Sometimes you see one off in the distance and if you live in or around LA you see them almost every block. Thankfully this trend has extended beyond LA county and now you see them in abundance in every county. I am of course talking about the magnificently unique LA born taco truck. Tonight the one that feeds me sits on a quiet street in Orange County. I almost don't want to write this review in fear that Tacos Maggi will become even busier than it already is on this Saturday night. But life is about sharing and caring, so as I stand hear at this ungodly hour, surrounded by drunks, partiers and a barrage of Spanish being spoken, I share with you this gem of a taco truck. Tacos Maggi doesn't just serve you cheap and delicious Mexican food, they serve you love and relief when it is late and you have no one to turn to for that magical elixir that will take away the beginnings of a hangover. And that is what I will go to sleep with. Love in my tummy because what says love more than a home cooked meal? Even if I'm standing on a street corner and not my home. Somehow at the loneliest hours, approximately minutes after you leave that bar or club, I have found something warm and inviting. Perhaps on one of these cold hearted LA/OC nights after the fun has run out you too will find this comfort. Except on Mondays because they're closed. P.S: Taco truck pro tip #1: You can call in your order and save yourself a 30 minute wait. Unless drunk people watching is something that interests you. Stay searching for love my friends, even if you find it in a taco, torta or burrito at the end of a hedonistic evening...

The service is just okay--they can be a bit stingy with the salsa, and mind you, the portions are already small to begin with. But I can't deny how much I love their crispy tripa, chicken, asada, and pastor tacos. The taco prices have gone up recently, now ranging from $2.50 to $3.00 depending on the meat you choose (as of 9/19/25). Just a heads up, that's for one small taco--about the size of a small hand probably even smaller honestly. (I guess it depends on your hand size lol) Also, some prices aren't listed on the truck, so they could definitely update that. Despite all that, the food is still so good--especially the meats and salsa! I would've given a 5-star rating if the service were better and they weren't so stingy with the sauce. I asked the girl for one red salsa, and she actually rolled her eyes at me I was baffled. Ambiance is no seating you gotta to-go, eat in the car or take it home!

I seriously don't understand how this taco truck is still running. I ordered two tacos literally just two and ended up waiting an entire hour for them. An hour! For tacos! And it wasn't just me they kept messing up other people's orders too, so the whole line was annoyed and confused. By the time I finally got my food, I was more irritated than hungry. Ohh and let me tell you when I did get my tacos they were very cold. Super slow service & completely disorganized, and honestly not worth the frustration. I won't be coming back.

Nasty ass 1 cm rock inside my crispy tripas taco

There was a 1 cm rock in my crispy tripas taco & they're not taking accountability for it. Disgusting, unsafe, unsanitary! The employee said they'll zelle me a full refund, but now ghosted me & I have yet to receive a response or a refund. Very disappointing.

Address on Yelp is up to date! They do take card but there is a fee, I recommend bringing cash! There's plenty of parking. You can call or text and place your order over the phone for pick up (Took a photo of their number) Each taco is $2 and specialty tacos like Tripa or Lengua is $2.50. But the star of the show is the Tripa, make sure to ask for "Crispy" Tripa not regular. So crispy, crunchy, and delicious! Another thing that makes this place good is their sauces! The red salsa has a super spicy kick but good, my favorite is their guac sauce (I think it's guac, it's a lighter green color), has a little kick but so much flavor.

Aside from K*#g Taco, this is hands down the best taco place in OC. Love their red onion/pineapple/ghost pepper slaw

Some of the best al pastor I've had. Tripas extra crispy was amazing too. Will be back to try the rest.

Literally what more could you possibly ask for lol. There's a bit of a language barrier when ordering and they only accept CASH so keep things simple and try coming on Taco Tuesday where you can get any of their regular tacos for $2.25. Sadly they were out of brisket when I last visited but the cabeza taco more than made up for it. It's probably one of my favorites next to the al pastor + pineapple. Prices are super reasonable, food comes out fast, and the place is kept pretty clean for the amount of foot traffic it gets. Overall this place lives up to the hype, seriously some of the best in OC next to Los Cholos without having to drive to LA or SD.

Ordered two keto tacos, one with pastor and the other with asada. My sister ordered the potato with asada. Both were magnificent. The potato also comes with four corn tortillas, so that was an extra bonus. Saw they about four or five different kinds of agua fresca. Didn't try any, but they looked pretty refreshing. Pretty decent salsa bar with assorted cold and hot toppings. I saw they also have weekday specials before 2 PM. The only regret I have is coming on a weekend night, so I wasn't able to take advantage of their deals.

I ordered the Lemon Pepper and Peruvian Green wings, and both were excellent. One thing people…read moredon't always appreciate is how hard it is to keep wings crispy while still coating them in sauce. This spot nailed that balance. The batter was thin, light, and crispy, while the chicken stayed juicy and tender. The Lemon Pepper wings tasted like real lemon pepper should. Instead of relying on a heavy premade seasoning, they incorporated fresh lemon zest, which gave the wings a bright, fresh and authentic flavor. I'm usually not a lemon pepper person, but these definitely won me over. The Peruvian Green wings were my favorite. The sauce was herbaceous, tangy, creamy, and packed with flavor. Honestly, put that sauce over a bowl of rice and I'd happily finish every bite. The experience was just as enjoyable as the food. Pete shared samples of his cornbread and brought a fun, confident energy that made the visit memorable. You can tell he takes pride in what he serves, and that passion comes through in the food. I'm giving 4 stars because while I genuinely enjoyed everything, I have a feeling the best is still yet to come. If this is the standard they're setting now, I'm excited to see what future menu additions and wing flavors look like. I'll definitely be back!
