I have a Mercedes C300 I can't tell you the last time I had an oil change but my servicing said I was 8K past due. I came here about 30 minutes to closing they had positive attitudes offered us water and helped me in less than 5 minutes. Ryan assisted me he was educating me about the type of oil I need, how many quarts (I think that's the right term) I suppose to have and he also informed me whoever did my oil change before overfilled my oil and broke my filter off so now I know to never visit that establishment again. He recommended possibly going to Midas next door to see if they could take a look at it but said it wasn't detrimental. Me and my mom both have Mercedes but she has the E350 and she also went to the same previous auto place to have an oil change and was complaining that something wasn't right with how it drove, after explaining this to Ryan he told me to have her come so he can check it out. The following week I came with my mom and her car 15 minutes to closing on a Sunday (sorry) and Ryan wasn't there but Ben was and he was just as sweet and informative. He said he remembered me from last time and checked my mom's filter to see if anything was broken and it wasn't. Once again offered waters, aired up her tires without us asking, topped all her fluids off, and communicated everything that was being done and got us out of there no more than 15 minutes. Even the mechanics who weren't helping us had positive attitudes and were nice. The one with the golds is always smiling and greeting us even when we are being taken care of and it seems like they just have such great teamwork and a very positive atmosphere which is rare to come by at mechanic shops. Don't bother coming here!! I came to get an inspection done and was failed because I was missing a front license plate from a recent accident. You can't get new plates in Texas without an updated inspection and registration. Even the north Dallas tax office said they should not have failed me for only missing a license plate. Had to go across town to get a one trip plate and pay another $15 to the state. Then I come back with a temporary plate and there's a huge wait and they say they have to re-do the entire inspection because the plate number is different. Whole ordeal took over 4 hours!! The biggest waste of time when according to the state office they should never have failed me in the first place! read more

really wish I could not even give 1 star because that is too much. On Tuesday the 12th I went to Take 5 for an oil change. The gentleman that worked on my car stated that the drain plug that was in my car was entirely too big and that he was going to put the correct one for my car. He gave me the drain plug he took out, and proceeded. He came back to my vehicle and advised that he put the new one in, but it wouldn't tighten the way it needed to because of the previous one being so big. He then proceeded to tell me that my car would leak out some of the oil, but I would be fine, but I did need to go to who I previously went to. I went to the other shop and they advised the tech should have either put the same plug back in or shouldn't have touched it at all. They stated they would not touch it because they wouldn't be liable. I left there and went to pickup my daughter from school. We came home, and the next morning when I went out to take her to school, all of the oil had leaked out and I had to call a friend to take her to school. Fast forward to today, I have been calling Take 5 every single day. They have been promising me that a tow truck would be coming within an hour or 2 to pickup my vehicle so their mechanic can do an investigation. I have continuously called, no one has been calling me back to update me or anything. This has been the WORST service I have EVER dealt with in my life. I am still without my vehicle and my daughter hasn't stayed home in over a week because I can't get her to and from school. Before going to Take 5 I had a perfectly good running car. This has been such a huge inconvenience for my daughter and myself. Update: They lied and said I had all of these things wrong with my car and denied my claim twice. If I initially had an oil leak why did they mess with the car??? Their 3rd party claims fleet response is just as horrible. The man basically said it's their word against mine. When I got there it was $69 and they said my car needed full synthetic even though I have gotten the blend for years. They told me the call center doesn't have correct pricing. All you will get are slow service, mistakes, high prices and apologies at Take 5. I originally thought that due to the close proximity to my home, 4 miles, I would be OK with paying a bit more than the dealer which is 15 miles away. From when I parked with no cars in front of me to finish it took 1 hour 45 minutes on Sunday morning. That took much longer than I expected. I was not informed of the wait time when I arrived. The technicians did apologize about the wait time at the end of the service. At this point I was dripping with sweat from the 90+ degree heat and humidity but OK with the wait. But then things got much worse... Paid $67 after 25% discount for Mobil 1 oil change. The discounted price is average. I would not have paid the $90 regular price. Acura dealer charges less, $60 regular price, for Pennzoil full synthetic. And many times Acura has discounted the oil and filter change to $35 during email promos. I went home and looked at the line items on the invoice in detail. $40 for a cabin filter? It takes less than 2 minutes to replace as it is located in the car's glove box. I was not informed of the cabin filter price at any time during the service. I realized it was much more than my previous replacement after I compared it to my last invoice for the same filter. My last cabin filter replacement was done 7000 miles ago at another repair shop located 3 miles away on Trinity Mills for $23 part and labor. 73% more expensive at Take 5 is exorbitant. I called Take 5 and the manager told me I should have been told the price of the cabin filter but he could do nothing about it. BTW at Autozone or Amazon this cabin filter costs $10. Finally, here is the worst part of the Take 5 oil change experience. Later on Sunday afternoon when i drove my car with the A/C on at high fan speed, I heard a noise coming from the cabin filter location. I went back the next morning to have this checked out. It turns out the cabin filter was not installed properly and the folds of the filter were jammed out of place. The empty space (basically there was a big hole where the filter should be) caused a leaf to fall into the blower area. So, a new cabin filter had to be installed. This took 40 minutes because there was another car in the work bay already being serviced. The technician was polite. I did get an apology for the wait and the cabin filter mishap. I shouldn't be price gouged, especially if i have to wait 1 hour 45 minutes for an oil change AND need to make a return trip to correct a Take 5, cabin filter installation mistake. Management should have offered me at least a partial refund or some type of compensation. Now, Take 5 has lost my business forever. And I will tell all my friends in the area about this fiasco. Do not make the mistake of doing business with Take 5 like I did. They should change their name to Fake 5. read more

Decided to use Take 5 for the first time and they denied service, even though I already had the oil, oil filter, and the rings for my vehicle. Keep in mind I called this location before I arrived and they said they would be able to do it, just to arrive and get denied. To continue what happened, the oil type I have was recommended by my dealership so therefore it is nothing new. Due to the fact that my oil type and the one they had on file didn't match, they denied to proceed. Now they did show me what they had on file, and there information is based off of temperatures. Overall, I feel that all could have been avoided if they would have informed me when I called versus after I gave all my information and wasted gas. Never again!!!!!!! read more

I took it to my dealership center and found out i had ONE quart of oil even though it has not even been TWO MONTHS since coming here. It's been a few years since I've been here. I don't really remember much about them from before other than the service was just good. However, this new emphasis on customer service and presentation is remarkable. The staff is fast and efficient. Even the attempts at presenting options(or up selling) were far less invasive than most places and very well delivered by Tony. I've spent many years and sales and have been a consumer for many years and never had some in mechanic setting be able to deliver a quick pitch the way he did without giving the doom and gloom version.
