Probably the worst burrito I've had. What the heck, this place looks hella authentic, felt like I was in TJ. Until you look at the price. $6 for a taco, and burritos starting at $12. We got burritos because supposedly they are known for it. My $12 regular burrito listed rice, beans, onions, cilantro, and choice of meat. I chose carne Asada. I swear, it was the saddest burrito ever. I live in SD, so our burritos down there are amazing, was hoping the same. The burrito was so sad, it was super small for it too. I took a pic of it next to my hands, which are small in general. They dice up the meat super tiny, so it gets dried out. There was no onions or cilantro in there. I asked for no beans. Burrito was on the thin side too, half was tortilla. I would say their tortilla was good and fresh! There was no flavor in the meat and no flavor in general, super plain. Meat was also chewy, got some weird parts. But a good thing was their salsas. It was really good! You can drench the burrito in their salsas to give it flavor. I would not come here again. Or recommend it. The guy grilling meats outside smelled so good too. So disappointed.

Food is fabulous, amazing flavor, fresh ingredients and very generous portions! Menu had a large variety of dishes to choose from and they all look good! Pricing was a bit high but well worth it!!

Used to go to Tacos Ameca pre pandemic, one of my favorite places. Honestly disappointed now. Reviews my receipt to realize that I was charged for EVERY SINGLE TOPPING on a super carne asada taco "with everything" without disclosure. Base price for a taco with meat is $5! Was charged for, grilled jalapeno and grilled onion, beans and guacamole & cheese. Ended up being close to $8 per taco which is crazy. I don't mind paying this price at all, I hate not being told about extra fees for something that's advertised as a super taco already. Robbery. Never again. Robo al cliente en cobrar extra por cosas que viene en un taco normal en casi todas taquerías, y sin aviso. Nunca jamás.

Today was my first trip here and it was awesome! I can't wait to come back and try all the other yummy menu items. Fresh tortillas made every day already make this place stand out but the salsa bar is exceptional! There was a guacamolito salsa, a chunky roasted tomato salsa (molcahete?), a red taco sauce, and a green taco sauce. All of them were great but my favorite was the molcahete salsa. I barely skimmed the menu and Choriquezo popped out at me as one of their specials. It's was a generous portion of chorizo flat top grilled with cheese, piled over and under 4 homemade flour tortillas. You basically make tacos out of the gooey concoction. It was a great way for me to try out all the salsas. I also got a Chile Verde taco and that did not disappoint. The Chile flavor was great and the pork was nice and tender. It was about when I took my first bite that I noticed the Al pastor on the vertical rotisserie in the kitchen, that's definately on my radar for my next visit. I'm rarely in Gilroy but I have a new reason to come back. This place rocks! Give'em a try!

A lot of beans on a simple taco

If you want to get a ton of beans on a simple taco go for it, food it's very disappointing

Ordered 2 tacos 2 go, I always thought they had cheese and topping on them but when I got home I received dry tacos with nothing but just meat , drove a long way to get them and it's disappointing, not to mention this are 6 dollar tacos !!!

I paid for a super burrito and got this. Terrible cooks and customer service. This is a complete embarrassment .

So we just came here as a family and spent about $75.00 with a tip and ordered 3 super burritos ! Which are made with cheese and sour cream ! We got 1 burrito with sour cream and cheese! They completed cheated us! And we asked the lady 3 times if the burritos were super and she lied to our face . Terrible experience and I'll never bring my family here again . Totally unprofessional . I am so pissed off I can't even finish this whack ass burrito. It's not what I asked for or what I paid for . This is such an embarrassment, it makes me sick honestly. I'm not surprised this business is unclaimed.

Service was good, but they were down a server so a bit slow. First red flag were the chips, which were stale, not crunchy or crispy. I could fold the chips in half. Also ordered a Diet Coke and a Modelo. Diet Coke was brought out in a can with no glass or ice, no glass for the beer either. At home, maybe, but would expect more at a restaurant. Ordered the chicken cheese quesadilla, Carne Asada super burrito, and a regular Carne Asada burrito. The chicken in the cheese quesadilla was a bit hard, reminiscent of leftover chicken that has been sitting for a while. Regular burrito was good, plenty of meat, beans and rice. Super burrito was mostly filled with rice and beans, not much meat. The waitress was very nice, however the food left much to be desired. Unfortunately, search for it go to Mexican restaurant in Gilroy continues.

Unfortunately, the pozole was mostly broth and bones, with very little meat and only about a spoonful of hominy. On the other hand, the Birria de Reyes and the nachos were great and definitely recommend. The service was okay. The staff were helpful when I asked for extra lemons and other items, but there wasn't much interaction beyond that. At one point, my son spilled his drink. While the staff noticed, they continued with their work, which is understandable, but it would have been nice if someone had offered assistance or at least pointed us to where we could find napkins. We ended up tracking them down ourselves and cleaning the table and floor. The ambiance is a little different. During the evening, one side of the restaurant is brightly lit while the other side is dark and you don't really know where to go. A girl who sat us ended up being our server but took a very long time for her to come back out to even take our drink orders. I had to ask the guy bringing water and tortilla chips who our server was. Once our server arrived she was very nice and answered our menu questions. I ordered the the spicy Mamacita and my friend ordered the pina colada. Both drinks looked cool but mine was very sweet, not really spicy at all and was tiny for $15. I think I mostly paid for the presentation part...flower, popsicle, etc. We both ordered the 3 taco trio and the food came out before long. I had a mahi mahi, carne asada and a taco macho. Again, the food wasn't that great: rice and beans had an off flavor, octopus was chewy in the taco macho, and the mahi was a bit fishy. We took half our food to go and checked out.
