They didn't actually change my oil my pan fell out and oil spilled everywhere . They apologized because they blamed a guy that used to work there . They gave me a free oil change card and I lost it . Now they won't honor me my free oil change after I paid $100 and never got an oil change to begin with . I do not recommend it at all ! read more

I've been here before for oil changes, inspections, and some other light maintenance. Service has been OK but not great. Today, while the pandemic is still in full swing, I needed an inspection and maybe brake fluid change before I sold my car. As I pulled in, 2 guys came toward my car and were getting too close even though I was gesturing and my window was rolled down. I finally yelled that's close enough and to back the f*** up. Apparently, that offended them because they told me to leave without even asking why I was there. Or it could be that I was interrupting their play time with the RC car in the parking lot. I live with a high risk individual and have to be careful. I would not have been out unless it was necessary. I will remember this and doubt that I will be back. read more

Since this location changed owners the service there has been incredibly rude and disrespectful of their customers. My wife pulled in this morning to get a state inspection and was the only customer there when opened at 8am. The attendant was very rude to my wife and yelled at her for pulling into one of the 4 open bays. I would recommend avoiding this chain whenever possible. read more

Pulled in for an oil change for my Jeep Wrangler and was greeted by a friendly person. Every bay was occupied with cars that had come in earlier. We were directed to a nice waiting area and soon after they attended to our car. Since we had just moved to this area from another state at checkout counter I was also briefed on process to do emission test prior to getting TX license plates. Saw the $5 off coupon for the state inspection so went in to do the inspection there. Confirmed with the tech multiple times to make sure I have the coupon for the discount and want to use it. But after I declined the tech's recommendation to "bleed the brakes" since they "seem dark" since I do my own brakes. The tech refused to honor the $5 coupon and insisted that he did not see the coupon and would not honor it. Nice way to gain trust for future business....will not come back again. After reading the reviews of this location, I think I dodged a bullet there and luckily I refused their recommendation for service. What a shady place. avoid at all costs. read more

Needed to get a car inspected that had not been driven in a while. I took it to Kiwk Kar Lube and it failed, but they told me since it had not been driven in a while it could be that the computer needed time to reset itself and that I should drive it for at least 40 miles and bring it back to retest for no charge. I took a run up to McKinney and back which was just the right amount of miles and it passed. The guys there were helpful and cheerful. Although I was a little concern when the cost was something like $25.50. I handed the guy two twenties and then said wait I have $.50 and tried to give it to him and he didn't know what to do. He said the cash register already told him how much change to give me back from the two twenties. He wouldn't take the fifty cents change. Sad that our education system is failing at teaching people how to give change. read more

SHADIEST CAR REPAIR SHOP I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. Brought 2004 Toyota Sienna in April 2020. Took them a FULL WEEK to figure out what was wrong with it. Poor communication during this week. We had to keep following up with them to get a status on the work. Ended up replacing fuel pump and starter. Loaded my family back into the van, got home, and upon unloading my children at home, I discovered they had uninstalled one of the car seats and put it back into place without re-installing it. We drove home with my four year old in an unsecured car seat. Thank God we did not get in an accident or she would likely have been killed. Fast forward - March 2021, we are visiting family in Tulsa. Van won't start. Have it towed to local mechanic in Tulsa to be fixed so we can get home to Dallas. Turns out the fuel pump, that Kwik Kar had replaced 11 months earlier, was bad and needed to be replaced. I call Kwik Kar and let them know that I need to activate the warranty they put on their work for the fuel pump. I speak with the owner, Sagar, and he claims they have no record of me ever being a customer. He claims he looked it up by our name and license plate and no record. SHADY. I drive back to our home in Dallas and find the receipt in our records and call back letting Sagar know I have the receipt, and what do you know, he magically now acknowledges that we were customers. He says he will honor the warranty. I bring the faulty fuel pump back to them to send back to the manufacturer for the warranty, and they tell me they will only honor the warranty for the part. They will not honor the warranty for the work because we did not bring the car back to them for the repair. We would certainly have brought back the car to them for the repair, but we were stranded 200 MILES AWAY from home. Doesn't matter to them. Tough luck. They refused to warranty the labor, in spite specifically saying on the receipt that ALL WORK IS WARRANTIED for 12 months or 12,000 miles. SHADY. SHADY. SHADY. If you get stranded outside of Dallas because of the CHEAP parts they use or the INCOMPETENT work their mechanics do, you will be left paying double for a repair that should have been done right the first time. There's lots of car repair shops to choose from. I would recommend everyone choose a different shop. read more

It was a very busy day and they were completely up front with the length of the wait, and were very friendly and accommodating about it. Clean lobby to wait in with good a/c, plus available water. Still happy! Edit: forgot to add, the big plastic skip plate under my car had fallen off, and I brought it in with me. And they put it back on no extra charge or anything despite being such a busy day and despite me not having the clips. read more

BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I've had in mechanic service in 25 years of experience of car ownership. I've been a long time customer of Kwik Kar. I've used their service in multiple cities throughout the metroplex and had been a happy customer for decades. However, after my experience here, I will *NEVER* use another Kwik Kar service anywhere in America. If you broke down in front of this place, you're better off pushing your car 1/4 mile to one of the other shops in the neighborhood. Here's the story: 3 months ago I took a 2010 dodge charger in to have the turn signal switch replaced. I bought the part and took the replacement part to them. The original was snapped at the column, and was unusable. When I arrived, the car had no alerts or warning indicators on the dash. They told me it was only supposed to take 1 hour, but it wound up taking almost 3 for the service. The price was reasonable and not outrageous, so I was ok with how how long it took. After I paid and I got in the car, a warning indicator was obviously glowing. I told them that the ESP/BAS light was NOT ON when I arrived and that it now is. They advised I drive it for a bit and it may go off. I drove it for 660 miles and it never went off. I did my own research and found that the steering alignment sensor needed re-calibrated. Apparently this is common after replacing a turn signal switch on a dodge charger and Chrysler 300. I tried doing it myself, but the ESP/BAS indicator never turned off. It came time for inspection so I took it back and explained the situation, as well as what was pretty obvious : the prior tech didn't do it right or finish the job. I explained it to 4 people. The 4th person, "John", was in a hurry and didn't listen to me and cut me off as I tried explaining. He instead advised that my wheel speed sensor had gone bad (while they had it, he said it was "coincidence"). I explained my objections and he assured me that replacing the wheel speed sensor would resolve the ESP/BAS light. After replacing the wheel speed sensors (both, since he wasn't sure which one was "bad"), the light still remained on. He said that it needed an alignment, and suggested I take it somewhere else because his machine that does alignments is not capable of doing alignments on a car a car "that new" (the vehicle is 10 years old, if you didn't catch that). I knew after he used the word "coincidence" that he was just guessing, didn't wanna put in the effort, didn't care, and wasn't going to listen to me, so I took it to a dealership to get the real story. The dealership advised that the original tech caused a short in the steering alignment sensor, broke the clock spring, and stripped the steering wheel bolt using the wrong socket. The estimate for repairing this was just under $1000. I had already paid $400 to Kwik Kar and my car was in worse shape than I brought it. They wasted my precious time and wound up costing me another $1000. I got the printout from the dealership that specifically said it was short, they used the wrong socket, and that someone was "messing with it". I explained this to the manager who checked with the owner and they denied any wrongdoing, despite the documentation that clearly says this. the manager said it couldn't have happened because the tech was supposed to have disconnected the battery. The current manager and owner did not witness the original tech's service or have any way to verify that the tech did the the service correctly, and just assumed I'm wrong and that the dealership is wrong. Whatever you do, NEVER take your vehicle to this place unless you want the service done incorrectly, your vehicle damaged, to be personally ignored, and to waste your time and money. read more

BAD service. get my syn. oil change for $80. the technician name is John. He said the service there alway included vacuum, windshields clean up, etc. when i got my car back, it still looked dirty. On top of that the check engine light still shows B service which needs oil change and replacement of oil filter. RIP OFF! Do not go here! I used to love this place. They were always efficient, I never had to wait long for anything, AND they always seemed honest. I never felt like they were trying to sell me hundreds of dollars worth of unneccessary parts that cost triple what it does at Auto Zone. All that has changed over the last two months. First. I went in for an oil change, and they made me come out into the garage, having to hold my two year old the whole time, just to try & tell me I needed this flush, and that flush for $600. Baloney. Then I came in to have my inspection done today. They told me that my wiper made streaks on the windshield, and that supposedly meant I failed the inspection. I replaced that blade only two months ago, and have barely used it at all. This place obviously has no problem making complete lies up just to get a few more $$ out of me. Shame on you KwikKar! I went to Kwik Kar to get my headlight replaced. When I arrived, the manager and technician explained to me what they would be doing during the process of installing my headlight and immediately pulled my car back. The staff were very friendly and informative being that I am a women and do not know a lot about cars. I went after work and thought I would be getting my car worked on all evening, I was wrong they finished replacing my headlight in 40 minutes and sent me on my way. Came here for a motorcycle inspection because apparently Firestone doesn't do bike inspections DESPITE being listed on the state inspection (.gov site) website. Now, it's 6:30p and almost everywhere is closed....except Kwik Kar! Called them just to make sure and headed over. No other customers were there and the gentleman came straight to my car to greet me. I have to admit, I tend to not trust oil change establishments. My first vehicle was an old Chevy Blazer, and I used to change the oil on that beast personally, so I was always aware of the prices of oil and the actually work that is involved in changing oil. With my new car, I cannot get under the vehicle without lifts, and unlike my Mexican cousins, I won't drive it up on the curb at Autozone and change it in the parking lot (true story.) Along with this knowledge, I had been screwed before by oil change places. Yes, I am THAT idiot that spent $150 on an oil change because I got up-sold for everything. $50 for a $5 cabin filter? Sure. $50 for a $20 air filter that wasn't dirty in the first place? Okay! $50 for the super (non-synthetic) oil change? Okay... Yeah... (shameful) Anyway, I decided to hit up this locale, as they're close to my place of work, and I figured that if I have to bite the bullet, at least do it at some place walking distance from my job. My experience? Very good, to be completely honest. I was greeted immediately, and I informed the kind sir that I wanted synthetic (big pimpin', spending... tens... ... ...) in my vehicle. I sat down in the little office and waited for my vehicle to be serviced. I was upsold on some headlight cleaner (I'm a sucker) but I didn't think it was too expensive as it is, and being that I had come from the desert to Dallas, they did need some legit chemical cleaning. Overall, I was in and out incredibly quick. Service was straightforward and the price-point was in-line with other places. They will probably be my goto oil people in about 6 months (I'm getting every last mile out of this synthetic stuff, damn it.) I recommend. read more

