They are a LOT more reasonable price-wise on oil changes and the associated service items, as compared to car dealerships, by around a factor of 3x, which is remarkable. I'd say they are pretty comparable price-wise to the other places that specialize in basic service items such as oil changes, but they come in at around 1/3 the price of dealerships - which is unbelievable but true. It's a very clean and pleasant facility. They give you several choices of the grade of oil you want to buy, and explain them clearly - although the price signage could be a little more clear. The staff is knowledgeable, very professional, and friendly. Overall, excellent.

We brought it back and within five…read moreminutes we were told everything had been checked, everything was fine, and the car was safe to drive. Unfortunately, because the car wasn't parked in one place for very long, we had no idea it was still leaking. It wasn't until the car sat in our driveway for three days that we discovered it was continuing to leak oil. By then, she had already driven the vehicle all the way from Connecticut to North Carolina with the leak. Brand-new driveway covered with a big oil stains. We took the car to our local Take 5 in North Carolina, where they found the problem almost immediately: the Connecticut location had failed to install the gasket on the drain plug during the oil change. Mistakes happen, but what is unacceptable is that we recognized there was a problem, brought the car back, and were reassured that everything was fine after only a few minutes. That reassurance led to a 600+ mile drive with an active oil leak. This could have caused catastrophic engine damage, and instead it left us with a damaged brand-new driveway. This wasn't just an honest mistake it was a failure to properly diagnose and correct a problem that they created after we specifically returned because the car was leaking oil. Extremely disappointing service and a preventable situation that never should have happened.

Consumer Beware - Serious Negligence and No Accountability…read more I normally don't leave reviews, but what happened to me at this Valvoline location needs to be shared as a public service announcement. I brought my new vehicle here for one of its first oil changes. Less than two weeks later, while driving with my two children in the backseat, my dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree--my power steering failed, my radio shut off, my headlights went out, and my entire car slowly died in the middle of traffic. It was terrifying. The next day I replaced my battery, but the car still didn't feel right. After having it checked at Advance Auto, I was told my alternator was no longer functioning, which likely caused the battery to die. I had my car towed to the dealership because this type of failure is highly unusual for a new vehicle. The dealership's inspection revealed oil all over my serpentine belt and alternator, which caused the alternator to fail. Thankfully, my extended warranty covered most of the repairs, but the dealership specifically advised me to contact Valvoline because the damage was due to negligence during the oil change. Valvoline sent a representative to inspect the car before repairs were completed. They told both me and the dealership they would call back. They never did. When I followed up myself, customer care and an employee named Cal told me they "didn't understand how this could have happened" and denied my claim. When I asked to file a claim with their insurance, I was told this franchise "does not carry regular insurance" and that the manager alone decides which claims are accepted. I was told it might be escalated to an area manager, but even then, no callback could be guaranteed. So now I'm out nearly $600--the cost of the oil change, a new battery, and my $212 warranty deductible. If I didn't have an extended warranty, I would have been out even more. And worst of all, my kids and I were put in real danger when the car failed in traffic. There is absolutely no way oil suddenly appeared all over my serpentine belt and alternator on its own less than two weeks after an oil change. Yet Valvoline has put up every barrier possible to avoid taking accountability. I'm sharing this so other consumers know what they're dealing with. Be extremely cautious about trusting this location with your vehicle. Their negligence caused major damage, and their refusal to take responsibility is unacceptable.

Regional Manager Dominic Torlish is incompetent Valvoline…read moreneeds to fire Dominic Torlish. I see someone else complained about him, and about exactly the same thing. Wow I came here to give a review for my bad experience and come to find so many others were dealing with exactly the same problem as me. These people have zero experience. This is a beginners mechanic stop they barely know the basics. They caused a leak in my car whold not following instructions and mishandling my oil pan plug and no one wanted to take responsi . It's like they deal with it in a local level and actually refused to my face when I requested to speak to someone higher up in the Valvoline chain they just completely blatantly deny you and immediately close your case without even hearing you out. The regional manager, Dominic Torlish did not even allow me to plead my case to him I never spoke with the man he only heard the local managers side of the story who is responsible for causing the leak. This is very much conflict of interest because if it's dealt with at a local level and you cannot plead your case to anyone higher up in the Valvoline chain why would local managers admit they are at fault if they never have to answer to anyone higher up. Do yourself a favor go to a real mechanic these people are snakes. Fire Dominic Torlish!

We were referred by friends who said ACE would take good care and resolve the issues with the truck. ACE owner (?) responded to say he was away on Saturday but could look at my truck Monday. We drove out to the shop that weekend to be sure we knew where it was. A small shop but plenty bays and a few cars on the lot. Looks like they may be a reseller for motorcycles or sell used cars/motorcycles also? The problem reported was that my truck would stutter between 40-50mph, then 60-70mph only on an incline. As much as this was a pain in the neck issue with driving al the backroads at those lower speeds, I felt that waiting a couple more days was ok. On Monday AM, I called ACE and asked what time to come in to have the truck looked at. Making a long story short, the owner said he could not take time to look at my truck as he was already busy. I asked then why he said he could help. He just repeated to say he could not take time to help. All he needed to do was take a road test of the truck and see if it was a simple issue, that's all we asked him to do. He continued to say no and if we were his regular customer, he would help. It's unfortunate that ACE could not at least assess what could be. Or, if he could not assist and knew it Saturday, then just say that Saturday. I wasted time waiting and could have gone elsewhere. If ACE had looked at the truck, he would have found out that the number 6 coil needed replacing. Could have made some money and kept a positive review with the business.
