Tacos El Hermano is a small Mexican restaurant on the corner of Anderson and First St and across the Metro Gold line and Mendez High School. We took our Carvan to get the car window fixed,we were very hungry, then I checked on my Yelp what restaurant nearby found out Tacos El Hermano just close by then we went there. It's a small restaurant and we're greeted by staff members of the restaurant when they are opening restaurant in the morning. We're looking at the menu they breakfast,lunch,dinner all day. This restaurant is a cash only restaurant, I think, a better idea because the food is made fresh and also using good quality ingredients make the food good. We are looking at the menu and decided what to order my wife order the sope plate and I got the breakfast burrito. The restaurant has a great view of the gold line and high school and also construction on First St. They call our number to pick up our meal. Our meal looks so good, especially my wife sope plate looks delicious. My breakfast is big, and then I took a bite of the burrito great flavors of the burrito. The meat I chose was ham it add flavor and salt of the ham it also potato in the burrito also the add of green and red chili sauce they told the green is not spicy but the red one is spicy. My wife enjoys her sope it so much flavor in the sope but the rice and beans were so good that my wife say she enjoy it. Overall, we enjoy the food very much. read more

Place was recommended to me by my coworker. Honestly it seems great cause of the customer service and the people are nice but I just had two carne asada tacos with green sauce and it was very bland. I say somewhat because you could drive by this place without every noticing it, but the Metro E line's Pico/Aliso station is right in front, so it's very easy to get here. Prefer to drive? There is plenty of parking in the private lot! If you're in Boyle Heights, and want some fantastic tacos, you GOTTA try this place. All the meats are cooked to perfection, and the tortillas can barely hold all that goodness. Always generous with the guacamole and salsa, Claudio and his wife are making perfect tacos and will make sure you are completely satisfied. This place is the definition of the hole in the wall taco shop at which you want to eat. Seating is all outdoors and is covered to keep you out of the weather. Service was quick, and my order came exactly as expected. The tacos are small and appropriately priced; well worth it. My favorite is the Chorizo and cheese taco. If you prefer vegetarian options, they have a grilled mushroom taco. All the tacos I had were topped with lettuce, pico de gallo, and guacamole. The order came with a side of chips. The asada fries are soo good a must try, I heard their birria tacos are good as well when they have them from friends can't wait to try them myself. Also the shes burger and fries is really good to if your looking for burger and fries but don't want that nasty Mcd burger and want something a little better. The portion was decent and it was good enough for my lunch and dinner that day. They gave me extra tostada when I asked. Drink: the watermelon aguas fresca was really good and refreshing! Service: They are generally fast. They had no problem with giving me extra tostada. ** Bring Cash, they charge $1 if you use credit/debit cards. Ambience: Well... it has a food truck vibe. I think it's worth mentioning that I've been going here at least once a week for months now and the food is consistently *good*. I would eat there more often but sometimes they are closed. :( If it's later than 3:30pm I know I gotta get over there immediately. Sometimes they're still open, sometimes not. I had driven by many times and always meant to stop. Well, today I stopped to pick up some tacos for lunch. This review is only for their carne asada tacos. I ordered several carne asada tacos for lunch and they were delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful. The tacos are a good size and three filled me up. The salsas were also good, I had the red and the green. I liked the red better, but I generally prefer red salsas. The service was also quick. I stopped shortly before noon and by the time I left more patrons were showing up. The location has some delightful murals painted around it. They have ample seating for waiting or eating there. Tacos Por Favor is a nice place to have close by if you work in one of the warehouses in the industrial area. Due to such scant options around here, TPF could get by serving much crappier food than they do, but so far, everything I've ordered, they have knocked out of the park. The al pastor isn't cooked on a trompa, but it's got great flavor; a little spicy, well seasoned. The beans have a nice flavor, they don't just taste like old grease. The chicken is grilled, and they stuff the burritos full of it. I was impressed by their hard-shelled potato tacos: they're large, and full of big pieces of seasoned potatoes, guacamole, onions, cilantro, and crema. The only thing I've ordered from here about which I've felt lukewarm was the cemita Poblana - which I'll fault myself for, because the best cemitas usually come from a truck or restaurant that specifically advertises such a delicacy, outright. The people who work here are nice, they've never fucked up an order of ours, they take credit cards, and they deliver. 4 stars because I order lunch here at least twice a week. Working where I work, I never want to leave my parking spot, so thank goodness this place delivers!! Not only is it convenient, it's good! It's not greasy, it's fulfilling, and has a pretty big menu to choose from. It caters to the health conscious diners and vegetarian friendly. The mahi mahi and the shrimp is good. Chicken and beef are consistantly good, not dry. The carnitas could be a little more crispier ( that's just the way I like it). The enchiladas and quesadillas are cheesy and they don't give me that unsettling feeling. Depending on how much you eat, it will knock you out on your desk. Salsas they give you are good. I'm always stoked when I find a hole in the wall spot that is delish and this one is! I ordered chicken and cheese enchiladas which were extremely tasty. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because the rice and beans on both combos were a bit stingy in the portions. Other than that I have no complaints. The food was prepared quickly (but there wasn't anyone in line ahead of me) and I enjoyed walking around the neighborhood while I was waiting (seriously there is some dope street art near). You have to pay $2 for a large (which isn't super large) side of guacamole and sour cream, the parking lot is pretty big (which also has cool street art) and there is a covered patio if you decide to dine in. read more

Co-workers and I order from this place often. Great food, decent prices and speedy delivery with no order errors (knock on wood) lol. The bacon breakfast burrito and the regular carne asada burrito are a must. Oh yeah, "Tacos Por Favor," is exactly what I said went I ate here for my first time. It is a very small whole in the wall but it does have lots of outdoor covered picnic tables to sit at. The building is painted in green and has trees around it so it is very easy to miss. I looked at the massive menu and was so confused of what I went there to eat. I think I was going for a torta but I ended up with a sampler platter created by me. I got a hard shell taco made with carne asada which was delicious. I did get a torta with al postor that was really good and a sope where they actually put the crema under all the toppings so you get to enjoy it throughout the whole sope. They do have fountain drinks and cans of soda and I didn't really enjoy their horchata because it too much cinnamon for my taste. I really hope they brighten up the paint on the front of the entrance because I drove past it twice because it blends in with the warehouses that are next door.
