On the search for a great taco spot in the area but this place isn't it. Tacos were decent, burrito sucked. Won't be returning

I came here because the food looked appetizing in the pictures but boy, was I wrong. When ordering the flautas I asked the man working the register if everything that goes on top would be going on the side since I was ordering to go and I didn't want my flautas to be soggy. He clearly stated yes, it would be. I also ordered the tacos doraditos de birria. When I got home I was so livid because the toppings for the flautas were clearly not on the side and my flautas were completely soggy when I got home. My tacos "doraditos" were also completely SOGGY. I only live 6 minutes away so there is no way my tacos got soggy within 6 minutes. Overall, I would NOT come back here due to the service and quality of the food. Saturday cheat meal episode #17 Takos! Oh! My! Goodness! This place satisfied my craving. I was in the mood for a meaty burrito and something new on the side. I only eat once on Saturday's (hence the cheat meal) so I splurge and try new foods. I looked at previous photos and decided to get the wet burrito and a taco fundido. I ordered an asada and chicken mixed wet burrito (for extra $) with green sauce. I was not disappointed! It was huge! Flavor was on point and the fillings (beans and rice) tasted authentic. The taco fundido was a first for me and I'm so glad I gave it a try. Fundido is a type of cheese over your choice of meat (I got chicken) and sautéed veggies with avocado and salsa. Next time I'll get like 3 of these! The place is small and low key but don't let that stop you. Well kept and the gentleman that took my order was a pleasure to deal with. Very polite and helpful. Local taco spot with flavor and authentic taste. Prices are great and I'm definitely coming back. Only downside and why I didn't give 5 starts is because the asada was at times chewy, rubbery, and not a good cut. Try it for yourself! Wife saw an Instagram influencer do a review on this place so we went to go check it out. 30 minute wait for the food, so it better be good. Was it?? No... Don't get me wrong it wasn't terrible, just lacked flavor overall. Keto taco was prolly the best, even though the carne asada again was lacking. Salsas we're tasty, the orange one at least. Green one was meh. Fundido was a good idea but not great. Lastly (and the reason we went) the flautas ahogadas. Ok, not great. Consome needs some adjusting. I was expecting the same console flavor as a torta ahogada, not quite the same though. Would I try it again? Maybe if I was in the area. perhaps to try something different. I never leave reviews but this is worthy. I asked for extra cheese twice and the man behind the counter both times assured me that it was in the bag but I never saw him open the bag. I even offered to pay extra. He lied to my face twice. I get home and obviously no cheese. This might be petty but its the principal and that the employee lied. I called the restaurant and they disregarded my complaint. Please check your bags when you leave. I would rate a negative star for lying and poor customer service. This place is amazing and delicious. I'm lowkey mad that I didn't find it sooner because I live up the street and eat Mexican takeout once a week. I was getting my nails done after work at a business a few doors down. My daughter was hungry so we were looking at Doordash options while getting our pedicures and Takos popped up. We viewed the menu and decided on splitting the surf n turf fries with a side of chips and guacamole. I also got a horchata to wash it all down. Pricing was reasonable for all the food we got and the portions were huge. So glad we ended up sharing. The shrimp was cooked well and tasted fresh. The carne asada was flavorful and delicious. Incredible first impression. It's simple yet comforting and homey. The restaurant is a humbling place, it isn't over the top or flashy. It's straightforward and gives it to you how it is. To play it safe it was my first time, so I got 4 tacos asada with extra onions and cilantro. To my surprise they are one of the most flavorful and filling tacos I've had in a while. The tortillas are cooked nicely, it doesn't fall apart and holds in all the meat and toppings. It doesn't dry out and stays firm. The asada was cooked really well, the juiciness was there and they were generous with how much they gave us. I wanted to get more however I knew I was full, it was just the type of of comfort food that made you want to keep eating. The vibe of it, honestly is on a different of humble. This is a place that makes you feel better, and makes you feel safe whenever you need security in your life. It's a place you'd go to after losing a soccer game, going through a heavy break up, or if your dog died. You just feel good being here and it's a little bittersweet too. There was only one guy working too when we came in, but his coworker also entered so it seems like a small business with very little workers around. My only complaint was that there wasn't anyone to clean off the tables and they were a bit gritty but it didn't ruin the experience much. The real issue was seating, there was a table in the corner with something stacked on top. Otherwise I really enjoyed coming here and I would want to come back whenever I can. read more

TaKos is a new spot in Bellflower that opened up not too long ago. It's walking distance for me, so I have visited a few times to grab some Taco Tuesday's and their popular Cheese Tako (melted cheese used as a tortilla- keto friendly). It's a very small spot, so seating is limited. The flavor is great and the portions are very fair for the prices. Being located between two other Mexican restaurants (Taqueria El Sabrosito- which is my favorite to go and El Torazo- not impressed at all and don't see it lasting long), it's got some competition and could be labeled as just another taco spot. However, I think TaKos is different and offers options other spots don't have. I recommended giving it a try and grabbing the cheese tacos and maybe split some super fries with your favorite meat. Only thing- I HIGHLY recommend calling in your order. Whether you are eating there or taking out, they are very slow in ordering and making food. The quality food is great, but they have usually no more than 2 workers taking orders and cooking, which takes times as everything is made fresh. read more

Bellflower has a slew of local businesses that offer great service and food and this is definitely one of them! I ordered a Torta Cubana which was absolutely perfect, it had the right amount of everything and also a taco fundido with al pastor. The latter contained a lot of delicious added ingredients such as avocado, melted cheese and chile poblano, making it just as delicious! They've got a little sauce bar in the place where you can put salsas into a small cup (the red one is spiciest) and they also have these purple onions that are so good! This place also has a lot of interesting things on the menu and will definitely keep me coming back. read more

