The worst service I have ever experienced. Towed the car for a battery change, they changed it and replaced other things for the battery "needed" as they said. When I picked up the car, the "check engine" light was on, the car was shaking. I took it back and they were very rude. They said that it's a separate issue and that I can bring it the next day for the mechanic to check it. I asked for the manager, who was hiding at the back, he said " we were told it's a battery issue", and this is a separate issue and bring it back tomorrow and "we will go from there". I will never be back for any service at that location. I wish I could give a negative star. read more

The service was quick, detailed, and polite! Yes, all oil change businesses try to upsell, because that's their business. I had a synthetic oil change because it required me to change the fluid less frequently hence less inconvenience and better performance. I have nothing but praise for their service. Just learn to say no when telling you something that might be true but you don't want to pay for. They honored the Senior's pricing as well which was a bonus! Highly recommend it because of the quickness of service. It would have been a nice extra if they vacuumed out the front seat floorboard. read more

This location is horrible. They charged my daughter for an engine diagnostic but did not complete the work. Instead they claim they rotated her tires. Why? She came in because the check engine light came on while driving and this location was close to our house. Big mistake. Brutal experience to get a simple oil change and tire rotation. I usually go to another location, but this one was open today so I came. After 1 hour in waiting room (they hadn't even started yet) they came to tell me they are out of Full Synthetic so they wanted to put in higher synthetic that was $25 more. Got them to honor the price but it's been an additional 40 min and they still don't have my car oil change done (much less tire rotation). Simple oil change, nearly 2 hours. I was pleasantly happy to learn that Kwik Kar has Sunday hours as my vehicle needed an oil change ASAP. The staff was friendly and their waiting area clean. Their prices are competitive and their estimate time to completion accurate. I did notice members of staff in the outdoor bays were not wearing masks nor practicing proper distancing of each other. And inside the gentleman who was closing the sale with me also was not wearing a masks yet they require everyone who enters the building to wear masks. Went in a couple of weeks ago to get an oil change done on my 2013 VW Passat. I've been taking my car here to get the oil done since it was purchased with no problems. Due to getting synthetic it has been on the pricey side, but this time they charged me $40 more than I had ever paid previously. When I asked about this difference the price of my oil change progressively got cheaper. Unsure if the guy was trying to take advantage of the situation as I am a 20-something year old female who doesn't know much about cars, but trying to charge that much extra and then decreasing it down seemed sketchy. On another note, when doing my oil change the technician noticed something wrong with a CV Axle on my vehicle. That wasn't the issue, the problem was when he proposed that I "ask my boyfriend" about it or "ask my dad". I didn't think that getting an oil change included being patronized these days. Wouldn't recommend, despite being a consistent customer for the past five years. read more

I went to the Kwik Kar on Preston road in Plano, went inside, inquired about an oil change. I was told my 2017 Pacifica required synthetic oil. The young man behind the counter said "the manufacturer requires synthetic oil". THIS IS A LIE. Chrysler does not make any such claim. Synthetic oil changes are double the cost of conventional oil. Most of the oil change places have adapted this lie. And it is just that, a lie, to make more money. I went to a Jiffy Lube and had a regular oil change and he even gave me a coupon. They were great. I hate being lied to I will never use this or Take 5 oil who would not honor my veteran I.D. issued by the V.A, voiding my 25% discount, and they too stuck to a lie about requiring synthetic. I used to like the service here. New ownership and they don't care about me. I was told after services were performed it would require extra oil and that cost me a lot more than I had ever paid at this location. When I challenged why they said new ownership and my truck takes extra oil. I had to flag them down to explain it after they walked away from me. I was furious. My wife went there after I told her the service was poor and that I had a very bad experience. She was told a long list of things that needed to be fixed and repaired. She said yes and paid a lot of money. They changed fluid and performed services that were not needed at all. I had the car checked out in December and many items I had replaced and flushed in December at a trusted service establishment were done again today. I am furious. I will not recommend and will not allow my family to return. read more

PLEASE READ THIS BEFORE YOU GO TO KWIKKARI recently left a review about 10 days ago but I had to write another one because I really do not want any one else to be taken advantage of. I did receive a response email from management claiming they would "investigate" but I seriously doubt it. Basically my car is worse than ever before and my check engine light is back on. I went in with a minor problem and now it's a major issue. The worst part is that when I went to the Carrollton location on January 16 for the same issue I was told I needed a Mass Air Flow Sensor replacement which cost $389. Fast forward to April 2 when I came in for a simple tune up and guess what I was told I needed, yup you guessed it a Mass Air Flow Sensor only this time it was $428.99. Unfortunately for me I know nothing about cars and didn't realize that I had been charged for the same thing 3 months earlier until I looked over my previous invoices. Now I'm out almost $2000 because neither location fixed the problem but they took my money and the Plano location totally screwed up my car. The moral of this story keep those invoices and check them before you let these people near your car. I'll have to take mine to the dealership because I just don't have trust or faith in anyone now and I'd be paying the same anyway, but at least I know the work will be done. Save yourself time and money don't let them scam you. The level of integrity is nonexistent! I've included pics of my invoices so you know I'm serious. I know they won't do anything about my situation so the least I can do is prevent this from happening to someone. read more

I think this place will go out of business because of them Employees, very disrespectful way to talk with the customers, i came here today to do the state inspection, when I pulled up one of the workers walked around my car to check the tires and said you should be good the car will pass ill take the car and will do it for you , the other worker after checking everything couldn't find a reason to fail it he said you have a front tinted windows, they are light but a little bit darker than state lows so I couldn't pass it and you have to pay $25 anyway,i told him i am 100% sure it is within the state lows because when i done it I asked the to do so he said i have to go back to remove it and we will pass it , i was like why you didn't tell me before you do the inspection at least (just to change me the $25) , people please don't go there because they will find whatever reason to fail your car and not pass it read more

