The food is delicious! This is my first time in so I had no idea what to order. Hubby is always the one picking up takeout. The seating is clean and sufficient. Restrooms are for customers only based on a posted sign which I can appreciate. I didn't visit. The 15-minute parking spaces out front were open so I parked and went on in. The associate was patient and helpful. It's Taco Tuesday so why not. I was out and thought to support. I got 2 orders of street tacos- 2 pastor, 2 carne asada and 4 chicken, of course. I'd order them again. Feeling enough that I packed half the burrito for a snack later. They actually have a pretty large menu. Various tacos, burritos, fries, nachos , breakfast burritos, bowls, and quesadillas. They have plenty of pictures of their food over the restaurant. First visit to Oscar Taco's on a busy Taco Tuesday. The restaurant is modern and very clean, and the staff did a great job staying attentive despite the crowd. I tried the fish and carnitas specials. The tacos are impressive--large, double-lined soft shells that are generously filled. The fish was fresh and crispy, and the carnitas was delicious. You might pay a little more here than at other local spots, but the size and quality of the tacos make it a better value. The only reason I'm not giving five stars is the lack of a salsa bar. For dine-in, they provide house-made red and green salsas in squeeze bottles. They both had a nice, moderate heat, but I really missed having a selection of fresh onions, radishes, and cucumbers to garnish the tacos. We ordered Uber Eats from this Taco shop a couple days ago and I was very satisfied. It came fast and everything was packaged well in styrofoam packaging. They included tons of mild sauce and hot sauce. We ordered a Birria taco, Elote corn in a cup, Rolled Tacos, and Surf and Turf fries. The Birria Taco was a little cold but we used a delivery service so expected. Flavor was good and it came with the typical Birria sauce. The Elote in a cup was okay, didn't have too much flavor. And they used a sweet white corn not roasted corn. The rolled tacos were as expected and tasty! You get 5 tacos! The sure and turf fries were my favorite out of all the items. Although I will say there is only 5 pieces of medium shrimp. I'd probably go with just carne fries next time! Lots of toppings and they use small, skinny fries. The meats were lean and seasoned perfectly, the chips were crispy and thin, and the salsa had just the right amount of kick. I think my favorite was their ground beef crunchy tacos. We were greeted & the cashier told us to take our time to look over the menu. Service was nice & small area of seating available. We ordered the steak loaded fries & the steak breakfast burrito. The prices were $24 for both items w/ no drinks included (for that price a drink should be included for any meal over $11). My carne asada were overcooked & the fries were not homemade I believe because they taste like frozen fries. I finally tried this taco shop today. I was very impressed by the cleanliness when I walked in. The soda fountain area was absolutely spotless as well as the floors and tables. The guy who took my order was very nice and happy to take my order. I got the meal deal that comes with 2 rolled tacos, one shredded beef taco and a bean tostada. The rolled tacos were cooked perfectly and had absolutely zero taste of oil. The taco had to weigh at least a pound! This thing was loaded with meat and all the good toppings. The tostada was so good as well, I'm usually not a tostada person but those beans were so flavorful. The food held together perfectly, not falling apart and making a mess. The meal deal I think was $11.99 and came with a drink. I got the horchata and I'm very picky about horchata, theirs is soooo good! Needless to say, I'll be going back regularly. Our normal Taco Tuesday shop was packed to the gills so we decided to venture out and try a spot we had seen pretty regularly. Upon arrival there were about 6-7 people waiting in the restaurant area for their take out. Clearly no sir down options right now so to be expected. We ordered and took our place in the corner. 2 beef tacos, 5 rolled tacos, a bean/rice/cheese burrito, and a California Burrito (look I was planning left overs for lunch tomorrow ). After a few minutes a lady waiting told us "Hope they didn't say 15 minutes because you can't believe them". We knew it was Taco Tuesday and people were ordering online and call ins. Waiting is waiting no big deal. A few more minutes went on, then a few more, and a few more... 40 minutes later our food was ready. The pros were the bean/rice/cheese burrito and the rolled tacos! Beans were rich cheese was gooey and rice was flavorful. Rolled tacks had good guacamole on rope with cheese lettuce and tomato as well. Crispy but still moist inside. The beef tacos were greasy. Solid taco just too greasy for me (great food after a few cocktails though note to self). The CA burrito was decent. The sour cream was a little off for my liking but nothing I wouldn't eat again. Will definitely try this place out again on a different day. I believe it is 40% off tacos on Tuesday. Senior specials on Wednesday and a kids eat free on Mondays. Solid! Was stoked to see this place opening. Prior to living in AZ, I lived in San Diego for 10 years and SD is "King of the Taco Shops". I had read Oscar's profile and saw that the brothers opened up Cotijas back in the 80s. Cotijas is a legit taco shop in SD, so I was excited to try this place out! I picked up some dinner for the family. We got 5 shredded beef tacos, a California burrito, and some chips and salsa. Here is how they were.......... California Burrito- Pretty tasty. I really liked how they cook the carne asada on the flat top once you order it. It's not sitting in a warming tray or anything like that. You could hear the sizzle from the grill. Score! Carne asada was really tasty, the tortilla was fine, the guacamole was nice and creamy, but the fries were limp. Meh. That's the only bad part. Maybe I will order them extra crispy next time. Still, a decent CA burrito, especially for AZ. Shredded Beef Tacos- Really tasty! Not too greasy, good crunch on the shells and pretty fat for $2.50 each! Chips and Salsa- Decent. Chips were fried properly, maybe a tad under fried. Tasted fine though...not oily. Salsa was dark red not too spicy. Service was friendly and fast. The place is a bit small, so I could see it getting cramped, but if you take it to go or call in your order, you should be fine. I'm super excited that this place is here! We've eaten here many times and found our tacos to be great. Tonight, we ordered two tacos with ground beef and two with chicken. I've loved their chicken in their tacos because of its grilled fajita-like flavor. What it seems I got was a shredded type chicken that was boiled in spiced water. The ground beef tacos were made of filled one filled corn tortilla each. Both fell apart when picking them up. This is sad. Told my daughter I liked the tamales with mole here, but owner (?) is super rude so have only gone once in a while since they opened. Decided to bite the bullet and try again since daughter wanted a quesadilla . Ordered our food and was surprised Manager didn't acknowledge us with a Hi or even say thank you. The food arrived promptly. HOWEVER, he plopped down one order and walked away without a word. I stopped him and said we ordered Quesadillas. He looked , said "that's it" and abruptly turns and walks away. The place was mostly empty and no one in line but us so no reason for his odd and rude behavior.