To say this is my new favorite taco spot is an understatement. I've been twice in one week after seeing my friends post. I make sure to get something new everytime and still get one of my favorite orders, the Flautas Ahogadas. The staff was so kind and were patient with my many questions of names and differences with items on the menu. It's a small location next to a park so if you don't want to drive all the way home, grab a table at the little park next door. I have ordered quite a few things since my first visit and I can't choose more than one favorite, everything is delicious and I can't wait to conquer the next item on the menu read more

On Tuesday we showed up at 10:45 waited till 11:10 to go the guy didn't open till 11:20, I tried to order food and he told me that the birria was not ready didn't know how long it would take for it to be ready, I left because I wanted to try the birria, today we went back because of the hype, I regret it, the guy taking the orders is really nice but he is lost, he forgets things, I ordered two flautas ogadas (not worth the hype by the way) the trio combo a fish taco and a extra consome and two aguas, 78 dollars worth, I took the food to go, I got to the car and noticed that I was missing the extras consome, went back to let him know and the guy in the kitchen said that he put in in the bag I told him I was missing the extras consome one, he said that no he had put in the bag the consome at that point I gave the guy taking the order my receipt so he can show him I had ordered a extra one that yes there was one in the bag but it's the one that comes with the trio combo, the guy shook his head saying no, the cashier told him something that I didn't hear and he told me to wait that he would get it for me, I waited like 5 minutes for something that should take 1 or two minutes, but ok, he ended up giving the consome to the cashier he then put it in a bag the cup was all dirty in the outside from the consome and it was leaking, at that point I just threw it in the trash, we were going to eat in the car and it would just make a mess. I just want to say this right now, all of their food looks absolutely amazing! I had a few things in mind that I wanted to get before coming here but I ended up getting the super nachos. The nachos were pretty good overall. The only thing I have to say is that I wish they were hotter in temperature (not in spice). Like I wish that they were so hot I would've needed to blow on them to make them cool but that's not that big of a deal. The customer service is pretty good too. I should probably mention that this place has very little seating, with only two tables in the inside and two tables on the outside so you might not want to come in a huge group. As of right now, I'm rating this place not a 4, but a 4.5 although it doesn't give me the option to rate the half star. Papa Loca is so good. I've been here a few times and it never disappoints! The team here is so friendly and welcoming. Small dining area, but they keep it neat and tidy. Not one thing here we didn't like. We tried the Milanesa torta and the flautas ahogadas (which I had seen on Instagram). The combination of all the toppings in that flauta bite was perfect! The salsas were also great, the red was hotter than the green but they both had flavor and spice. My recommendation would be the flautas, I will definitely be returning for flautas. I had to come try their flutes ahogadas after coming across an instagram reel featuring their food. I thought I could pick my choice of protein but when I ordered, I quickly realized its exclusively a ground beef and potato mixture only. On this day for me, the flautas were not going to be enough so I also ordered a sope with chorizo. Both items were excellent! I have been back twice already even though its about a 30 minute drive for me. The only bummer is they really do only have 2 tables to eat inside and 2 smaller tables outside, you will have to be vigilant when one becomes available. read more

Got disappointed from Takos for 2 weeks in a row. This is the 2nd time I came for my cheat day meal and was incredibly displeased with my order. Last week I ordered a Tijuana torta d asada and sad to say the asada has no flavor. Left the torta unfinished. Today I ordered a burrito d cabeza through Uber eats. Picked up the order and took a bite in the car and instead of it being a burrito d cabeza it was the flavorless carne asada. We were still in the parking lot so I went back inside and turned in the burrito to the cashier letting him know my order was wrong. He asked the cook why it was made wrong and his answer was that there was no cabeza. In my experience working in a restaurant where Uber eats is offered, we would call the customer ahead and notify them when they ordered something that unfortunately we did not have in store, and if they'd like a different option. However, we didn't receive that gesture here. But, They did offer to remake it with a different meat, and I chose the Al pastor. Disappointed, again. It is so dry and flavorless as well :( I don't think there was any beans in the burrito. And it was poorly wrapped, the burrito was opening up in my hands Which was more frustrating bc I was going to eat in the car but either way it wasn't good enough to dig into. Love this little hole in the wall place! I specifically like it because they have unique items in their menu that make them stand out from other taco places in the area. They're located in a little plaza across from Starbucks! I tried their mulitas, keto tacos and shrimp bacon ranch fries! I've never tried mulitas before and I ended up loving it - it's very similar to quesadillas. The Keto tacos were good to try too. I'm just not a huge fan of the oily ness, which I understand comes from the cheese. Their shrimp bacon ranch fries is an absolute must try! The sauce isn't too overpowering plus the shrimp & bacon pair well with each other. Definitely recommend and can't wait to go back! read more

We ordered food to go while visiting family in California. The venue is small, so don't bring a big crowd. But service over the phone was pleasant, the man who took my order was very patient. Now for the food. EVERYTHING we ordered was delicious! I ordered a carne asada fundido which I'd give 7/10. I didn't care for anything spicy but if I was, this offered a nice smoky bite. We ordered 2 quesadillas which we came to realize were pretty big. Our 3 littles of the party could've easily shared one order. The highlights of the night were the flautas and the cabeza mulita. Omg just thinking about the mulita has me drooling. I'd crave both of these. I'm glad to not live nearby because I'd frequent it way too much I only docked a star because they forgot an item in our order causing us to circle back. The chicken flautas were good but the avocado turned brown by the time I got home, but not their fault... perhaps putting it separate would have helped. The asada tacos were so delicious, my 5 year-old ate two. My husband ordered the steak burrito, also really good. He also liked the asada tacos.
