    Vegan Tan Tan Ramen, delicious!
    Eddie R.

Craving for a vegan ramen and this place did not disappoint. Very tasty and excellent noodles. Will definitely be back here again. Service staff is friendly and ambiance is okay. It's located in the second floor of international marketplace, inside the Japanese grocery. Reminds me of Niue Japan visit.

Taiga Ramen located in the Mitsuwa Market of the International Market Place is my go to ramen spot in Waikiki. It's very casual, the AC is pumping and there is always good seating available to enjoy your meal. Kevin makes the best Tan Tan! Pro tip: Add an egg. :)

Amazing ramen!! Best I've had!! Very friendly service :) feels very homey and relaxed being inside the market.

I had the shio ramen with an egg add-on ($3 for egg add-on but I feel like I can't have ramen without an egg). The noodles were thin and al dente when it came out. The ramen broth was a nice dashi shio - on the saltier side (if you don't like salty, perhaps opt out). I felt pretty satiated after this, but this was definitely a little bit heavier of a ramen. There is seating inside the food court in the back of the Mitsuwa Market. You can get other snacks and drinks to eat from the Mitsuwa. Keep in mind that restrooms might be closed. Tasty but heavier -- don't think I'll be back! It was too heavy for me and gave me a bit of a stomachache.

Some ramen after a swim at the pool. Such a fulfilling meal. The gyoza was really good with the sauce & we also got some Takoyaki that was also cooked very well. I personally enjoyed my ramen, the broth was nice and light and flavorful. Omg yum. The wait for our ramen wasn't too long and we love that it's in the mitsuwa market place because we get to grab a few other things while we're there.

Good place for moderately priced ramen. Probably the cheapest ramen on Waikīkī. The shoyu and miso ramen were good and the portions were big.

This place seriously hit the spot. The ramen was amazing--the broth had so much flavor, the noodles had the perfect chew, and the toppings were generous. The chashu was super tender and the egg was cooked just right. Easily one of the best bowls I've had in a while. We also tried the chicken karaage, which was crispy on the outside and juicy inside (definitely recommend a squeeze of lemon), and the gyoza, which were perfectly pan-fried and tasty. And they've got cold draft beer, which just makes everything better. The fact that it's inside Mitsuwa makes it even better--you get that fun food court vibe, then you can walk around and shop for snacks after. Definitely a spot I'll come back to when I'm craving ramen.

Taiga ramen is a very solid option for any body looking to scratch their ramen itch of the Shoyu category. This being my second lunch of the day, I went and ordered the Shoyu in the hopes this broth was less heavy than their other options like the spicy, tan tan or miso profiles and I think it was. Despite being lighter, this broth was flavor packed. The one thing like another reviewer mentioned was the noodles were very generic. However, this is that simple, safe option for ramen whenever you're in the mood but may not know what exactly it is that you want. The broth, and toppings will more than satisfy the innate yearning for some warm, comforting food if that's what you need. When I get the chance I will be coming back for some of their other options. But if you're in mitsuwa or even nearby I'd say go and check it out!

Located at mitsuwa marketplace in international food court. Parking for international marketplace: A minimum purchase of $25.00 at any merchant is required for validation. Validation is offered by all stores and restaurants. Standard parking rate - $4.00 per 30 minutes Rates with Validation: First Hour - Free Second Hour - $2.00 Third Hour - $2.00 After the third hour, standard rates apply. Which isn't too bad some places in Waikiki are $3 per half hour. Great ramen, we love the tan tan ramen it's a rich broth and completely different from gomatei which we are used to. Also their chicken Karaage is one of the best, very ligit Karaage that you would be getting from a street vendor in Japan! Added the egg and cooked perfectly still runny inside and not cooked through! I think the chicken was $5 add on and egg was $3 add on lol by the end it was $25 but worth it! Service is also great same guy we saw working there the two times we went and he validated our parking too! Inside mitsuwa there's also Gogo curry right next door, a wagyu bento bowl spot and seating food court style, Bathrooms are also located in mitsuwa but looks like they locked it up now and you need to ask for the code. You could also buy some sushi, bentos, sashimi at mitsuwa and sit down and eat, show your state ID for Kama'aina discount!

