I came in today for the first time, after my sister insisted we come here. We are definitely Foodies and she kept seeing this location all over her Instagram page. So we decided to try it out. Walked in and were greeted warmly by the nicest cashier. Hate that I wasn't able to get her name but she was amazing! Telling us about the food and sharing her recommendations. As I was telling the young lady we are first time visitors, a young gentleman who works there, not sure if it was one of the owners or not, was doing a video for social media of the food and literally offered me an order of nachos that they had been filming. So stoked about that LOL not to mention the nachos were freaking fire! So good and tasty. I think they're best known for their Chile verde, if you're a sissy like me LOL, it might be a little spicy. But the flavor is definitely there. Wasn't a big fan of their crispy tacos as they were a little bit soggy. But overall this was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back.

Especially since I saw that they serve breakfast burritos all day! Our food came out quickly and the staff was super helpful and friendly! Can't wait to come back!

Excellent service & excellent food. Tried the taco plate today cause get three tacos, beans & rice. The beans are really good. They are not only the perfect smoothness but very tasty. Rice is nice - dry not wet. Now the meats! Three tacos - chicharon (red or green sauce), carnitas, and and buches. All three were very tasty. Buches was new to me but reminded me of pork roast on a minor level. Tasted more like pork than the carnitas. The chicharon was not the chunk of meat version. It's the skin itself so it's soft. Btw, the green sauce is awe--some! My friend had the fish taco (prepared Ensenada style), the carne asada and adobo. She liked all of hers and she went back to get tacos to take home to family. Her brother also loved the fish taco! Pretty much everything is good here. My friend said the steak picado is also excellent!

They have some breakfast burritos but you need to get them day before for next day breakfast (they DO hold up well!). I will post pix of menus, hours, etc.

We love the carne asada tacos, served wet with red salsa, messy but so tasty. And for something crispier we get the potato taquitos, which are still loaded with toppings.

Two asada tacos that looked like they were thrown together in a hurry, just meat and red sauce, no cilantro or onions. Apparently asking for lime is a problem here. The counter guy had a bad attitude, and the place was a mess. If...

Omanas holds its own and I have been a long time customer from days in south El Monte location. The chile verde burrito is my go-to! I say I'm going to get something new but can't help but order that. Plenty of tables and a shared parking lot. Plenty of options for the whole family.

Try this little hole in the wall place hidden in the back of the 7-11 strip mall. The cook rolls the tacos with one hand pretty cool. Non stop people for a sunday night. Inside has a handful of tables to sit both takeout orders and sit in's. Not a long wait for orders. Chile Verde burrito very tasty the pork was shredded I am used to chunks it had a little kick to it the beans were very good I would like to go have a bean and cheese burrito. We also tried the steak picado taco recommended as one of the favorites the tortilla was dipped in something but it was good tender pieces of meat bathed in the goodness of onions tomatoes, that makes a sauce. We also had chicken taquitos comes with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, avocado sauce, laying on green chili. I made the mistake and had the cream on the side, but that makes the whole taquito is super good. The cream is very tasty. Wasn't a fan of the chicken that seem like it was overcooked for the taquito. They have taco Tuesday every taco for only two dollars. If you want to try the different tacos that they have.

Great small spot for delicious Mexican food. My son and I shared the carnitas plate or rather, my son ate the carnitas plate and I took a few bites. He loved it. The best he has had which is a big endorsement. I barely took a picture before he had his second scoop. Omana's is located in a small strip mall with a 7/11 and laundry mat.

Located in a shopping plaza just west of Barranca, next to a laundromat, Tacos Omanas has been around over 40 years. Our usual taco place was closed for Labor Day, so I found this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. Prices are reasonable, restaurant is clean, food is good. We got the California Burrito w/ asada, an asada meat burrito, a carnitas taco and pollo taco. My family still prefers our other taco place, but Tacos Omanas still hits the spot for our taco and burrito cravings.

I was in the area and decided to stop by since a good friend recommended this place a few months back. I was pleasantly surprised at the authenticity of the chile verde burrito. Just the right spice and as tender as it could be. The flour tortilla made me feel that I was in Sonora. Will be back for the rest of the menu.

