The first thing we noticed, which was a bit unexpected, was the decor. The ambiance was really nice and inviting. This is the type of restaurant where someone could host a party. The service was really good too. We received water almost immediately after being seated, and our server came by shortly after. The manager stopped by throughout our visit to provide recommendations, and he was really nice. It made the experience feel more personal. For our appetizer, we ordered the Baba Ghannouj, which complemented the pita bread really well. It was our first time having it, and we did not know what to expect, but it was great. It was really flavorful, and we finished it wanting more. For our entrees, we had the Lamb Chops and the Seafood Tagine. The lamb chops were great. It was not a huge portion, but the meat was flavorful and cooked well. The presentation was also really nice. The Seafood Tagine looked great, and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. Everything about the dish worked well together, and we felt that all the flavors complemented one another. There was a good harmony between the ingredients. For dessert, we ordered the Kunafa, which was another first for us. We had never had it before, but the description really sold us on it. It was really good. This is the kind of dessert that is best shared since it is a little heavy. Toward the end of our visit, a belly dancer came out to perform, and it was really exciting. La Vie is a great restaurant, and we will definitely return. We felt as though we got a true Mediterranean experience during our visit.

We started with batata harra and cheese bulak. Both were great! The potatoes in the batata harra were very well seasoned and flavorful. The cheese bulak was good but might be a little off putting if your not use to mintiness in your cheese. A belly dancer came out and went around to all the tables and really engaged with everyone. For our entrees we got chicken tagine and lamb chops. I must say the lamb chops were phenomenal. Perfectly seasoned and grilled to perfection. I definitely recommend getting them medium. All in all if you're looking for something different definitely go check it out!

I'll admit it--I came in with a little skepticism. My attitude was simple: it's about celebrating my friend. I'm so glad I did because this visit completely changed my mind. The restaurant's new location (where Mellow Mushroom used to be) is beautiful, spacious, and has a relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for gathering with friends. Since we were sharing, we sampled a little of everything, and it was all delicious. Favorites included the falafel, Lebanese moussaka, crispy Brussels sprouts with Aleppo date glaze, baba ghanouj, classic hummus, Rocca beet salad, and the fresh, flavorful fattoush salad. Every dish was colorful, well-seasoned, and perfect for sharing around the table. The drinks kept flowing, and everyone was having a great time. To celebrate the birthday, we finished with an orange olive oil cake and a rich dark chocolate cake with sauce--both were wonderful endings to a fantastic meal. A special shout-out to our server, Ariana, who was warm, attentive, and genuinely kind to everyone at the table. She helped make the evening even more enjoyable. This visit completely changed my opinion of the restaurant. Great food, a beautiful new space, excellent service, and a fun atmosphere made for a memorable evening. What a beautiful transition! We needed that. Thank you for proving me wrong--I will definitely be back!

The pitas were amazing, they came to our table piping hot and billowing with hot steamy air. We also tried the tabouleh. For mains, the octopus on lentils was very good. The lamb chops were great with mint pesto and very puffy rice, tho they came out a bit over done (I ordered them medium and they were closer to medium well). The branzino was also good - a unique take on the dish with lentil sauce.

I had heard great things about La Vie Mediterranean from my friend, who has visited several times,…read moreso I finally decided to join a group of about 8 of us from different countries to try it for myself. I'm glad I did! The location is in the Home Depot shopping center, so it may not be the most prime location, but parking was easy and convenient, and it's close to the surrounding neighborhoods. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by a very friendly and respectful host. The restaurant was nicely done, and even though we arrived a little early before the dinner rush, the atmosphere was already great. We were seated right away, and both our server and the manager came over quickly to make sure everything was taken care of. We ordered a great variety of appetizers for the table baba ghanouj, hummus, falafel, kibbeh, labneh, and fresh bread. Everything looked beautiful, smelled amazing, and tasted even better. I ordered the lamb kabab with rice, and honestly, it was so good I didn't want to share it with anyone. The music was great, the atmosphere was comfortable, and the service was fantastic. I was especially impressed with how involved and attentive the manager and server were throughout the meal. If you love Mediterranean or Middle Eastern food, or you simply enjoy trying different kinds of food, I definitely recommend giving La Vie Mediterranean a try. In my opinion, this is easily one of my top three Middle Eastern restaurants on the East Coast. Great food, great people, great service, and a really enjoyable experience. One tip: come hungry and leave room for the meal and definitely try several different appetizers! The owner really nailed it with this place. Highly recommended!