You don't want to miss the awesome selection of ramen at this small restaurant in the rear of the Mitsuwa marketplace in the royal Hawaiian center. The service was excellent and my spicy miso ramen was some of the best. Prices are definitely reasonable for the area.

Delicious Tan Tan with lots of vegetarian options! Great "cheap eat" choice- filling and soothing! Nothing beats a hot bowl of ramen with tasty broth! Not crowded- plenty of seats for the family!

Legit ramen place. Loved the clean very tasty broth and the texture of the thin ramen! Highly recommend this spot in this small food court.

The broth was clean and flavorful, and there was a good amount of noodles. They have a lunch special every day from 11 AM to 2 PM. The beef was also very flavorful. The gyoza were just okay--not bad, but nothing special. Service was good and our food came out pretty quickly. I'd definitely come back here again for lunch. For the price, I think it's a great little spot for a quick and satisfying ramen lunch.

We ordered Soyu noodles and the spicy tonkotsu noodles. The Soyu noodles arrived early. The initial appearance the egg was overcooked. Took a bite and the egg was stone cold and the broth was lukewarm. Eventually the spicy tonkotsu arrived and I don't mind it arriving later because I want my noodles hot. The egg in tonkotsu is as also stone cold and overcooked. My broth was hot and flavorful. The food has good flavor but some dishes are hot and some are lukewarm. Service: The server eventually came back and asked what was wrong with the Soyu ramen because my husband barely touched it. He said the egg was cold and the broth was lukewarm. They said the egg is supposed to be cold. We explained we have been to Japan and I grew up in Japan and explained that is not how ramen is served in Japan. They came back and said the manager was made aware of the ramen. The server then said many customers complain the broth is not hot enough. I explained if you are aware of this issues, fix it or you will go out of business. Cleanliness: average Bathroom cleanliness: bathroom needs attention below average. Sadly this is our last time here. Quality control issues that staff and managers are aware and have not corrected.

The sauce to dip the noodles in was good. It was flavorful, salty, and sweet. My wife had a bowl of ramen. I got to try the soup and it tasted really good. I also like how thick it was. I don't like thin soup on my ramen, so this I really liked. My daughter was gulping down her noodles... just shoving it into her mouth. That is a huge thing for me because she's picky with food. We also had the potato mochi. I also liked that one. It had good texture, crunch, and chew. It was brushed with a glaze. The flavor was good. I'm not a chicken karaage guy. But I'm mentioning it because we ordered it. The chicken karaage were good chunks of chicken. Not like other places who give small chunks. My wife liked it because it had more chicken than batter. Service - The Place had good service. The food came out on time. Servers were checking up on us without hovering or being overbearing. They paid attention when we called asking for help. I was listening to the workers, and they seem to like being there. I mean, "work is work", and no one REALLY LIKES going to work. I'm pretty sure we'd all rather be someplace else besides work. Maybe I caught them in a good mood, but, it genuinely seemed like the moral in the place was good and the people working there that night didn't mind being there. Vibe - Small, family vibe. I liked that there was buzz but it wasn't loud. When we came, most of the people there were older, but as we left later in the evening, a more younger crowd started lining up and coming in. That tells me, they appeal to a wide demographic/pallet, which is good. Overall, it's going on the list of places to go back to and recommend. I don't really like going to ramen places during the summer because it's hot. But I would go here.

Overall, what had been something we'd been looking forward to for years turned out to be a dismal disappointment. The experience left us feeling unwelcome, particularly because it seemed the staff were uncomfortable with two men simply going out for lunch. Being a Black and Asian couple shouldn't have any bearing on how paying customers are treated, but unfortunately, that's how the experience felt to us. We can overlook mediocre food or service, but feeling judged or unwelcome is something we won't overlook. We were there as paying customers and deserved to be treated with the same courtesy and respect as anyone else. Unfortunately, this is a place we won't be returning to, and based on our experience, we would not recommend it to others.
