We tried this place recently and fell in love! I knew they were relatively new to this location but who knew they've bern there almost 2 full years! Wow, time flies! We were greeted warmly when we walked in! We sat at the bar and quickly engaged in conversation with the bartender and Diego, the owner! Diego was very interactive and offered to taste treat his soup, which was delicious! My wife ordered a spicy margarita which Diego took pride in making and I ordered a Corona! The chips were excellent but the Salsa bar was exceptional, with 6-8 fresh and unique salsas. Each was better than the next! Delish! I ordered the Michoacán Burrito with Carnitas! Our new favorite Mexican place in Pawleys by far. Has a nice salsa bar and some tasty options. I went with the Michoacan Especial which was basically a carne asada. Very tasty. Wife had the birria tacos and let me have a bite and they were also very good. Waiter did a good job. read more

After reading all the positive reviews we were anxious to try this place. We ordered the street tacos and paid extra for lettuce, tomato, and cheese. There was no tomato, very little cheese and lettuce. The so called salsa bar was a joke with only small cups not suitable for dipping the stale chips. The service was slow as our server spent more time dealing with takeout. There was no ambiance to speak of. Overall a very disappointing experience. This restaurant was recommended to us , We were very disappointed they have a salsa bar with condiment cup's so small you can't dip your chips in them asked for a small bowl and was told they don't have any even though if you order cheese dip it came in a bowl. The food was just ok the quesadilla was average . The ACP was terrible very salty could not even eat it . The a/c was in op when we were there . Price wise was on the high end for a Mexican restaurant. We are locals and will not return. read more

we tried this place due to the high ratings -- we are from out of town, so perhaps the locals like it? our visit started bad because the cheese dip was cold ... after 20-25 minutes, & our 2nd basket of stale chips, we got our food i ordered the Michoacan Especial ($18!) i'm not an expert on cuts of beef, but this wasn't meant for consumption -- maybe better for making a beef broth? the butter knife provided would barely cut the sinewy "steak" (bring a carving knife if you must order this) my bf got the fajita quesadilla -- he likes the green pepper & onion cooked well--the green pepper was basically raw (?) -- if the cook spent as much time cooking as he did on the phone, perhaps the veggies would have been cooked more... lastly, our favorite Mexican place back home provides 3X the amount of rice & beans -- my bf was still hungry when we got back to the hotel; luckily, we still had pizza from La Famiglia the night before we won't be back, but a refund of half of the price of our dinner would be nice read more

Stopped by to try out this restaurant after a busy afternoon and had a delicious dinner with great service. Fun, casual atmosphere including a bar and TV, but I opted for a booth. Not packed, but busy for an October Monday night so glad to get seated and served immediately. Pleased to find they had a wide assortment of beer (an earlier review indicated they were waiting on their license). Nothing on tap or particularly strong in the IPA category yet, but maybe that will change soon. Loved the chips, crunchy with good flavor and a salsa station offering a variety of mixes along with limes, etc. For my entre, I went for 2 shrimp tacos and a fish taco. All 3 were delicious with maybe a nod to the shrimp. Upon request they went light on cilantro, to the point where I couldn't taste a hint in the pico de guayo. Went here based on reviews, to start the chips were warm but stale. The self serve salsa bar was underwhelming. Went with the 3 street tacos - not bad nice flavor and was great they were simple with the right amount of toppings. Wife had the Chili Reno didn't have much flavor and the sides were "okay". We had a margarita - didn't know we ordered the Non-alcohol version - didn't seem to have any tequila in it at all.
