Horchata
Tiffany P.

I ordered through doordash & it came really quick! The Al Pastor burrito was hands down my favorite. It was packed w flavor and had nice ratio of all ingredients. The carne asada burrito was delicious as well, but that al pastor was definitely a must have. The horchata wasn't too sweet and it was perfect. I've visited this location before & its located in the lakeshore area so it may be hard to find parking. There is seating inside and its nice. But i rather just grab and go! I definitely recommend this spot.

2 tacos el pastor, guac and chips
Irena S.

Came here on a Tuesday, party of 2. I got 2 el pastor tacos and a side of guac and chips. If you're driving, the easiest place to park in my opinion is the Trader Joe's parking lot , with a quick stroll to the restaurant. We came around 1pm, but quickly after that a bigger lunch rush came and there was a longer line out the door. Don't get this location confused with the vegan version nearby! Pros: - Easy menu to navigate, which they have at the register (although I would recommend you make your decision quickly if there's a lot of people waiting). They give you a number which you can take to your table inside or outside. - Great for small parties of 2, cute seating inside and outside seating if you prefer. - delicious guac!!! comes with lots of chips - self-serve water glasses - easy process to bus your own plates/dishes and trash inside - delicious tortillas, house made! - 2 tacos and guac was pretty filling for me! Very hearty meal and really hit the spot - Fast casual vibe - Very Oakland coded! Cons: - can be busy lunch or dinner, and not great for larger parties due to sitting space. Parking can be hard if the Trader Joe's lot is full, or if you don't like walking through areas that smell like urine (this doesn't phase me but if this bothers you, you might not like this area lol)

Rico Rico on Lakeshore is a staple for the best fried fish tacos. We frequent this location often, and the easy going nature of the location, combined with its convenient proximity to things like Trader Joe's make it a prime location. With later evening hours, the quick and friendly service can get you what you need so you're fed and can be on your way. Though a small location, Rico Rico is kept clean and the staff are quick to provide assistance with any needs during your visit. The location also boasts an interior glass window, which allows the restaurant team to see their customers and for customers to get a peek at all the activity in the kitchen, without being bombarded by the scent of food preparation. This location gets quite busy at lunch each day, so plan accordingly and park strategically. In addition to this primary location, there is a near by Rico Rico Vegano for all the vegan heads out there. We've had their burritos, chips and guac, but always come back to our beloved pescado tacos. Great location with service and quality eats.

Fish taco, Taco Al Pastor

Best tacos by Lake Merritt for sure. I didn't go enough when I lived here but whenever I'm back in Oakland and by the lake I try to stop by! The Al pastor is seasoned so well and the pineapple slice is ‍ it's a pretty chill vibe inside and there are some limited tables outside as well.

Carne asada and pastor tacos

Small place with about 6 tables but the chairs are comfy for bigger folks. Ordering was easy and efficient. Customer service was great. I had three tacos which came out to $18. Salsa comes in packets like Taco Bell. They do have habanero salsa for my spice queens. Tacos are tasty Parking is awful.

Just needed to grab a quick bite before a screening at Grand Lake and a friend recommended Rico Rico. What a great tip! Quick, efficient, and delicious. Especially loved the crispy carnitas, but the fish was also yummy.

Tacos (chicken and beef)

Just recently discovered Rico Rico and it has easily become our new favorite spot. We've ordered takeout a few times from here now and each time hit the spot! I highly recommend their burritos! The carne asada is my favorite. They do not skimp out and give a perfect ration of meat, rice and beans. The tacos are another amazing item. Although it's a bit pricey, it's totally worth it for the tortilla and delicious goodness! They package it nicely in containers separating out each taco, which is nice especially if you're getting different meats. The meat options are great, each is flavorful and also not fatty cuts of meat! My fav salsa is their green salsa, I cannot get enough of it. I also love the pouch packaging it comes in, makes it easier to add a little salsa at a time onto my burrito with each bite. If you're looking for some good food then definitely check out Rico Rico!

