My family went to Tacos Selene last Sunday and it was an awesome place. The prices were very reasonable and, most importantly, the food was delicious. I had a beef torta and it was very large and delicious tasting, with just a kick of spice. I shared half with my son since half was plenty. Other family members ordered their tacos and tortas (one with pork and pineapple). Really tasty. I am not a hot sauce person myself, but my husband is and they make a homemade hot sauce (almost looked like a creamy mayo based sauce?) that he said was very good too. Fast casual family run restaurant, authentic Mexican food! The salsa bar is a highlight here with multiple hot salsas as well as medium and mild. The pico de Gallo was very spicy with chopped jalapeños. You order at the counter, get your own drink, then have a seat. They bring your food in about 5 minutes. I had street tacos with fresh corn tortillas and my husband had a burrito with flour tortilla. The food is tasty, and the salsa bar allowed us to have a variety of flavors in each bite. Very good tacos. They are simple street tacos, but done very well. I had the Al Pastor, Barbacoa, and the Tongue. All were excellent. The Al Pastor and Barbacoa tacos were $1.50 and the Tongue was $2.00. There was a salsa bar that had 6 or 8 different types of salsa to try. Two words of caution: 1) The place can be very busy at lunch. If you are going right in the heart of lunch time, you might want to call ahead to put in your order. 2) The chips and queso looked average and unexciting. I didn't order it and only saw it on a neighboring table and I don't generally like chips and queso, so I may be a poor judge. But I won't be ordering it the future either. read more

Walked in and smelled it form a lady mopping on one side, but we figured she'd stay on that half. Nope. They mop with smelly fabuloso all around tables while you are eating! If there had been anywhere to sit outside, besides in the car, we would've gone outside. We had to ask for the door to be propped open while we gagged. I think our food was good except for the greasy steak taco which tasted like fat, but how would you know when your senses are filled with horrible solutions smell? We were looking for a quick but good place for tacos. The menu was so much more than Tacos! I got a lengua taco and the Pupusa with chicharon and queso. My wife loved her quesadilla. In Non-covid times, they offered a salsa bar, now you request the salsas you want and they give them to you. The Pico de Gallo and avocado salsas were tasty, but they were both spicy. Tacos Selene definitely satisfies your taco craving. Been wanting to try this place specifically for the authentic street tacos of course. Unfortunately I didn't get the pleasure of going in and adding the salsa's myself and sitting down but thats okay, I just devoured them in my car...then went and ordered 6 more. I tried the pollo, asada, pastor and barbacoa. The barbacoa and asada really stood out for me, not to say the others weren't good they were delicious but they do their asada and barbacoa very well. I loved the topping options they give you too! Unlike other places they have pickled onions, jalapeños and a bunch of others options to top off you tacos. The staff was very polite and food came out super quick. I felt bad because I came pretty close to closing but they let me order then order again along with a lot of other customers which was great. I find it hard to give a full well-deserving review admits the COVID pandemic. This goes for all places. I have to give the restaurants the benefit of the doubt simply by just imaging the impact it may have on their business, employee and families in all sorts of aspects. Im sure I could have better experiences going out, and we all have, but just giving the slightest consideration makes you appreciate whatever it is you're given. Tacos Selene is our favorite little taco joint in town. Simple, with few ingredients, their tacos are perfect size and flavor. I get the steak tacos every time so maybe the rest are just as good, if not more, it I am partial to those and am content not changing it up. My husband has tried almost all of them and gets something different every time. I sometimes also get their bean and cheese poupusa to share with one of the kids, and they are really good, too! Great little hole in the wall with great Mexican food. I had a smothered burrito with lengua. Lengua can be hard to find, and theirs was meaty and tender - think carne asada, only more beefier! Green chili is my favorite for smothered burritos; their's was a little runny, but tasted good. Bf had 3 tacos - asada, adobada, and al pastor - so steak, pork and pork with pineapple. I grew up in San Diego and spent a lot of time in Mexico, and this place has the same style tacos I grew up eating. Very good carne asada and carnitas. The torta was very fresh and soft and filled with guacamole, cilantro, and meat. The prices are also reminiscent of the prices of my youth. As opposed to most places that are selling burritos for 15-20 this place is priced much better and the quality is great. read more
