I probably would have given this place a 2 1/2 star rating but I rounded it up. We definitely ordered the wrong food! The place was relatively crowded for early Friday night. They had the all you can eat fish and chips special, but we didn't feel like eating that tonight. That probably would have been a better choice, though. I had a glass of white wine which was not cold. My husband had beer which was very cold. I had a French dip which was supposed to come with tots and my husband had a mushroom Swiss burger which was supposed to come with potato chips. I got chips and he got fries. We combined them onto a plate and asked for my tots. My bread was so soggy that it wouldn't soak up any of the au jus that came with it. It's just as well since the au jus really had no flavor. The meat was tender and delicious. My husband liked his burger, but the homemade chips were slightly overdone. The tots were fine. I think the pub would be a better place to come and have appetizers and a few beers or other drinks...not wine. read more

RUDE SNIPPY SERVER THEY CLEARLY DON'T NEED OUR BUSINESS!! Went to Tailgaters for dinner with my family, or tried to! The sign said seat yourself. After walking all over the restaurant and in the bar there were no tables, they all had "Reserved" on them I finally found a server and asked if there are any available tables "No they are all reserved for Trivia." (Which didn't start for another hour!) Really? All of them, I asked Then she said, "There are a lot of other restaurants in the area! Have a nice night!" And walks away! Seriously? That's the way you talk to a customer? Unbelievable Yes there are you little smarty pants! And from now on we will be dining in one of them, not Tailgaters!! I am literally without speech that for two weeks in a row, I ordered 2 baked meatball subs with chips and each time I got no chips. 4 orders - 2 each on 2 separate weeks came with NO SIDE. Just a box with a sandwich. I really enjoy tonight when I called to complain that the girl at the counter, trying to sell it to me, when I called from home, by telling me that they put the chips on the side, so as not to get crushed... First off, no - I've been going for years and the chips are always in the same box and secondly, even if you did that, I still got no chips !!! Cmon man. We ordered a large well done pepperoni pizza and 20 boneless wings (half one flavor and the other half a different flavor). Ordered a cheeseburger. When they brought it out it looks like something you would get from McDonald's. Small portions hardly any condiments. In fact Carl's juniors it's a far better value. They need to go two other restaurants and compare their values. The fries were good. The atmosphere was great. A little noisy but understandably so. We stopped coming here well over a year ago because we walked in and were not greeted, given menus, or asked if we needed anything and we walked out after waiting a significant amount of time. Always a good time! I am local so I love coming here to watch the Padres play (go pads!). The staff is always super awesome and attentive. There are so many tvs so you will never miss any game, and you can go with anpther sports enthuiast and still be able to watch seperate games. The food is pretty good, typical bar food. Most is fried and heavy. Their pizza is bomb and the beer selection is dizzying (in a good way). They have different specials throughout the week for food and drinks, which is fun. Dear Tailgaters, We love your food and have never had a bad experience when dining in. Unfortunately over the last year we have had a lot of issues when picking up. Orders have been wrong and service poor. We are at the point where we have to call and make sure our online order was received and how far behind you are. Even after that, when we show up at the given time they haven't even started our order. This happens regularly. My wife is waiting there now at 7 for an online order said to be ready at 6:21 when we placed the order Then 6:30 when I called to confirm it was received. I'm starting to think you don't even start the orders until we come to pick them up. We're not the only ones. I've waited there with others experiencing the same issues. I don't know what to do other than call and ask for a manager every time I order. Just have your staff set expectations better. We have no problem waiting to come pick it up. I'm hoping this feedback is taken as an opportunity to make your restaurant that much better. Please HELP! read more

We've been coming to Tailgaters about once per month for the past 5 years. This location seems to have never completely got its act together post COVID. Different wait staff every visit, and tonight my wife once again got her pizza with the wrong ingredients . . this is the second time in the last 3 visits this has happened . . . at least the waitress comp'd the pizza this time . . . I ordered the classic BLT. Lots of very good bacon. Sufficient tomato. Barely any lettuce. Zero mayonnaise! The sandwich was so dry! Fortunately, I had some mayo at home to use. Two star review is generous as the server "HE" was horrible !!! "HE" was not friendly, not attentive, and actually served our food and drinks OVER the top of a separation wall separating us from other guests walking by. If your looking for good service and "HE" is your server well..... sorry because you won't receive it. I know I keep referring to my server as "HE" as I don't want to say his name and I really don't think there are that many male servers so I guess you or the management will figure it out. This is on a Thursday 11/14 night football game so maybe he was just to busy to provide good service to his customers. When I first moved to Sun City years ago, I went to the Tailgaters off of Lake Pleasant Pkwy to have my pizzas delivered to me. After approx. 1 year, the Peoria location re-directed me to the Tailgaters in Surprise for my home delivery which I continued to use up till a month or so ago when I placed an order with the Surprise Tailgaters. Shortly after the order was placed I received a call from the Peoria location telling me that they are my "go to" for delivery. OK - fine - they took over the pizza order and it was delivered approx. 1 hour later - on time based on their estimate...I had ordered the Supreme with no bell peppers and add artichokes....the pizza showed up with mushrooms instead of artichokes, and the pizza dough in the center was raw. I had always had a good experience with both Tailgater locations so I assumed it was a one off so I let it go. Tonight, I placed an order at the Peoria location for the same Supreme pizza, this time requesting it be well done, no bell pepper, and add artichokes plus a dinner salad with Italian...I received a "I don't know what" pizza...it is missing the ham, the olives are all on two slices, there are 3 little slivers of onion, on 3 different slices, and the artichokes are missing. The salad came with Thousand Island dressing, not Italian. To their credit, the pizza was delivered on time and by the same pleasant gentleman as the pizza delivered the previously. I can see the errors in the receipt - they left out the notation for artichokes and they put Thousand Island instead of Italian. I honestly think they need to put the phone they use to receive to-go orders in another location...it is so noisy at that desk that it's a miracle anyone gets their order right. However, the errors shown in the receipt don't account for the missing ham and the lack of care in the assembly of the pizza. I am not one to post negative reviews - in fact I loathe it! I tried to contact the manager but was put on hold so long I almost lost the will to live, but it is Sat. and they are most likely busy. When the pizza from them is good, it's very, very good, so at some point in the future I am going to give it one more try. I hope I don't have to go somewhere else. read more

