After paying him he goes for test drive and gives an an estimate for $4000 for alot of other things that need to be done. Now he says oh After test drive u have a broken front control arm and very dangerous to drive est $966 So because we always had gone there we said OK made the appt for a week later because we hardly use the car. So go to himladt thurs. Pay him the $966 now he goes to test drive comes back and says u need a EV axle joint in front He said u should leave car here its really dangerous to drive price quote $600 plus Car was shaking like crazy which in the week leading up to the visit there was no problem. My husband says u must of did something when u put the control arm in. So we took car home tried calling around to see if someone could fix it. Because what ever they did car was shaking like it was going to fall apart. Lucky we found another shop in Calabash that agreed to help us and fix it. We contacted the garage that did the damage to get some kind of compensation to fix what they did wrong and owner say "well there was wear and tear on the axel" we said no wear and tear doesn't mean broke. So they offered to split the charge to fix it after we already paid almost $1000 for the control arms. And now this is broke we said no way all they want is money. Will never go back there again cannot trust that garage. So sad they took advantage of us.

So, I drove over to Mavis in Ocean Isle and was immediatly greeted by Corey. After checking the car, Corey came out and said, come look at this. Uh oh. Two of my tires were almost split. Imagine me on the side of the road with a blowout or worse! So, my 2 tires were replaced and I felt safer! I could tell a difference in the tires as the car drove smoother. The real winner was Corey. All i needed was 2 tires that I bought from them put on the rim. they scheduled me the first time at 4, in which I showed up and they said everyone was on their break. told me to come back at 5. They also told me the tire I wanted was out of stock. Get back at 5 and all the sudden another employee found plenty of the tires I wanted and they commenced to put them on. Took them until 6:45 (1.5 hrs) with nobody else waiting to install 2 tires. Get home and realize that they put one tire on with the white letters out and one with the black facing out. . I specifically asked the guy to put black lettering out because the front two existing tires had the black out. I also found that they put the used tires in the back of my truck and I specifically asked for them to be recycled. Take it back up there the next day and waited 2 hours, although they said it would be 30 minutes. Checked on them multiple times and they kept "bs'ing" me and said they were working on it. I watched multiple "mechanics" eating snacks and walking back and forth to their vehicles and smoking during this time. Don't waste your time at the shallotte Walmart. Go to best bet auto in shallotte, or coastal tire or Jim's car care on 17. this isn't the first bad experience or the first I have heard about here but it's definitely my last.

The most disorganized auto center I've experienced. I had pre-ordered 4 tires and set an…read moreappointment. When I arrived there were 3 customers and 3 associates. Each transaction was riddled with associate errors. a manager was called for. He was no help. One customer said he had already paid. The manager asked the associate if she charged him before the work was done. She had partially charged him. They had to work out what was paid for and what wasn't.. Another guy had a tire installed on a rim a few days before, it fell off the rim. The associate then asked if she could help me. She said to follow her to the other register. When she arrived there she proceeded to help tow new customers before me. When she finally started helping me she entered the wrong part number so the price came up way higher. They said it would take one hour. I returned after 50 minutes buying groceries (including meat and milk). I see my car lifted with all 4 of my used tires still on. I watched the guy remove all four, dismount, mount, balance and install. This took 40 more minutes. Checking out was more chaos. The lady told me it would be just a few minutes. The guy drops the key just as she leaves to check out 3 new customers that were buying items. This whole ordeal took 2 hours! I failed to see them help anyone with service issues without making errors.

Been here twice, once for state inspection for our pick up truck and once to have an issue checked that we thought we were having with our SUV. Excellent experience both times (just when I went with the SUV, it was a very, very long wait, but then I found out they were short handed as someone called in sick). They confirmed the issue with our SUV which was just a pebble stuck in a tire). They did not even charge for looking at SUV. The people that work there are all very nice. I recommend this auto repair shop
