first thing they said to me was that place gives no meat. So now I know it wasn't just mine. I'm going to give it another try because I liked it but if it's low on meat again It'll be my last visit. The 2 servers were friendly and accommodating, and dining mid week during lunch hour was nice. It did get busy but that just shows you how good the food is that people come out during there break to enjoy a fine meal. My daughter's tacos were very tasty and meaty, and the sides were all great. We were craving good Mexican food, and Tacos 805 in Simi is definitely the place! I've tried the carne asada torta, and it's amazing. The nachos are huge and delicious, and the aguachile is one of the best I've ever had. But the real star is the Molcajete Mar y Tierra -- absolutely delicious and big enough to share with 2 or even 3 people! The tortillas are fresh and so good, and the service is always fast and friendly. The only thing I would say is that the chairs are a bit uncomfortable, and honestly, they might need a bigger location soon because it's always packed! That's how you know the food is great. For entrees, we got a California burrito, 805 burrito, 2 quesabirra tacos, 1 Al pastor taco and 1 dorado taco. For dessert, we got their homemade churros. The burritos are huge! Ambiance - The restaurant is small, with a long bar and about 8 tables (varying size). Two large TVs for sports fans - and they definitely show NFL games. Inside is modern industrial and very clean. I loved how they decorated so tastefully for the holidays! Service - Nancy was super helpful in navigating the menu when we had questions. She was efficient and was happy to talk to us when we engaged her in conversation. She also recognized a member of my family who had visited before. Then he goes back and tells his employee Erika and they look at us and laugh. He should lead by example, all he's showing his workers it's that it's okay to be rude to the customers. He was upset bc the person I came with last time gave him a bad review. The owner said "I can't believe you have the audacity to come back after your friend left a bad review!" This is definitely a great taco spot I was missing out on. They have vegetarian options consisting of a nopal burrito, tacos with nopales that were finely chopped, and potato tacos. The wait was under 15 minutes when we arrived Saturday at 7:45pm and they even had the Dodger game playing which was a plus. They have several giant screen TVs. The staff was friendly, helpful with recommendations of food items that are the most popular. We ordered the chips and guacamole and which was plenty for a group of 5 adults and we still had some leftover. You can ask for some salsa and they bring out bottles with green and red salsa. I went to the tacos 805 grand opening and the atmosphere was so warm and welcoming. I was greeted immediately, and everyone was so kind and helpful with menu recommendations. My server Nathalia was super kinda and helpful!! I was very pleasantly surprised by the food. Mexican food is one of my favorites and I can't say I've had better tacos than the ones I had here. I had the taco dorado with braised beef and the mar y tierra and the balance of flavors and textures is so perfect. I also tried their new menu item, the pork belly taco and the meat was so flavorful and tender. The size of the tacos are really decent as well. I was extremely satisfied after having 3.