Wow, bad experience here. First timer and stopped in for a burrito. Young lady at the register greeted me, which started off good. Asked what the burritos have in them (meat rice, beans, cilantro, onions, etc)...she said beans and meat only. Surprised, I said ok. Ordered the steak picado burrito and man was I disappointed in this Mexican Restaurant. I don't know if I ordered the wrong thing but the burrito literally had just beans in it. No veggies, maybe a couple pieces of meat, it was falling apart because of the massive amount of beans. I couldn't believe the cook actually made it the way it came out. Reading the reviews, looking at the picture, I don't want to believe it but this place is a one star for a comfortable feel while you eat. Tops for the Worst burrito I've had ever. I'm in the area often and would love to stop by again, it'll be tough. For now, I would not return and don't recommend.

Order a burrito was expecting a burrito with rice bean onion cilantro and salsa with meat of choice but only got a half ass burrito no rice no onion no cilantro and it taste like tapatío hot sauce what a big disappointment. Never going there and telling my coworkers not to come to this place. read more

Nice and cozy restaurant. My fiancé and I looked on yelp reviews for a good recommendation on what to order because it's our first time. After doing some research I ordered the tacos Perron and 2 tacos de steak Picado. She ordered the steak picado plate and taco de chicharonn. The food smelled so delicious and they brought it out pretty quickly. The taste? AMAZING. Some of the best tacos I've had! They were full of flavor and the steak picado taste homemade like my moms. Tacos Omanas is awesome! The red salsa on the tacos is great! Ernie, the owner, was friendly and took mu order quickly and I was out in a matter of minutes. They also give a couple of chile serranos which was great! Highly recommend them! read more

We were looking for good Mexican food. I always like to go to the mom and pop restaurants because they never fail to surprise your taste buds with flavor (well sometimes they do, lol) and Omanas Tacos did not let us down. The selections are good and the sauces they have there are outstanding. They actually season there meat too, unlike some places. They aren't stingy with the meat either. My go to is the Supreme burrito with asada and Pollo with a mix of red and green sauces. Outside of any other taco place in the area, Omanas tacos will always be me and my wife's first choice. Thank you for your service and provide great food. read more

Hidden in a corner of a strip mall, near 7-11, a liquor store, and behind a Szechwan restaurant. First impression : no air conditioning, sign on the door restrooms for customers only. Also, second sign: Machine broken cash only! Ok.. we figured quick tacos and we will be out. Well, hubby ordered a combo.. meat, rice, tortillas. I ordered a wet burrito. Order is ready, go grab it and We're told rice isn't ready but they can give us rice to go .. when we're done ..ahhh ok??? but she says ... we have u a salad they instead ( some lettuce in place of the rice) .. . What? But this wasn't told to us when we ordered ... as they should have ... they tell us all this after we paid and our food is ready. They new they didn't have rice why not tell us before ... we could have changed our order. What cracks me up is that when we ordered they pushed "the combo" option. She had asked me if i wanted to make it a "combo" with my wet burrito. What ..? I felt a bit scammed ...hubby wanted rice ... and it was EXTRA cash for combo... not nice!! Other points.... It was Sunday 3pm and empty ... how could you not have rice ready . Wet burrito was okay... the sauce was not the usual enchilada sauce we are use to ... it had a very tomato sauce flavor .. more on the spaghetti flavor. When we were done eating i go up to the gal and say , "hey is rice ready yet?" she says oh maybe another 5-10minutes. NOPE no more waiting inside without air AND we were done eating We really wanted to like this place. Friends had recommended it. But, not coming back ... too many other fast food Mexican places to eat at... with rice! read more