Tried the Al Pastor and Carnitas tacos--both packed with flavor, though a bit too spicy for my taste. They were definitely on the greasy side, but super filling, so you won't leave hungry. Great for a hearty, indulgent taco fix if you can handle a little heat.

Food was good Enjoyed the burrito. Wasn't dry and the sauce was *kiss* Shrimp tacos were ok, I usually only like deep fried shrimp tacos so this is a bias statement Service friendly. they're so busy so there's a bit of a wait, but you can watch them cook. Family ambiance but limited seating.

Super fast, super fresh, super flavorful. That's Rico Rico! Absolutely enjoyed this bright, buzzing taco joint near Lake Merritt. Grabbed some tacos with my friends before a movie at the Grand Lake Theatre, and we were in-and-out in about 30 minutes. Definitely the perfect casual spot to grab dinner before a movie or walk around the park. Seating is limited for groups above 4, but there are plenty of small tables both inside and outside. Water is self-serve, and you order at the counter but they deliver it to your table. Quick service! My favorite part was how the kitchen has an open window so you can watch them prepare your meal-- amazing to see how well their team works together to bring fast, fresh food. Al pastor was my fav, but both the carne asada and fish tacos held their own. Small packets of house-made sauce was more than enough for my three tacos. Be sure not to confuse this location with Rico Rico Vegano around the corner -- I assume it's the vegan branch of the restaurant, but it confused some of our party who ended up waiting at the wrong store!

Reginice C.

This will be one of my go-tos when visiting the Oakland area. They are not lacking on flavor! Rico Rico has mastered this, flavor. The pollo(chicken) quesadilla 10/10. The carne asada and soyrizo tacos 10/10. The camaron(shrimp) taco 1/10; the texture of the vegan shrimp was too odd and the taco itself was overwhelming it had so many toppings. The esquites 10/10. Jamaica drink 10/10. If you're looking for some delicious vegan eats, stop looking and order Rico Rico now. P.S. those house salsas are so good, they should bottle and sell it!

3205 Lakeshore Ave Oakland, CA 94610 I came just for the tacos! Rico Rico Taco was featured on "Check Please! Bay Area" a few years ago. I was in the area, and decided to try their Baja Fish Taco (my fav). But to be fair, I ordered a variety of tacos. So, I ordered to-go: - Taco de Carne Asada (steak) - Taco de Pescado (fried fish) - Taco de Carnitas (fried pork) - Taco de Camaron (shrimp) plus chips 4 tacos, total was about $20 Service was friendly, but I had to wait over 20-mins for my order. But it was worth the wait. Thick and fresh handmade tortillas for loaded tacos! Probably one of the best Fried Fish Taco I have ever had! Big pieces of fried fish, w/ chipotle crema, cabbage, pico de gallo ,and pickled onions. Very filling, these are not tiny tacos. My 2nd best was the shrimp taco. Also loaded and heavy with fillings. But the fried pork and steak tacos were nothing special. If I'm in the area again, I'm just getting the Fish Tacos. Street Parking.

25 cent bag fee for this and another 25 cent bag fee for a drink cup?
Stephen H.

The Al Pastor was pretty good. I like that they grill it. My issues were that it wasn't too busy but they didn't let me know my food was ready when I was sitting there. They may have called me once but the service staff was just mulling around while I was still waiting I would hope they could be more present to know I'm waiting and especially the person that took my order should know what I'm waiting for. If it were busy I'd have understood the not caring. The other thing that gets me is the bag fee. My single burrito came in a tiny paper bag but they charge 25 cents. When I went back to get a drink on a second order they also charged me again a 25 bag fee for horchata. I told them I didnt need a bag but they said it was for the cup? So a burrito and a drink is 50 cents in bag fees? Seems nickle and diming to me just charge whatever it costs I don't appreciate hidden fees that only come out when you check out.

Al pastor burrito is legit. One of the better burritos I had in a while. Would be top tier if it came with avocado or guac and sour cream.

