This is the mechanics pouring the oil

I was in need of an oil change for my Mercedes. As soon as I woke up, I started reaching out to different places until I stumbled upon Take 5 Oil Change. I called, and they gave me a $15 off coupon FOR ANY OIL CHANGE. Fabian assisted me, going over all the services they provide and checking all the fluids in my car. I ended up getting my oil changed, and my air filter replaced as well. It was a delightful first experience and affordable. I highly recommend this place if you need an oil change and are in a hurry.

Here is the write up of the 2nd mechanic who had to correct the problem caused by the mechanic at Kwik Kar at W Little York
    Jeremy B.

INCOMPETENT, OVER PRICED at $610 for basic brake repairs, and in my personal opinion, apparently UNETHICAL. I was in need of brake repairs in preparation for a vacation trip to West Virginia and Ohio. I brought my 2011 Honda Accord and the following was told to me 1) Rear Brake Rotors are cracked (I saw them and agree that this was true), 2) Brake Pads need to be replaced (also true), 3) Front Rotors are "thin" but will be OK. Replacement is "recommended" but not unsafe for my vacation travel. We had the work completed for $610 (which was discounted). Also, we had the oil replaced. They did not reset the oil indicator in our car, which still read at 30% oil life and they stuck the wrong milage sticker on the inside of my windshield. I'm quite certain that our 2011 Honda Accord did not have 200,000+ miles on it. More like 38,000. I had to drive back and ask them to reset the oil indicator and give me the appropriate sticker. They did so apologetically. My wife and I began our trip and began to notice that at higher speeds (50mph to 55mph) the rear end was making a noise and the rear end of the car was shaking. My wife and I were in a hurry and need to get to our location so we agreed to go easy on the brakes and then have them looked at by someone we know and trust at our destination. We did exactly that. The mechanic took about 5 minutes to look at the rear brakes and found that the rotors were installed incorrectly. He wrote up the job he did and said the following: "Left rear brake rotor improperly installed. Bolts were not lined up with correct bolt holes. Front rotors were clearly warped." Please note that the mechanic at Kwik Kar did not indicate that the front rotors were warped. He only indicated that they were "thin". The owner was there and heard this conversation at the time it took place. Our 2nd mechanic did repair the rear rotor by correctly installing it. He also replaced the front rotors. Again, the front rotor repair was recommended but I was also told that we would be OK on the trip if we didn't get them replaced. Obviously, that was incorrect. So, fast forward to today. I finally had time to go to the Kwik Kar on W Little York. I brought my receipts and upon a cursory examination, I was told by the manager/mechanic (who by the way did the repair in question) that the mechanic that did the 2nd repair (to correct the first) was simply wrong. He indicated that "there is no way that the rotors could be installed incorrectly." I went on to try to describe my experience and I was rudely interrupted several times with continued statements that he did not install the rotors wrong. He questioned the facts I was giving him and indicated that he did not accept my account of how the car was acting (rear end shaking, whole car shaking, etc.). So, in effect, although he did not say it directly, he was saying that I was lying about the way the car was handling following the repair. So, to recap: 1) Paid $610 to have rear rotors replaced, and all 4 brake pads replaced along with an oil change. I indicated that I was going on vacation and wanted the car to be safe. I was assured by the mechanic/manager that, although the front rotors were "thin" and should be replace next time, we would be safe for our trip. 2) Experienced brake related problems while on the highway going on vacation. 3) Had it looked at by a mechanic who almost immediately saw there was a problem with the install. 4) Had this incorrect installation fixed and front rotors replaced for 1/6 of the original cost. 5) Went back to Kwik Kar to explain the situation. 6) Was told that my account of the story was false and the write up of the second mechanic repair was false. Isn't that nice and professional of them? Oh yeah, the mechanic/manager also told me that if I wanted to "stay under warranty", that I would have needed to call Kwik Kar and have them tow my car 1500 miles back to have it looked at by them during my vacation. And the guy was rude on top of that. He told me that my request would be given to the owners and that, "I can tell you right now that they are going to reject this claim". So, yeah...horrible experience. Also, he told everyone that was in the room at the time that he wanted their phone numbers so that those in the room could be "witnesses" to our conversation presumably in the event of litigation. My intention was never to sue but to only request that they make the situation right. Based on my personal experience, I recommend that you do not use this Kwik Kar for any type of car maintenance or repair.

When you go there make sure you know what exactly you need to be done with your car. They will try to up sale everything from air filters to extra service that you do not need. I know exactly what my car need, so I didn't have an issues with it. They are really busy during my visit , the conversations are short to the point. The waiting area is clean and lots of chairs there for you to sit. Their price are not exactly the deepest in town, but not the most expensive either. My oil change was a bit long, and they do not use paper to cover your floor Matt, they also do not use plastic cover for your seat. But so far no issues with the oil change, and the price I paid was decent to the service I received.

