The last Kouign Amann had just escaped my clutches to the guy in front of me, darn it. But there were still trays upon trays of freshly baked, massive chocolate croissants displayed in their custom, wood display case right next to the register. Sorry about no pictures, but you know how things get out of hand sometimes. However if you want to experience an orgasm in pastry form, I suggest you high tail it here.

I liked it but my wife thought the extra chocolate was too much of the good thing. She reminded me that in the pain au chocolat in France, you actually feel the chocolate under the tooth at each bite. Between the two, I would get the plain croissant next time. Final thoughts: These pastries are more expensive than in other places( pain au chocolat for almost $7 and croissant for $5.5). Would I come back: yes to get the plain croissant.

We ordered via the kiosk and got the mango sunshine souffle pancake ($16.50) and well as a couple drinks. My drink was the white peach lemon jasmine bliss ($6.25), with 50% sweetness and less ice. Even though there are signs everywhere saying that it takes 15-20 minutes for the souffle pancakes to be cooked, ours came out super quickly, in 5 minutes or so. We got it with the sauce on the side, but I regret doing that as I saw others getting it with the sauce on top and it was beautiful. The pancake was super fluffy and a bit eggy as well. We all really enjoyed it with the mango sauce. I made the mistake of eating the pancake first before trying a sip of my tea. The pancake was pretty sweet, so I could barely taste my drink, but I think it was good? I could taste a bit of the lemon but definitely not the white peach, which is a lighter flavor. I got a slice of their Hokkaido cheese cake roll for $7 to go and had it the next day. It was okay but definitely a bit pricy for what you get. I'd love to come back to try their other desserts and pancakes!

I couldn't see myself studying or staying too long, which may be for the best since parking is tricky and street parking has a 2 hour limit. An okay experience, but I don't see myself coming back.

The honey and spice combo was so good and the crust was perfectly crispy. The Rabbit Bolognese was also incredible, and tasted fresh and light instead of heavy like some bolognese can be. Our waiter gave us the pistachio tiramisu on the house for my mom's birthday, which was such a sweet gesture, and it was delicious! I am very pleased with this Bakery. Its small, but packs a big punch! I had a bridal shower for my future daughter-in-law, and found this bakery at the last minute. I didn't make an appointment. Just walked in, and upon tasting 4 slices of cake, picked the flavor I like and ordered the cake. I chose the white cake, with Strawberry preserves and cream cheese! Yum! The cake was light, and the filling was yummy. I basically ordered a mini wedding cake, and it came out beautiful! And, very very reasonable! Everyone at the shower loved the cake, and asked where I got it from. I actually ordered more than I needed, and gave the bottom tier to the bride to be. She and my son, are on a strict diet for the wedding, so she took it to work. Needless to say, the people at her work, demolished it. Not a crumb left. I could not be happier with my experience with Takes The Cake and Lynn! We had a dinosaur themed cake made for my son's 2nd birthday. Sadly my son caught a terrible virus a couple days before the party and we were forced to postpone by a week. Lynn was understanding and gave us no hassle about the last minute change, which was so kind of her. The cake we got a week later was perfection! I gave some ideas of what I wanted and she executed it perfectly. Not only was the cake awesome, but it was so yummy! Takes The Cake recently did my husband's groom's cake and it turned out great. Very whimsical. It had an outdoor theme and were able to incorporate the funny cake topper I got at Michael's without a problem. The cake was white with a raspberry filling and was quite tasty. Fresh. I still go to them when I need a specialty cake for a birthday or other special occasion. They can be on the pricey side, but I don't mind that for a special event. read more

The color was exactly what I wanted and we were obsessed w the rustic design. I loved that it wasn't overly sweet and was very light. So the cake will have rainbow frosting design" The photos below are the cake that I picked up the next day (the toppers I added myself). This cake is an absolute disaster. Someone ran to Ralph's and grabbed gel pens and added this sloppy rainbow before my husband picked up the order to cover their mistake. I texted the number that I corresponded with photos of the cake and how disappointed I was, and never heard back with an apology or a refund. Save yourself a headache and go elsewhere. Also for reference this was $45 for a 4" vegan cake. I don't even feel confident it was vegan given the poor design job.

Yes, the cupcakes are as consistently yummy and moist as they are prettily decorated. Yes, the interior of the shop is clean, bright, and bursting with color. Yes, there are drinks, and savory food, and other tempting things in and behind the bakery cases. What I witnessed this morning between the shop workers and the customers gave me something to meditate on. I overheard the people in the shop talking to each other about what ultimately resulted in an act of kindness for another customer. What transpired happened over the course of a couple of minutes, but it was done so simply and quietly as to not draw much fanfare. It seems like these small acts of generosity happen regularly, and it's simply reassuring to see the goodness in people that we may not have normally noticed.