Each of my tacos was great, but the mushroom one stood out. The mushrooms were cooked perfectly and had a slight crunch which gave them an excellent texture. They were also incredibly well seasoned. My barbacoa and Chile verde tacos were also solid with some nice topping variation that helped mix up the flavors and texture. Oscar's service is good and straightforward. Place your order up front and either grab a table there or walk to their back patio. I LOVE the back area on a sunny day and would highly recommend it. We ordered pork shoulder, chicken, and charred broccoli tacos, as well as a tostada with elote and an agua fresca. The braised pork pulled aprt tenderly to reveal the chiles that imparted their subtle flavor. The mayonnaise spread thinly across the tostada was equal parts spicy and tangy, and almost too intense if not for the corn and squash layered onto it. (Perhaps the veggies were slightly under-seasoned to balance the mayo? I was a bit underwhelmed by them.) The agua de melon was syrupy in texture with a smoothness you don't often find. If there is one caveat, it is the price tag. Get yourself two tacos and call it a light meal, otherwise the tab starts adding up!

From the outside, it looks like a straightforward taco truck, but wow was I surprised. I ordered the Carnitas Super Taco, which came loaded with lettuce, cheese, cilantro, onions, sour cream, and guacamole. Everything was fresh, well seasoned, and packed with flavor. My only complaint? You only get one taco per order because I definitely could've eaten another. The Kid ordered the Carne Asada Super Taco and before we even pulled away, she was asking for a second one. That's usually a pretty good sign. We also tried the horchata and jamaica, and both were delicious. The horchata was creamy and flavorful, while the jamaica was refreshing and not overly sweet. What surprised me most was how quickly they got the food out, especially considering how popular this spot seems to be. A few things to know: * Cash or Venmo only * Parking can be a challenge, but it's worth it * Keep an eye out for the new speed cameras in the area Their hours are another plus: Open daily, 9:30am- midnight Overall, this was one of those pleasant surprises that reminds you not to judge a place by appearances. The flavors are rich and laid on thick. We ordered a veggie burrito, a bean and cheese burrito with rice added, and three tacos (carne, pollo asado, and Cameron's). The carne melted in my mouth, since it was rich with rendered fat, and the tortillas were crisped around the outside to melt and seal the layer of cheese inside. Probably our best overall dish was the bean-cheese-rice burrito -- covered in their salsas and peppers -- since it balanced all the ingredients and textures. On the other hand, the veggie burrito brought the flavor, but between the crema, pico, guacamole, and cheese it ended up soggy halfway through and the tortilla threatened to come loose. The shrimp and chicken were forgettable, and the tortillas come crispy off the griddle but they are damp by the time you walk anywhere to sit. What captures the truck in a nutshell are the chips they serve, covered in a seasoning that replicates Doritos flavor. Sometimes that is exactly what you need. But you can get it elsewhere easily too.