Looked up fish tacos in the area and this was one of the first places to pop up, I was a little skeptical because of all the mixed reviews- dropped in at 10:45AM, ordered 2 fish tacos and a bean & cheese burrito (if a Mexican restaurant has a really good bean and cheese burrito i know everything else is fire) the bean & cheese burrito was in the car for maybe 5 minutes, it was luke warm, the beans were not piping hot, they didn't taste fresh. The fish tacos were drenched in sauce, they didn't travel well & there was no lime included. I ordered a side of chips which I didn't mind paying for, they were okay. The salsa verde was tasty, the red salsa had very minimal flavor and smelled a bit sour. The food wasn't terrible but there was definitely nothing spectacular about the meal as a whole. The restaurant could use some TLC in the dining room, the service wasn't terrible, no attitude like I read. Maybe I ordered the wrong things but I don't think I'll return, glad I tried it once! read more

They are a hit and miss type of place. I was impressed with their carne asada tacos and burrito the first time I tried it. The asada was flavorful. The burrito was loaded with meat, beans and rice. On subsequent visits, the meat was kinda of crunchy. Their normal meats are probably safer to order than their exotic stuff as more people order the normal meats. The buche was hard and dry, like it was 3 days old. I've had crispy tripas at other places, but, crispy buche? Stop trying to make everything crispy! Unacceptable! read more

I stumbled upon this taco shop when I was nearby and wanted tacos. Location is in a little plaza. You'll find it if you spot at 7-Eleven. I've had Tacos Omanas at the one in El Monte, and i think this is the same owner because the food tasted similar. |Food| I got a taco plate (you can choose with 2 or 3 tacos) and the nachos to share. The tacos were pretty good. I definitely liked the al pastor better than the asada. I also liked the fish tacos which were something I use to get all the time. It tasted just like the one in El Monte. I highly recommend! It's pretty big compared to other taco shops. What I wished they included were onions and cilantro. Tacos aren't complete in my opinion without it! The nachos came in such a big portion. I was with my family and we couldn't finish it. The price is pretty decent and portions are good. |Service| EH. The lady who took the order was kind of rude. I asked her a few questions regarding my order and she gave me an attitude. Definitely not welcoming at all. I think this is what the other reviews said too.. Not sure what her problem is. |Parking| Small lot but since it's next to a laundry mat, liquor store, and 7-Eleven, people do come and leave often. |Overall| I won't be coming back. This tiny little hole-in-the-wall serves up some AMAZING food. I regularly come here on my lunch break to get a couple of their asada tacos and carnitas tacos - with cheese and lettuce added. They're small street-style tacos dripping in salsa/juice, and they're delicious. Their carnitas are amazing. Sometimes I mix it up and get a carne asada burrito - which is probably one of the best asada burritos I've ever had. This is a fast-food place, nothing fancy, but when you want some GOOD quick tacos that are easy on the budget but made right, come here. It's located at the back of the alley parking lot next to the laundromat. read more

Called in to order today and they got our order completely wrong. It was most likely due to a language barrier as it was hard to communicate our order to the lady on the phone. Not too sure what happened... Every modification we made was wrong. Tomato's were not omitted from our taco and beans were not omitted from our burrito. Also, there was no onions/cilantro on our beef tacos and we didn't receive it on the side. I do like their tortilla and the fish taco but everything else we ordered(tripa burrito, asada taco, shrimp taco) was mediocre. read more

Ordered over the phone, about 10 minutes before I got there. Two burritos. Chorizo, egg, bean burrito & then the supreme breakfast burrito. Waited and 10 min(no biggie) wasn't in a rush 25$ with two drinks it was alllll so delicious. The chorizo was cooked the way i like it. Beans had flavor to them. My friend said the supreme burrito "damn this is amazing, where is this from again" and I said TACOS OMANAS. Will be coming for breakfast burritos yummy yummmy I want to try the chicharones burrito next read more

Can't complain, the food was delicious. LOTS of meat in tacos I got. Tried the carnitas...pretty good. Tried the adobada...really good but I think it'd taste better if they used a bit less of the marinade to taste the meat a little more. And last but not least I had a cabeza taco which was THE BEST one! Would go back especially for that and to try the rest of their menu. read more

I love good service, and Tacos Omañas delivered. I asked how spicy their Chile verde was, and the lady helping me said let me get you some to try. I love being able to support family businesses and eat great food. Love that they opened up for lunch so early with I worked 6am shifts and had 10am lunches, they were already open with savory lunch options. Prices are always reasonable and most importantly the food is always yummy. read more