I get such a creepy vibe every time I go here. I think I stay away long enough to forget that it's a mostly unpleasant experience. I went to get a state inspection. I figured it would be quick, easy, and painless. We were greeted by face-tattoo man and sent inside to wait while they did the inspection. I watched him pop the hood open and wondered if that was required for an inspection. I get paranoid really fast when someone has my car and I can't see what they're doing. Face-tattoo comes in and asks me how long I've owned my car. About a year. I hate when they do this. He proceeds to tell me with much concern that there is a piece of plastic covering up something behind the air filter and that they could remove that for me. Okay, honestly, no freaking clue what you're talking about. But, what does that have to do with a state inspection? I politely told him we'd have someone take a look and not to do anything. He abruptly left and came back a few minutes later and said "I'll get you cashed out." He ran my credit card and I wasn't sure if I needed to sign something or not so I said, "do I need to sign?" And he said "yes, ma'am, I'm getting that ready for you if you'll wait just a moment" like I was the most annoying customer he's ever had! Whatever dude, it was an innocent question. I wasn't trying to be rude or rush him but he acted like I was. After I sign, he silently hands me my receipt and says absolutely nothing. I figure they probably don't make money off of state inspections and once they realize I'm not falling for their ridiculous up-sell attempt that I'm useless to them. You could at least say "Thank you, have a nice day" even if you don't mean it! I have decided that for state inspections, I will go somewhere that only does state inspections. And for anything else, I will go anywhere but Kwik Kar! read more

Took my truck in for oil change and state inspection. They also replaced broken motor mounts and my sway bars were in need of repair as well. Ended up spending most of the day there, but the work needed to be done. When I left in my truck, it did not feel quite right. It shifted hard and the idle was rough, and the check engine light came on. They checked it out and could not diagnose the problem right away. I left the truck with them, the next morning they had my truck running good as new. I was very pleased with the service, and have found a new mechanic shop. Thanks Danny and the rest of the crew. Idk if they are under new management or what but they have gotten very geeedy and have become unhonest....took 2 hours to perform an oil change and replace two tires and when I get my receipt they had charged me over an additional $60 in random fees and add i was not told about so I paid $200 for an oil change and two small tires!!! I came here for a simple oil change. I watched the tech leave a bolt out of my car and not put it back in. No big deal. Sometimes mistakes happen. I alerted someone and they told the tech. I kept an eye on my car and he never put it back. When they said it was finished, I told them that he never put it back. The tech working on my car looked me in the eye and said he did. Another guy went down to check. He said that all the bolts were there. I swore I didn't take my eyes off of my car but what could I do? Then about five minutes later, I watched the second guy who checked it put a bolt back on my car and tighten a few others. When I said something to him, he got somewhat confrontational and took me down to see that they were all on. I asked him to calm down and thanked him for putting it back but told him I was upset that the first guy lied to me and asked why he lied about all the bolts being there if they weren't. He settled down and told me verbatim "I have to work with these scumbags." He told me that he could get the manager/owner. I explained to the owner what had happened. The owner apologized and told me this was the third mistake the first guy made today and assured me that he would be fired. First of all, if you have a tech making multiple mistakes, shouldn't someone be supervising him or retraining him so that it isn't repeated. Second, you are making me feel like I am the reason that this guy is losing his job. Then when they told me the price, it seemed high. It was actually $10 higher than the Kwik Kar I took it to last time. The owner did not offer to price match it or give any discount for the poor service, not that I was looking for a discount. I just wanted to get the service I paid for. Though, it would have shown that he actually felt bad about the situation and attempted to make a bad experience better. The owner did not even check to make sure everything was done correctly on my vehicle. He just asked the techs if it was done. I went online and looked up what the Kwik Kar Full Service, which is what I got, entailed. It should have been a 20 point inspection. They never checked my air filter or windshield wipers. I know that they need to be replaced because they showed me them at my last oil change and I was going to replace them this time. I had to ask for my tires to be inflated. And they didn't even attempt to vacuum my front interior. All of the aforementioned services among others are supposed to be included in the 20 point inspection according to the website.