LARGE cups for coffee. Usually places like this have the small cups.

Time for an oil change! I've been to this location before but it's been probably over a year. I like how the lobby/waiting area was very neat and organized. The second thing I like us that try had LARGE coffee cups. Who does that? I'm sorry, but having to leave the house on a Saturday morning for car maintenance can become a not so bad task when certain amenities..! The guy that did my oil change was cool and helpful. I like how they make recommendations without being pushy.

View looking into shop waiting for oil change. They are insane busy but still get it done in under 30min

We are a VETERAN family and I have been told several times that it's noted in our account. My 16 y/o was recommended the most expensive option and told he needed several additions to his service. He was quoted well over $100 for a Corolla. I called and spoke to someone and asked for the least expensive oil change and thats it. I was told that he would need his veterans ID. I told the gentleman that all of us meaning, three other cars bring our cars there and if I did not have the ID it's always been noted in the account. He said that was not sufficient and did not offer or mention the additional coupons that I found online after my son left. Fine, I understand that anyone can come in and say they are a veteran. But as I stated, I have been told several times that it's been noted in the account. Most reputable businesses will offer the coupon that they have and this also was not offered. This location just lost four cars. I am aware that in the grand scheme of things for cars means nothing to this business. But I will be informing all of the veteran communities as well as the other community organizations in the Cypress area. Happy Memorial Day.

Unfortunately, after reading other reviews, I can say many of the concerns regarding professionalism seem to be accurate. I am disappointed because this experience was completely different from a previous visit we had at another location, which was excellent. I brought my vehicle in because I heard a scraping noise. Through my own observation, I noticed my emergency brake cable appeared to be hanging and making contact with the driver's side wheel. I made it clear that I am not a mechanic and that this was simply my assumption. My husband called ahead and explained the situation. We were told they could inspect anything visible to the eye at no charge. We thanked them and drove over. Initially everything was fine. We handed over the keys and waited. The employee who inspected the vehicle acknowledged the hanging brake cable but quickly shifted the conversation to a loose wheel hub assembly. He advised it was unsafe and quoted approximately $900 to repair it. I asked how long the repair would take because I am a psychotherapist with scheduled clients and also needed to coordinate childcare and school pickup. Instead of giving a timeframe, he repeatedly answered, "By the end of the business day," and seemed irritated when I asked for clarification. I also asked whether all repairs could be completed at once because I preferred not to make multiple trips. Instead of addressing my questions, the conversation repeatedly shifted toward financing options. The biggest issue throughout the interaction was communication. I repeatedly acknowledged his concerns about the wheel hub assembly and explained that I understood the risk. However, my immediate concern was the hanging brake cable and obtaining pricing for all recommended repairs so I could plan accordingly. Each time I asked about the brake cable or requested total pricing, the conversation returned to the wheel hub assembly. Eventually, my husband stepped in and attempted to bridge the communication gap by restating our questions. He explained that we wanted pricing for the brake cable, information on the O2 sensor, and a total estimate so we could decide how to proceed. Despite multiple attempts, the employee continued repeating the same information about the wheel hub assembly. At one point, my husband became so frustrated by the lack of direct answers that he began contacting our own mechanic while the employee continued repeating the same sales pitch. Even other employees appeared to notice the awkwardness of the interaction. After several requests, we were finally told the brake cable repair would be approximately $99 and that a diagnostic fee would be required before pricing the O2 sensor. We ultimately left because the interaction felt unnecessarily frustrating. The situation worsened afterward. When we returned home, our Cadillac mechanic noticed the wheel center cap from the wheel they inspected was missing. I called the store simply to ask whether they had found it. Before I could even finish my sentence, the same employee became defensive and repeatedly insisted they had not removed anything from the vehicle. The problem was that I never accused anyone of removing it. I was only asking if they could check around the shop because it had been present before we arrived. I also asked whether surveillance footage could be reviewed. Again, the response was dismissive and irritated. I attempted to provide constructive feedback regarding the interaction. I explained that while he clearly understood the vehicle, customers often need information presented differently and that active listening is just as important as explaining repairs. Rather than listening, he repeatedly interrupted me, talked over me, and eventually stated, "Ma'am, this is not a paid consult." He continued raising his voice, interrupting, and speaking over me while I was attempting to end the conversation. What stood out most was that his tone toward my husband was noticeably different than the tone he used with me throughout the interaction. Finally, I would like to address the business's response to another review. The claim that I stated I would have friends and family leave reviews across multiple locations is completely false. I never made that statement. My husband and I were both customers and each left our own reviews based on our experiences. My cousin independently left a review after witnessing the interaction and hearing the phone call. Suggesting there was some coordinated effort or campaign against multiple locations is simply inaccurate. I have no issue with the other employees. My concerns are specific to this individual. Constructive feedback is how businesses improve, and this employee would benefit greatly from improving his active listening, communication, and customer service skills. Stay blessed.
