All I can say is WOW! Do not sleep on this wonderful addition to A-ville! I was excited to taste every single dish - and each one exceeded my expectations. Everything was fresh, presented well and with well balanced flavors. Not Pictured: - Figs on whipped honey ricotta - This is the most delicious appetizer I've ever had. The figs were fresh which are hard to find. The honey ricotta was just sweet enough. This is a must try! - Halloumi cheese - the fresh blueberry jam balanced out the salty cheese. Pictured: - Seabass - cooked perfectly and very fresh fish. The portobello risotto complemented the fish well. - Salmon - the fish with the fruit and avocado mash was a match made in heaven. Just the right amount of spice! Tala dessert - super rich chocolate mousse which is my taste! If their mocktail menu is an indication of what their cocktails will be like - I can't wait to try them! On top of the outstanding food, the patio is lovely and the service is top notch! Felt like a fine dining experience without the pretentiousness. The staff was knowledgeable and attentive. Clean modern aesthetic. I loved the open kitchen and how everyone is actively involved in service. I went for brunch during restaurant week. It was a great menu a great value. Food was excellent. The hallumi with honey was simple and delicious. Pancakes were so, so good with fresh fruit and cream sauce. I had a veggie omelette that was flavorful and filling. And those potatoes. Yummy. However, there was definitely a blip in service as it took more than 15-20 for us to get appetizer after we placed our order. The waiter never came back to check on us and then we began to see other tables that arrived after us getting their entrees. Once we grabbed someone and made them aware, everything was quickly corrected. It was bustling so not sure anyone wld have noticed if we hadn't said anything. Thank goodness for Carlos! Originally I had reserved a table on a tuesday and about 4 days before our reservation for which we were celebrating a birthday, got a call informing us they decided they were no longer open on tuesdays (the day our reservation was for). They moved my reservation and offered a round of free drinks and desert for the inconvenience. On the new date, we ordered a round of drinks, an appetizer and our food. We ordered the buratta and beets which was $16 - it was just that, chesse and beets. Not bad but also, perhaps not worth $16. My partner ordered the sea bass and risotto and I had the skirt stake and fingerling potatoes. Both were tasty and both were a bit small in portion (for the price). We asked for the check and expected our drinks to be taken off the check, but after we requested the check, they brought us a desert (not of our choosing or request) and two "drinks" which were also not of our choosing or request. I say "drinks" bc they came in small flutes which were about two sips a piece. Both were fine but not requested or wanted lol. We would've been happier with just the drinks taken off our ticket. The staff was friendly but for the price and the expectation of larger portions and compensation, overall it was "ok". Ambiance...it was a dimly lit room dinning room which again, was fine. Lastly, it's described as New American which might contribute to the burger and fries offered, but has influenced from the middle east, south america and latin america - which was fine! But also not what i think of when I just see "American" food. read more

Truly a hidden gem! Food - Service- Atmosphere were all fantastic. We started with great homemade margaritas, then heirloom tomatoes salad, which was served over homemade pesto. Absolutely delicious! We each got a different meal, skirt steak, skate fish, filet and salmon. When we thought it couldn't get any better- we had dessert! Wow- the flourless chocolate cake and key lime pie- amazing. Overall, this place is great. Gorgeous interior and also fantastic patio. Service was good overall. Our party of four had the tuna crudo tostada, roasted cauliflower, and halloumi cheese appetizers. I enjoyed them most in the reverse order I listed them. (In fairness, I am not a tuna lover, and all thee of my tablemates are and raved about the tostada.) Everyone loved their entrees: I had the prime allen brothers filet mignon, which was great. I am not a huge mushroom lover but for those who are huge mushroom lovers, you will lose your minds over the giant slice of mushroom served with your steak. For dessert, we had not one, not two, not three, but four desserts, which was both insane and delightful. The Josephine was by far the favorite, and in my opinion followed by the Sara, the Emilia, and the Lyla. I thought the bill was reasonable, if not just a tiny bit overpriced for BYOB. This place seems quite new - we walked in without a reservation and got a great table, and every dish that we ordered was great. The heirloom tomatoes are especially good, and so is the burrata with beets. Our waiter seemed a bit disappointed that we didn't order a main I definitely think I'll be back! Found this new spot on a whim and couldn't be happier that I did. Usually when you go to a nice meal there are a bunch of hits and one thing slacks - that wasn't the case here. Each dish was better than the last. If I had to pick highlights, the tuna crudo tostada and the delicata squash. Our server was kind, funny, and energetic, and everyone else was very attentive to our table. Another highlight? We never felt rushed. Each course came out by itself, allowing us the time to actually enjoy each bite, rather than feeling all over the place. We also had the chance to chat with the owner toward the end of our meal, and he was beyond kind. It's still a new restaurant and he's clearly working hard to become an Andersonville staple. I moved to Chicago about 5 months ago and this is easily one of the best restaurants I've been to since my move! read more

Amazing,again! We came back and brought a friend as it's the perfect place to share and be together. The food was so delicious. This time, I had the ahi tuna entree which was the best I've ever tasted. Our friend and my husband had the sea bass which they loved. We tried the elote which was fabulous, and also ordered the haloumi with blueberries and roasted cauliflower as we knew they were great. Really enjoyed my dinner here. The back patio is very quaint and shady, seems like this space and the back room are the more popular seating zones. Got the verano Peligroso mocktail which was fabulous and refreshing. We shared guacamole appetizer and all agreed the chips had an excellent salt ratio on them. Guacamole was also so easy to eat and tasty. I got the salmon which was cooked perfectly, had nice crispy edges and a tasty glaze. Next time I'd order a side of fries or cauliflower with it - needs a carb. My friends for ahi tuna and each loved it. We didn't get dessert but they came around with a nice tray showing them and they each looked scrumptious. Hate to write a bad review for a local restaurant but I've tried this place twice and I have to say something. I've had the same server twice and either he just doesn't like me or i keep catching him on bad days but he literally never checks in. I see him asking other people and servers to check on me or bring me something I asked him for. So that's not fun. Also the brunch is just weird, no breakfast meat of any kind, when I asked I was told that they don't do pork. Mmmmm kkk there are plenty of non pork options. Also my $20 cold omelette came with a dry piece of toast- when I asked for butter and jam I got looked at like I had two heads. Maybe it's because I'm a women who came in with her sleeping baby that I just don't get the same level as service as others who have written rave reviews.