The food was great. We both enjoyed what we ate but the service was terrible. We ordered our food and it came out in a reasonable time. It was brought to us by another lady and she was very nice. I ordered a Tailgater Iced Tea and never got it. I think it went to the table next to us who was ordering a ton of alcohol. The lady who was our waitress tried to charge us for us and said that we did get it. We asked her if she saw the glass on our table and she reluctantly took it off of our bill. Don't order through Uber eats. They show up on the site but per the manager Eddie they do not participate with Uber eats. Therefore your order is not processed until the driver shows up and has to put the order in. We waited an hour and a half to find out it was then cancelled. Came here on a Saturday night with my son. The place was busy but fun. The service was great. The food is pretty good. There are plenty of TV's. This is a great place to watch games based on the amount of TV's in the bar and dining area. I had a special request and the manager Eddie went beyond what I expected to help out. I gave this place two stars last year because the service had gotten so bad. It's better. Still inconsistent but better. We enjoy the Tuesday tacos and the XL pizza for under $10 on Wednesdays. Craft beer happy hour prices are still higher here than most places. This used to be one of our go-to happy hour places. Until about a month ago, both the food and service were very good. The food has gone downhill; the service sucks. We just walked out after six servers walked past our table numerous times without even acknowledging that we were sitting there. 15 minutes of being ignored while four servers chit chat with each other is unacceptable. As we walked toward the door, we mentioned to the four of them that no-one had waited on us so we were leaving. All we got in return were four eye rolls. NOVEMBER 2020 To update yet again. We were there tonight for the first time during Covid. Signs at the front door that masks are required. No sign to wait to be seated but paper signs on the tables saying 'Reserved' so we asked a server where to sit. Pizza special was terrific. Beer selection is always good. Service was awesome. BUT. Manager walking around talking to customers - mask under his nose. As he walked by, I asked him to fix his mask and he did. No apology. Just a stare as he pulled his mask up. Bartender mixing drinks - mask under his nose. One server - mask under her nose. Same plastic menus as always. Not wiped down. No sign of tables being wiped off or any extra Covid restrictions in place. Come on, people. This isn't that hard! Protect your customers and yourselves! Fantastic staff here!! Seems like to me the servers here are always hustling around, providing spectacular service! This location is actually pretty big on the inside. Has large seating sections on both the restaurant side and the bar side. It does have a small patio on the north side the the building also. Parking is never an issue here even when it's slammed. There's a extra huge lot north of the building. My friends and I usually pick this place when we all meet up for happy hour. They have a great beer and wine selection. Also I've noticed they have a relatively wide variety of hard liquor here too. I usually order beer from the tab here. My selection normally are with Coors Light or Kilt Lifter. My top favorites for sure! They have a pretty good happy hour menu list of item for either food or alcohol here too. We had a party of 15 people here and the service did not skip a beat! It was awesome! We ordered the big 36 inch pizza they have here plus a ton of appetizers and drinks for the group. We absolutely destroyed the pizza! There was not a crumb left. The pizza was very awesome. It wasn't too greasy, and it had good flavor. I think it was the biggest pizza I've ever seen in my whole life! Haha I love the wings here too! I usually order the medium spice. You can't really go wrong there. There are lots of flat screens hung all over the place. Makes it really cool/ convenient when you are here to catch the game or watch the fight. Pretty much any direction you that you are seated here, you have a few tv's in sight. This is a sports bar with gillions of TV's to watch. They have a all you can eat fish fry that can't be beat on Friday's and the selection of other food is huge. Parking lot is more than ample and once inside the place is very large. Tables are kept clean, everyone wears masks and hand sanitizer is available when you walk in. I have been visiting Tailgaters for over 12 years, not just the Lake Pleasant location, but also the Litchfield Park location. The past month the service has been horrible. 2 weeks ago I order a Calzone, which are awesome! This time it came out 45 min later (not busy) and was like a flat tire and all contents at one end. No one even asked if it was good. Today, I order the fish fry, which I also love, when it came out there was 2 little pads of fish. I requested a reorder at that time. After waiting 30 min I asked what happened. "Oh we will check on it" 10 min later it came out and I sent it back and requested the bill only to be told it was busy. At that time it wasn't. We moved to town a few months ago and this place became one of our favorites due to the great food. Lately, they have been severely understaffed and every time we go the servers are completely overwhelmed, the food takes forever and often comes out cold. We have been coming at least once or twice a week but due to the continued pattern of slow service and slow/cold food, we are losing interest.
