Hands down the best red chili burrito in Arizona and I have definitely tried most of them. They're so delicious i started going a long time at the original location downtown and then, went when they opened the other one in phoenix really nice restaurant and atmosphere. Specifically went for the Cinco de Mayo celebration... there was no celebration. The poster said that the Mariachi's are from 5pm-7pm. Margaritas for $6. and Taco Plate for $10. We were there at 5:30 and no Mariachi... went to order and saw that the $10 Taco plate was just their normal Taco Tuesday deal. And NO margaritas!? Located in a tiny strip mall near a churches chicken you can't really see this place from the street. We ordered a total of five tacos, three chicken and two shredded beef. We also got a side of rice and beans. The tacos have the shredded chicken with peppers and onions and the tacos were all hardshell. We enjoyed the tacos and agree that it tasted authentic. Shredded beef was a bit greasy but it was still good tasting. We also had an order of chips and salsa. The salsa was a bit watery but the taste was still there and it had some kick. The chips were the real home made chips. It would have been nice if it was a part of the meal seeing as how this place was a tad expensive in our opinion. What an absolute joke of a business. Place a pick up order to drive 10 miles to pick it up to then wait to be addressed while in the restaurant only to get a phone call from the lady standing right in front of me to say they were out of refried beans. This is my second review. First review since new ownership and that's only because I hadn't been there in a long time. Since then Ive been many times. Food is just as good and I like the addition of the: chunky salsa, the chunky guac., extended hours, and the edition of taco Tuesday (two tacos, rice, and beans at a better price.:) this is definitely my go to place for tacos. Love them! My new favorite is the ground beef and potato tacos. There's only a tiny bit of potato in it, but they are amazing. I love them!! Their green chili is great too!! (They used to have taco salads a long, long time ago when Richie owned the place). I still live their beans and rice!! Customer service is hit and miss. Took the family to Rito's for the first time tonight and I am torn on this review. Food-5 stars: A little on the costly side, but every item was a winner. We had a burrito, a chimichanga, tacos and enchiladas, all were excellent (as were the chips and salsa). Atmosphere-1 star: Back of house stuff stored in the dining room (a pet peeve of mine), no music, nothing special. Menus on laminated sheets. Service-1 star: The cashier acted like she didn't want to be there and she didn't want us to be there either. So, I guess that balances to a 3 star review. Went to Rito's yesterday because I was craving enchiladas and Rito's happens to have some great enchilada sauce. I've always loved their food, and have frequented there in years past, but fell off in recent years. Well... as good as the food is (and it really is) and as good as the customer service is (Jacob was a great host/server), I seriously cannot justify the price of this. Ok, so finally got around to trying them out. I had the tacos many years ago from their original locations. We had beef tacos, rice and beans. My wife, son and I all had the same thing. I am so glad that I finally have decent Mexican food within a block of my house. I have ordered 11 different items over the last 3 months and have no complaints on the quality of the food. Been to Rito's twice over the past couple weeks for take out and I have to say it's been delicious both times. Food is hot, exactly how you order it and the sauces and meats are tasty and tender. Online ordering has issues, so we had to call both times to place our order because you cannot complete the online order. I mentioned that to them the second time and they were aware. The food here is amazing! Full of flavor served hot and timely. Our group had the shredded beef taco, green chili burrito, guacamole and bean tostada, green chili tostada, chicken tacos, and chicken chimichanga. Everything was excellent; no complaints with the food. The restaurant is clean and accommodated our group of eight. Those would be a five-star review had it not been for the customer service. Customer service is a different story. Unfortunately, the cashier (Kaylee) was extremely rude. Each one of us in our party that ordered had the same experience. She was short, impolite, gave very cold looks when serving us, tossed the food on the table when served, when she brought our chips and salsa and we extended our thank you; her demeanor was very callous and she merely turned and walked away. She made an error on my daughter's order and when my daughter went up to address the error Kaylee (cashier) just told her someone else would have to work on the refund and walked away. The food order was corrected but when she brought the food, again, no apologies for the error & just slid the food on the table. I approached the cashier (Kaylee) prior to leaving to obtain the refund for the price difference on the item mix up since she neglected to follow through on this when my daughter addressed, she brought another employee to the register to correct. I obtained her name prior to her exit so that I could ensure I had the information for reporting and review. I asked if she was related or affiliated with the Rito's family; she stated she just works for them. The refund was handled very well and the secondary employee (Angelica) was very polite and professional. I expressed to her our disappointment in the service received by the cashier and her poor customer service, so much so that I'll be contacting the main location to advise them of their employee at this location. Angelica apologize for the experience. As a small business owner ourselves, I feel that good customer service is an imperative factor for a successful business. I wrote this review in hopes that the business takes this as a learning opportunity to improve customer service as they feel is suitable either via training or reassessing this employee's performance. Rito's Mexican has the potential to be my go-to spot during my annual baseball Spring Training pilgrimage to Surprise, AZ. They are literally a couple blocks from Surprise Stadium which is shared by the Royals and Rangers, the food is reasonably priced, the environment is very casual so you'll feel comfortable wearing team jerseys and other sports fan apparel, and they offer something that is difficult to find in the rest of the country - authentic green chili sauce. Their food is positioned squarely in the "pretty good" / "not too bad" range, servings are larger than one person can eat (or more accurately, the servings are more than one person SHOULD eat) and they serve you quickly enough that you can grab a bite between the end of the practice field warm up sessions and the beginning of the actual Spring Training games. I heard rumors from some vacationing baseball fans and a couple locals that the food consistency and the friendliness of the staff had gone downhill over the past several months. Coincidentally, the day of my visit on March 20, 2017 happened to be the first day the restaurant was taken over by not just a new manager, but an entirely new crew. They all did a pretty good job considering I could hear them asking each other in the kitchen if they had found certain items yet. The staff assured me they did not intend to change any of the menu items or the recipes. I'm confident that after the new team gets their feet on the ground, this cute little casual spot will live up to its potential.
