Food was very good, but the service completely ruined the experience. When we walked in, the cashier didn't greet us, didn't say "hi,". He just stood there and stared at us when he was finally ready to take our order. It felt awkward and like we were annoying him just by being there. Also, the dining area was not clean. Almost every table was dirty and had old food and crumbs on it, and no one was going around cleaning or wiping anything down. It gave the place a bad first impression, especially when we're about to sit and eat. The food itself was actually really good. It's just sad that the customer service and cleanliness do not match the quality of the food. If the owners invested a little more attention into training their staff on basic customer service and keeping the restaurant clean, this could easily be a great spot. TL;DR: 3/5 - Inconsistent food quality led to a decline in satisfaction with this spot. Friendly staff, but the seating is very limited inside and the outside is unappealing. Recommended only for those living nearby who aren't shy about sending food back as good days offer delicious food, but bad days result in nearly inedible meals. Yearning for more? 1/2 This spot was once a favorite of ours, but it quickly fell out of favor due to inconsistency with the meat quality specifically. While some visits featured tender and delicious meat, others offered chewy and gross cuts. Three out of the four times I last visited were bad, so I just stopped coming by. Used to be our go to spot, we've been here at least 15 times. Expenses: 0/1 The prices are on the higher side, which given the inconsistent nature of this location, makes it so that the food is not worth it to me on over half of the visits. The flautas with consome lived up to the hype. They are pretty big and you will have left over consome you can drink. It wasn't too busy the day I went but seating inside and outside is very limited. This still wouldn't stop me from going back. My wife had fish tacos that were also very good. Can't wait to go back and try the Tijuana torta. read more

Takos has become our go to place during my son's soccer practice. I have gone 4 times now and it still makes me want more. I love their meats. My son loves their birria tacos. My husband loves their Al pastor fries. I love their flautas! The service is great! I know they struggle to speak To me sometimes but so far I have not had any issues with my order! It's always right! And I order through the phone! Other places have messed up my Order from apps! This place, always done right! Much appreciated! It's a small place tho with two tables outside. A 2.5 might be more accurate. I ordered the Mar y Tierra burrito. I really wanted to like this burrito; the flavors were definitely interesting and not your average burrito experience. There were some moments where the seasoning had potential, and certain bites were more enjoyable than just your standard burrito. That said, the overall experience left me underwhelmed. I ordered through DoorDash, and unfortunately, the burrito came out very greasy. It made it hard to really taste the pico de gallo or enjoy any of the individual components. Everything kind of blended together in a way that didn't quite work for me. I think this might be a place that's better enjoyed fresh and in person, but based on this delivery experience, I don't think I'll be ordering again. They're stuffed with potatoes and shredded beef topped with cabbage, cheese, salsa and sour cream. The taquitos de papás are basic, great taste! The Ramen birria....a little disappointed! They topped it with traditional toppings and added monterrey jack cheese. The flavor in the Ramen was thrown off withthe cheese, although I scooped out as much as I could. So if you order it, ask no cheese. The birria flavor was ehh (I've had better) but it wasn't horrible (I've had worse). The service was effective, only one man on the counter so if you sit at a table you will have to be patient and pretty much don't expect to be checked in on. The place in itself is small, but VERY popular! There are 3 tables to sit inside, one outside and that's it. I am beyond disgusted. I found a huge hair in my food in my mouth and had to pull it out while eating. It completely ruined the entire meal and honestly made me feel sick. Just like a lot of other newbies, my partner and I were drawn in by the hype of the viral "Grub with Greg" flauta video. We came in at 7pm on a Saturday, and it was BUSY! Rightfully so, that video made the food look so bomb lol so there we were. Waiting.. We were just a few mins into waiting when we overhead a lady say she had been waiting an hour and hadn't gotten her food yet. Again, makes sense. So we took a little stroll and came back 45 minutes later. We waited another 20 more minutes before getting our order and in that time they ran out of flautas for any new orders coming in. We got lucky we got there on time lol finally we got our flautas! Poor cashier guy was so nice and was feeling bad about the wait and turning away new comers when they ran out that he was giving us many apologies and threw in a couple of Coke zeros for free with out order. He didn't have to but we appreciated his hospitality and care. The flautas were a solid 8/10. They are HUGE like legit if you're complaining about the price to quantity of food ratio, then you're a straight up fat ass. Because these things are massive! And 100% worth the price, they're made to order so when you get them they're nice and Hot! Super crunchy and perfectly chewy, the potatoes inside are a perfect fluffiness and the meat is tender and just a little dry, but the consume and the queso and guacamole and all that definitely makes up for it. My only complaint is that their consume tastes a little off, it tasted almost like a beef stew with tapatío hot sauce and I was expecting a more authentic consume flavor. It's hard to explain but if you know, you'll know what I mean when you try it! Overall it's good! If you don't want to wait long, I'd probably recommend coming during the week vs weekend and just be patient! Warning! The sign on the outside just says "Takos" so you might get confused if you are in the right place or not. This place rocks! If you like "hole in the wall"s this place is for you, the outside does not sell this place too well. But the food is amazing! I got the gringa and a mulita and both were so satisfying. I think the guacamole really makes them. My buddies got the fish and shrimp tacos and sang their praises. I only wish I had a large enough stomach to try the California Burrito. Next time!
