Had extremely expectations but they fell short. The resturaunt itself is extremely clean and spacious, lots of parking and the staff were amazing. Carne asada super burrito: 2/5. It was sadly dry, lacking any flavors and the meat was extremely dry. Chorizo breakfast burrito: 1/5. Honestly all I tasted were eggs, the chorizo had no oil and zero flavors. I love the blend of the carne asada with their refried beans, avocado, sour cream, and rice. I also really enjoy their regular tacos. They are absolutely delicious. The pineapple agua fresca is also so refreshing and is needed everytime I come here. My favorite thing about this place are their sauces. They have a sauce bar where you can try as many as you'd like as well as unlimited radishes. The habanero sauce is super spicy but it's still one of my favorites. My favorite sauce has to be their ranchera sauce which is the chunky red one. I have never had salsa like this anywhere and it makes my burrito 1000x better. The service is also so fast and the workers here have always been super friendly. Each time I come here (which has probably been over 200 times) has been amazing. Instead, I got an overly stuffed burrito on STALE rice and hardly any meat packed into my burrito... the green sauce helped with the dryness from the rice, but was hardly any. I took multiple bites hoping that the meat was hidden somewhere down the burrito, but I found nothing but more stale rice. The grains were either cooked with not enough water or from earlier this morning because it gave a crunchy bite... This place used to be my favorite place for Al Pastor burritos. It wasn't very busy during my visit and they had a steady flow of people coming in. They have a self-serve salsa bar with four salsas to choose from. The nacho chips-to-toppings ratio was off--as in they were extremely stingy with the chips. They use real cheese, avocado, salsa, pickled jalapeños, light drizzle of sour cream, and includes a few stale chips. They charge extra for adding meat. And they don't use a heat lamp for the chips so they were cold. Note: I watched them grab chips from two containers. The first with fresh chips and the second with stale chips. Perhaps if they gave you a generous serving of chips, they wouldn't have stale chips--and you wouldn't have toppings leftover or stale chips. The Regular Burritos were sturdy but not as filling as it used to be. They don't toast your burrito unless you ask for it. Their Carne Asada and Al Pastor was mildly flavored. It's better to visit when it's busier--more likely that they grill the Asada outside and rotisserie for the Pastor. Overall, stick to the tacos here (handmade tortillas)-- I wouldn't recommend nachos or burritos here. Their prices, consistency, and quality used to be better (pre-pandemic). read more

WOWW! I'm a regular here, but this is the first time i've ever seen them have a sauce bar???? Unlimited green sauce, orange sauce, etc you just have to pour it in yourself. They used to charge for extra sauces but now you can scoop it yourself inside and refill it next to the entrance door. I've also NEVER had the carne asada fries here and they're extremely distinct from other steak fries i've had in san jose. Their fries are super crispy and they tasted amazing! I would love to have these fries on their own but all the toppings made it even better. If you've never had the fries here, you should try it! We had several questions about the menu so we called to double check. Although we called with questions and made sure we put down what they told us, our order was still wrong. My partner ordered 6 tacos but instead received 1 taco with extra meat. Then, I ordered a burrito with chicken and it has no chicken in it.. We also ordered nachos which were tasty and mirrored what we ordered. Not sure if we were just super early or if folks were at home prepping for the superbowl, but we ordered tacos to go. I noticed that the menu says tacos are $2.38, but we were charged way more than that... I'm not really sure why, but I didn't realize until after we ordered (3 asada tacos, 1 tripa). Because we were there early, the meat looked SUPER fresh, definitely freshly made. THEIR ORANGE SAUCE IS SOO SPICY, but so good. you definitely need it with your tacos! The tripa was not that great. If you're looking for tripa, you need to go to Monteros. Asada was SOOOO good. I was honestly surprised it was so good. I was a bit sad I only got two tacos haha. I came back on a weekday evening and got overcharged again... didn't really feel comfortable asking why, considering the menu prices have not been updated but I'm hoping the owner responds to my review and lets me know. It looks like the meat is all prepared in the morning and if you get there early, the meat is incredibly fresh and delicious, but it just sits under the meat lamp otherwise, making it very chewy and dry (based on their reviews, I'm not the only person experiencing this).
