I took my car into rider auto car in September because it was making a rattling noise. I called several times for an update on my repairs and I was always getting the run around . They kept my car in the shop for 4 months and never did any repairs, so I decided to pick up my vehicle just yesterday and it's in worst conditions then what I had left it . The car shakes when I turn it on and smells like gas . The battery was completely dead and they were trying to charge me $400 for a battery. If I was not to pick up my car yesterday who knows how long they would have kept it for and how many more damages there would have been . read more

DO NOT COME HERE!!! They INTIMIDATE YOU and SCAM YOU!! I left my car here overnight to get my ECU programmed and when I called back the next day at noon they gave me vague explanations that did not make sense as to why they don't think it's the ECU. They say the mechanic is "checking" to "make sure" the ECU is not the problem. As if they are helping me. I let them know that's ok, they can do their thing and let me know when they have an update. When I made that call at noon, the caller ID read "Rider Auto Insurance" on my iPhone. I called them again at 4pm since they told me it would be done by the end of the day and I had not heard back. There was no more caller ID, it only stated "Frisco". I called 3 times and each time it went straight to voicemail, they blocked my phone number all day while they had my car. I know this because I called from a different number and they answered right away and later on after I said something it changed back???? I brush it off and explain I just want an update so I can pick my car up. Then they tell me they hadn't done any of the programming and hadn't even looked at the new ECU yet. They gave me more runaround, vagues statements of "he's making sure" and "checking" and they didn't think it was my ECU but instead my crank pulley system, something I had already confirmed was in perfectly working order. They tried to tell me it would be $800 to fix. When I declined and said I was going elsewhere(at this point I had read the other reviews of them fixing "fake problems" and collecting money for repairs that were never done), visibly upset from being blocked and practically told no when I begged them over the phone to please just do the programming, they then said I owed them $275 for "diagnostics". Nobody even mentioned the word diagnostic or any price whatsoever. I even have our last 8-9 min call recorded where they failed to mention any of this! They began arguing with me and my grandmother, trying to intimidate us into paying them for something they didn't do. He didn't even jack up the car to get a proper view of my pulley system, just stuck his hand under the hood. Their reasoning for the charge was that I was "already going to be down 375 for the ECU when it wasn't gonna work but instead it's just 275". Basically said to me dozens of times that since I was already going to spend 375 they then took it upon themselves to charge me 275 for something I didn't ask for and they didn't inform me they were charging me for. The younger guy even had the audacity to tell me something a long the lines of "if this is how you're acting over such a small amount of money" before getting into his busted ass car to go home with only duck tape holding his bumper up. After ALL THAT, I finally put my car into neutral and get it away from their shop to get towed. They were about to close up their shop with my ECU still inside. He tries to tell me maybe it's in the car while my grandmother is inside. Supposedly while I walk away, my grandmother asks where it is. This man responds to her (him and her being the only people in the building with the door closed) "I don't know, go look for it." For reference my grandmother is about 4ft11in and 60 years old. These people are horrible SCAM artists trying to take advantage of anyone unlucky enough to find their shop. DONT FALL FOR IT read more

Just worried about making money not fixing problems. I take my car in for a diagnostics because it has been overheating. They have it for a week and says it never overheated in them so they don't know the actual issue but the suggest I do a repair that was $1,300 (weird), I decline. Then when I tell them I'm coming to pick my car up which they hadn't been working on it for 3 days now per the head mechanic all of a sudden it's on the lift and they say they see a leak which they'll fix for $400.. Again I decline. Why wouldn't you have found that in the first week now that I'm here you've found it. When it's time to check out he tells me he did a coolant flush that I did not authorize and charges me $120 for it. Clearly he knew to ask me before any servicing before but again suddenly there was work to be don't and you just HAD to do it (weird). Never using them again. read more

I don't normally leave reviews unless I feel a place has done an outstanding job. These guys are great, Chuck & Andrew up front are great guys, and don't tack on unneeded items. I have an older car with its issues, they quickly found the rattling noise I was complaining of, and listed a few others that were no surprise to me. The best thing was they let me choose, and told me what was a safety issue and items that can wait. They fixed two the issues that I felt were important this morning, and it was done on time and done right the first time. I'll be doing a lot more work with them. Not only did they get fixed-up fast and right, they didn't even charge me extra for having made it worse. LOL. I have since moved farther away but this is still my shop. I have an older car that has hit that season of all the things that worked forever are starting to wear down. We go for our regular maintenance and mechanical repairs struts, tune ups, and they have always been on point with the diagnostics. This place was very friendly! I called in and asked for an appointment and I got a synthetic oil change. I went to another place before but this place was reasonably priced (about $50 for my vehicle) and the service was quick. As a girl sometimes places try to sell me on things but here it was no frills, which I really appreciate. Especially during COVID19, they got me in and out as soon as possible and I was out after an hour max and that's because there was a LOT of cars in the shop and a few people ahead of me. It's also nearby the Korean shopping plaza so hopefully once COVID is over, you're able to walk over and grab some food or get some snacks from 99 ranch. I definitely recommend this place! read more

Came here by chance while driving from Dallas to Oklahoma city and my car started flashing a red temperature light. I hobbled over (putting water in every 100 feet) and walked in at 5:10. Very responsive on Yelp and when I went in today for my oil change, the owners were very welcoming. I appreciate the fact that they are trustworthy and reliable when they quoted the oil change price on Yelp messenger and in person were reasonable. They changed my synthetic blend oil and oil filter change, topped off my fluids and checked my brakes all for $36.41. I did not get additional items up sold to me that where unnecessary to the reason that I came in. I have recommended and will continue to recommend to my friends and family to get their oil change there. Very personable staff. I would recommend staying as far away from this shop as possible. I was referred here by someone who had used the shop multiple times during the previous ownership, a father son team. They were supposed to repair my AC system, among other things and I spent well over $1000 on the "supposed" AC repairs only to find it didn't blow any colder or any more forceful when I was told it would work fine. I took it to another mechanic who I trust who informed me of the need to replace multiple AC components that should have been brand new from the work Rider had done. Either they didn't replace the parts at all or they did and they instantly failed because of improper installation. They also improperly installed and wired radiator fans that only worked 50% until corrected. I can't tell you how disappointed I am in the time and money I spent there. read more

This place is a RIP OFF! I took my car here a few weeks ago because I was having electrical issues. I was told they could not tell me what's wrong with it without doing a full diagnostic that costs $150. After doing the diagnostic, I was told I needed to replace the fuel pump and it would cost me $950. The guy said the fuel pump was the problem and replacing it was the only way to fix it. I asked for a print out of the diagnostic results, and he said he could not give it to me (FIRST RED FLAG: other places give you the print out). I told him I thought that was too much money and was going to take my car back; he then said that instead of replacing the fuel pump, they could just clean the one in my car for $425 and that would fix the problem too (SECOND RED FLAG: why didn't they offer that as an option to begin with? You know why). I decided to get a second opinion. I took my car to another mechanic, and it turns out there was a problem with the battery connection. The mechanic cleaned the terminal and reconnected the battery for $20. I have been driving my car for over 3 weeks now and have not had any issues. Needless to say, I'm never going back to this place. If you're thinking of doing business here, save yourself some money (or a lot of money) and get a second opinion. read more
