So the Take 5 Oil commercials showing fast oil changes while you sit in your car piqued my interest. However, the mixed reviews of various locations made me hesitate. But I took the leap mainly due to a discount maintenance voucher that I received from the dealership when I bought my used BMW 7 series. I was pleasantly surprised. The technicians were friendly and attentive. They also seem knowledgeable as every vehicle make has very different requirements when it comes to type of oil used. Also, like the commercials state, the process is quick and painless. I'm not sure if it really takes only 5 minutes, but in well under 10 minutes I had my oil changed, filter replaced, and tire pressure checked. It's not glitzy or glamorous, but the effort to provide quality service is palpable. One thing to keep in mind when choosing a Take 5 location is that not all of them service BMW vehicles - something about bimmers not having dip sticks. Thankfully, this one takes care of BMW's, Mercedes, Audi's, and other German vehicles. For routine maintenance on an out of warranty vehicle, this Take 5 location seems to provide a practical and affordable solution. Good afternoon. My wife took her car into the location mentioned below today to have the oil changed. However, after waiting she was told her oil could not be changed due to the oil plug head being rounded off so badly that it could not be removed. The sales-person then referred her to the Meineke down the street and telling her they could remove it for between $4-500. As you can see from the picture attached, the plug is in decent condition and an adjustable wrench can remove it (I know because I just did it). She's unsure of the person's name who was assisting her but after waiting there for a large amount of time, it all turned out to be a wasted effort. It's sad to say this was our first experience with Take 5 and will be our last as well. I'm also unsure of the motive of the salesperson saying the oil could not be changed and why they would turn away business. This person either needs additional training, are incompetent, or they're a liar and need to be terminated. There's also the possibility they're just lazy and are paid by the hour, whether they serve customers effectively or not. Whatever the outcome they're costing this place money. This is my second time here. I came for the top off they promise half way through and they delivered in their promise. They also checked all my fluids and tires while doing the top off. The first time here they mentioned it after the oil change so I had to test it and they weren't lying EVERYONE had excellent customer service! And I swear it only took 5 min, I will come back time and time again just for this reason. Most places don't have customer service skills at all and everyone here does. Also they have a sign that says honk if you receive good service or something along those lines so you better believe I'm honking every time! They showed me and talked to me about everything they took a look at and didn't try to charge me for or convince me to add any unnecessary services. They missed a screw or something and the under side of my car was hanging down. Came back a few days later and they fixed it, but had me wait for an hour. Needed an oil change - I've been to a different Take 5 location for a couple years, no problems. First time at Take 5 Oil Change in McKinney, I find my Jeep is leaking oil after their services. I took my Jeep back to their location and they mentioned they "fixed" it by tightening the oil filter. Few hours later, my Jeep is still leaking oil. I then took it to a dealership the following day, and found out there was a hole in my filter from Take 5 using improper tools. This was a mistake that could've been fixed on my second trip to Take 5 (or been avoided completely by properly training employees). This experience has corrupted my trust in Take 5 - I don't think I will recommend this place for oil changes again. read more

Horrible experience. All the way through the company. My boyfriend took my car in to get an oil changed as I am a disabled veteran. While getting the oil changed one of the employees used a screw driver to pop the clamps on my air filter housing. Which isnt supposed to happen. Both clamps broke. They then SCREWED MY HOUSING SHUT. Yes, with a physical metal screw. My boyfriend left his information and they had my information in the system. I never got a call ONCE about them ordering a new part or what they were going to do to fix the situation. This was on July 3, 2022. It is now August 1, 2022 and I STILL have not heard from anyone about where my part is. I went to the physical location two weeks ago and spoke to someone who said they were the manager. He said the part was ordered and it was in Oklahoma City. My car is now overheating, to which the "manager" gaslighted me telling me it was my coolant or my thermostat. I know how to work on cars. I have also taken my car to a mechanic that told me to stop driving my car because the incorrect air intake can destroy my engine and that was MOST DEFINITELY causing my engine to overheat. I now cannot make it to my VA appointments and have had to have my medications mailed to me since I can't pick them up. I have exhausted every possibly route to talk to these people and NO ONE has contacted me in any way. I have called customer service and pressed 3 several times. I have sent e mails. I even had a live chat where I was immediately disconnected when I brought up the BBB. I will be filing a report with the BBB, the FTC, and the police. I hope after reading this LAST RESORT that SOMEONE will have the balls to contact me. Maybe not. Either way, this is the last time I will use this service. Never again. I have been a loyal customer for years but you have definitely lost business. Horrible customer service and I was treated like an idiot because I was a female. Once I am COVID negative, I will be back up at the store to speak to the so called manager again. I was trying this company for the first time on Thursday, July 13th. When I pulled up, there were no cones or signs saying whether I should pull my car in or wait for someone to come out. The only sign I saw said to stay in the car. So, not knowing what to do, I slowly started pulling in. After I barely entered, an employee started screaming at the top of his lungs at me to back out. I immediately said I'm sorry and put my car in reverse. He continued to scream at me while I was backing out and then he stormed off without even speaking to me.