This food is terrible! If you are looking for good Mexican food, DO NOT COME HERE!! This is not real Mexican food.. the beans are obviously canned beans and the meat is just not good. I asked for salsa and both the red and green salsas SUCK. neither one is spicy or has a good flavor. This was a waste of $14! read more

I ordered tacos Al pastor and my friend ordered beef lengua burrito. There were no texture in the meat. The flavor was not bad as it tasted like marinated meat. I asked for green salsa in it but I didn't really taste it. My friends said his burrito tasted more like bean burrito. Overall, don't recommend unless you like very very tender meat that is chopped up. read more

Boy i dont think their cooks understand plain english!! i asked for my bean n cheese burrito to please cook the tortilla more than usual only bcuz in the past the flour tortilla tasted uncooked n made me gag!! when i got my burrito home it was uncooked i had to re grill the burrito & it fell apart!! Ordered a burrito de carne asada to go . All it comes with is lots and lots of beans and salsa and a bit of meat . It's Super greasy and salty. Meat is ok but it's missing the rice, onion and cilantro. Won't come back here anymore. Prices went up to so u get less and you pay more. Guys are super nice so I thought when I got home I would have got a deal :( read more

I've lived here for over five years now! I have been eating at Tacos Omanas the whole time. After five years I will positively say that this place is a legit, home cooked, consistent flavor and delicious! They have always cooked the same recipes and they have stood committed to this even during the high costs nowadays for everything. Because of that I am writing f this review. Everything is good here but I recommend you try their refried beans. Amazing flavors! read more

The waiter was so upset he was complaining that others have fit why not you guys. I said you know what I don't want to bother you any more so I told my party let's go. I also know that occasionally in the bar they overcharge for cocktails thinking customers will not notice because they've been drinking and bartenders refuse to adjust the check. This is terrible and now you know.

I've never left reviews on places before but since I've been going to the Omana's in El Monte since I was a teenager and have never had any complaints, I thought it might be a good idea. Keep in mind that this happened a few weeks ago so I have no idea if the issue has been resolved, I just passed the business earlier today and haven't been able to stop thinking about it since. In El Monte the food has always been good, the service has always been quick and the guys polite. so naturally when I heard that they were opening another business here in Covina I was excited to try it out and at first everything was great the food was just as good as the original and the service was great, so I was more then glad to go back. This place was a more updated version then the original and seemed to be a family based place, which was nice. Sadly when I did return there was a man in the back making a scene, yelling and cussing. I couldn't be positive that he worked there but from the reaction of the other workers, a man and a woman who seemed nervous, I assumed that he did. Needless to say I left, though I'm not sure if anyone had noticed my being there to begin with. As I was coming out of the 7 - eleven in the same parking lot around 5 minutes later I saw the same man storming out still ranting and cussing up a storm. Like I said this seems like a family based business and all families have there problems but there is a time and a place for everything and I really don't think then and there was either. While I'll probably give it another try, I'm pretty sure I'll return to the original Omana's in El Monte. 1 star for the food, 1 for the first visit and -3 for the 2nd. read more

The food was great the first time I went it was the second visit that I got a hair in my burrito disappointing to see they don't wear hats with ladies working there with long hair. When I go to other places even mom and pop places everyone either has hats or hair nets it's not sanitary otherwise. Also even though the food is good the service is still better at their other spot in El Monte the girl working here seemed confused, never said thank you and couldn't speak Spanish worst of all what kind of Mexican restaurant do they not speak Spanish at hopefully it improves because I work near by and am a loyal customer at their El Monte location anytime I'm in the area. read more

I am writing this review to let everyone know this restaurant has cockroaches and it needs to be closed down permanently before anyone gets seriously ill . I have contacted the Covina health department department to inform them that this establishment has cockroaches and the owner Rey baldizon simply does not care about his customers health read more

I started coming here not too long ago with my girlfriend. We heard that they had THE best tacos in town. We've only really tried their Nachos so far but their chips are fresh-made, orders come out quick and the customer service is always on point.