I'd thought the place had lost its touch, but maybe it was just an off day. Today in May of 2026 I've managed to visit while it's a slow day, and I was pleasantly satisfied with my food. I ordered a Carnitas burrito, and it was just as delicious as I'd remembered it one decade ago. While I was eating the first half of my burrito I was thinking "this is good, but burritos are good.. is it better than other burritos I've had, and why?" Something is different about burritos at Tacos Sinaloa, the food reflects that of some regional tacos trucks scattered throughout the East bay, but they're very distinct in how well they're capable of doing this style of Mexican food. As I said earlier- burritos are good. I think they are good because everything tastes good together, but not all burritos are created equal. The first thing that stood out to me about my burrito was the tortilla. It's not your standard tortilla, and it's nothing extravagant, but it seemed intentional. The tortilla is softer, thinner, and it holds up, but it's not chewy. It's there and it soaks up the oils and it doesn't take away from anything. In my experience, a bad tortilla can make a burrito less enjoyable. This tortilla adds in that it's barely there and it's pleasant because it soaks up the flavors without detracting. On the insides, the beans and rice can give or take away depending on where you get your burrito from. At Tacos Sinaloa on this particular day, the beans and rice did not take away from the burrito. The pinto beans were plum and creamy, and tasted like pintos. No nonsense- they added because they didn't subtract, I could go on about grainy beans or starchy over seasoned bean liquid, but NONE OF THAT HERE. The rice had perfect texture. It almost like 'al dente', but not in a chewy way, it had just enough rice texture and didn't get in the way of the other ingredients. It was mildly seasoned with your classic Mexican rice (aromatic tomato broth like flavor). No nonsense, no unnecessary spices, not over saturated in liquid, or turned to mush. Just good simply season rice. Cheese and sour cream- Salty Mexican cheese, presumably Oaxaca or something similar. Adds little salty flavor explosions throughout the burrito. Sour cream, added tangy acidity that cuts through the fatty ness making it taste more lively. Of coarse, the lovely creaminess. If you're not having your burrito with these I'm very sorry for you. The star of the show- The Carnitas here is just done right. It's not over seasoned with anything, it just tastes like melty delicious braised pork shoulder, then fried to accentuate it with crispy mallard bits that surprise you throughout the burrito. Towards the end of my experience I came to the conclusion that what makes a Tacos Sinaloa burrito good is that its ingredients forward- each ingredient tastes good on its own, and that can't be said for all burritos. It's not a burrito for the sake of being a burrito. All the ingredients seem intentionally chosen so that none get in the way of one another. I want to say they make the meat the star of the show, but even if you were to have a bean and rice and cheese + sour crème burrito here it would be an exceptional burrito, which is a testament to their culinary philosophy. Last but not least- yes they have salsa, and of coarse it's good, and I love that they give lemon slices with your food - it's another small intentional detail that they offer lemon instead of lime. Carnitas burrito 5/5. Sinaloa overall 4/5 because of inconsistency.

The short walk after dinner ended up being nice anyway. We had reservations, although we did wait about 15 extra minutes while another party finished their meal. My family member pointed out they were enjoying drinks, so that probably added some time. The waiter was very friendly, attentive, and clearly trying to get us seated as quickly as possible. Water was brought to the table right away, and our drink order was taken promptly. I ordered the chicken salad and was pleasantly surprised to learn the mango vinaigrette dressing did not contain oils, since I personally avoid seed oils. The salad was fresh and delicious. Some of my family members ordered the buffet, which looked incredible. At first it seemed like too much food for me that day, but once I saw everything included, I started thinking maybe I should have ordered it too since it was only about seven dollars more. They brought complimentary chips, guacamole, and salsa to the table, and everything was so flavorful. The guacamole was especially delicious, and they happily refilled the chips several times. I finally understood why the restaurant is called "Los Moles" because their mole sauces are outstanding. I got to try some from my son's plate, and it definitely made me want to come back and explore more of the different mole options. They also offer vegetarian choices, which is great. Although I am very particular about cooking surfaces, my food is cooked on and in, the Mexican coffee which was heated in some type of who knows what metal, had a good flavor. It inspired me to re-create it at home. Another standout for me was the freshly made corn tortillas served with the meals. They were soft, warm, and incredibly good. I also tried the beans, which were full of flavor. Overall, this restaurant really stood out in my memory, and I definitely want to return someday to try more moles.

As we waited, we noticed a steady stream of online orders, indicating this is a popular place with those in the neighborhood. We got a few beers while we waited for a table. They also have Thai iced teas/coffee/lemonade, and serve young coconuts with water. We got a bunch of appetizers to share and some entrees. We got the crispy rice pork salad, this is served with lettuce leaves and herbs and a wedge of lime. I loved this dish - the crispy rice and ground pork combination was balanced and the squeeze of lime juice made for a perfect bite wrapped in a lettuce leaf with mint and cilantro. Next was the Bird & Buffalo Chicken wings, perfectly crispy and tossed in salt and pepper. Good for folks who don't enjoy the spice. We also got the grilled pork spare ribs to share, which folks enjoyed. For entrees we had the drunken noodles with pork, green curry with rice and massaman curry with rice. I could have done with a spicier version of the green curry, but it was flavorful and satisfying. Overall, a solid spot for Thai food - we will be back to sample some of their other dishes too!