I have a 2002 4runner. KwikKar saved me $1200!!!Heres the story: I went to a local shop in Plano that is very clean and they have very nice amenities and they said I had $1100 in repairs needed after they did a diagnostic, I was shocked, I thought maybe 300-400 possibly. I went to get a second opinion at KwikKar where I have gotten oil changes etc.. before. They did a diagnostic (I also showed then the other auto shops diagnostic). After this they told me I needed a couple hoses fastened tighter on my radiator because they were loose and it was leaking fluid which resulted in a overheating problem...that was it!! I was a little doubtful given the gross difference in diagnostics but I've been driving the car daily a week since and the car is fine. Temperature has been perfect the whole time, driving, idling, surface streets or freeway it perfect. Thanks for saving me $1200 Kwik Kar! read more

After only 5 months my brand new alternator and battery weren't working. My car was dead, so I got it jumped and took it back to this Kwik Kar. When I walked in today (8/1/2020) they informed me that they were under New Ownership / Management as of that morning. Everyone was running around and things seemed to be very chaotic. At that point I wasn't sure if they would warranty anything and I almost freaked out. However, the new owner / manager assured me that even if I couldn't find the receipt he would be able to find it in the old system. They checked the alternator and sure enough it was bad. He said that does happen sometimes even with new alternators and that they would warranty it and replace it for me. I was really surprised that they got the new one ordered and installed quickly and I was back on the road in only 3 hours. Nice people and excellent service... I'm very happy and will definitely bring my car to them again should I have any future auto service needs. read more

Kwik Kar tried the most outrageous upsell ever on my wife. She took my son's car in for an inspection (was her old car but now his first car). It's a 2007 model but low mileage. The inspection failed because the center brake light bulb had burned out. It's a $4 part that takes less than a minute to replace. She overheard one of the mechanics arguing with 2 other people, one is apparently the manager, that it only needed the bulb replaced. When they went back into the office to tell her it failed, they said it had a cracked wheel (no cracks found just a pothole dent that's been there for years) and required full motor mount replacement and gave her a quote for over $2,500. When she refused, they kept pressuring her that the work has to be done now and it took her getting angry, arguing with them, and calling me at work before they would give the car back to her. We will never take any of our cars to Kwik Kar for any services again. read more

AVOID!!! This place is AWFUL. Took in my car for an oil change. They tried to up charge me on everything. I caved when they showed me my dirty filters and overpaid to change them. When I left the ac/heater was making a strange noise. I sent my husband back to confront them bc I could not deal. They refused to help. They made time on a busy Saturday to take care of my A/C, which had blown a fuse, and they also replaced a blinker light and my front brake pads, and checked a few other elements, all in about an hour and for an amazing price! They made me feel heard and important, they were honest, and they were efficient. Mike and Brian personally took interest in my car's needs and made sure they were all addressed. Have used this location for several years; but, never again. Went today for normal oil change and tire rotation. Attendant committed stated 30 to 40 minutes. After 50 minutes, the oil change was not completed. I watched 4 other customers leave or get turned away. I left with a questionable oil change that I must have checked and confirmed elsewhere; and, no tire rotation. The attendant was left by the owners to take all the negative comments and turn away customers. Extremely poor service and management. Do not attempt to go here. read more

Absolutely amazing service! First time coming here but definitely won't be my last! I went in for an oil change and inspection. What's great about this place is that they actually do check your fluids, put air in your tires and they even vacuumed inside my car! I felt like I was getting the royal treatment! Absolutely horrible!! I've been using this place for all my three cars to stay up so to date on oil change, inspection etc for almost 2 years. Recently, I had a transmission slipping issue on one of my car. I brought it to them and the manager or supervisor there told me that it would need a rebuild and quoted me a price of $2195 for it. Just to be sure I had asked him does that include replacing shift solenoids as well and he said "Yes, everything is included". I said I will doand left my car. After almost 10 days they called me and said it's almost done but I have a bad radiator and I asked them to get it replaced. 2 days later I picked up my car and immediately noticed weird rattling noises which was not there initially. I thought the transmission was fine until I drove about 2 miles or so the check engine light came on with D light kept flashing which means faulty transmission. I brought it to autozone to check what was the actual fault code and I got P0757 which is -bad solenoid/shift solenoid stuck ON. I brought it back and they told me that they won't cover for the solenoid replacement (which they initially said that it would be included) After spending almost $2700 (transmission rebuild+radiator) I have a car that does weird rattling noises from engine area(which wasn't there before) and a check engine light with bad shift solenoids which should have been changed along with transmission. I needed an alignment after a terrible accident a few days before. This location is close to my job so I decided to leave work early to stop by. I arrived at 5pm and they looked like they had numerous cars but they were willing to fit my car in. They let me know how long it would take before anything else. Everyone was so kind and funny. They offered me drink and coffee options while I waited. I felt so comfortable. They asked me questions about my car and recent maintenance. I felt assured that they were really going above and beyond during my service! This was my first time paying for an alignment so I couldn't really tell you whether the prices were decent or not. I was here for a state inspection. Attending to the customer and getting the vehicle in was pretty quick. The guy who inspected my car took out the air filter, got it to the waiting area and asked me if I wanted to replace it and I said no. After driving for a day or so, I heard a different sound from the engine when pushing the gas pedal. I checked the hood and realized that they never bothered to hook back the cover for the air filter. If someone takes out something, they better put it back how it was.
