This visit we ordered the Vegan Valley Roll, Vegan California Roll, and Taiwan Rolls, and every dish was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It's not always easy to find a sushi restaurant with great vegan options, but Tama Sushi consistently delivers. To top it all off, we had the banana tempura with coconut ice cream for dessert, and it was the perfect ending to an amazing meal. A Vegan Sushi Spot Worth Trying Indoor and outdoor seating, a chill atmosphere, and--best of all--they have a complete separate vegan menu, too! The prices are surprisingly reasonable, too. The staff is super friendly and attentive, and they definitely check in to make sure everything is good. We did notice a few fruit flies around the indoor seating area and mentioned it to the staff, so that's something to keep an eye on. If you're a non-vegan, I'd totally recommend stepping outside your comfort zone and trying a vegan option--or at least a vegan roll. You might be surprised at how good it is! I really wanted to like this place but I just couldn't :/ I've been dying to try new sushi spots that have a good variety of vegan dishes. I saw this place on instagram and wanted to try it because I was in the area. Mangolada: the presentation of this roll was beautiful but for the taste it really wasn't for me. The "tuna" that it was topped with felt like it was marinated for too long or the flavors were just too strong. It was just a super off balance with the roll, I ended having to eat the roll without the "tuna" but the roll itself was decent just like a regular tuna roll but the fresh mango on top was a great choice, it was perfectly ripe. I really wish I could've enjoyed this roll as a whole. Taiga Roll: this was was overly sour for some reason, the topped fried "scallop" was either marinated with an overly sour sauce or just drizzled with a sauce but it was too much for me. That same sauce was also on the roll and it was just not the best to eat. I feel like I would've really loved this roll if it was paired with a different sauce, because the roll itself tasted like it was very fresh with the spring mix it had. Spicy edamame: my whole order was made through the phone and when I got there it was barely being packaged, so I'm not sure if the dish wasn't made right or if it's better to be eaten right when it comes out but the edamame was honestly dry in a way and was really missing sauce. I felt like it wasn't like a usual spicy edamame I've tried at other places, it wasn't as spicy or buttery. Baked salmon: my boyfriend tried this dish and he rated it a 7/10. It didn't come with spicy mayo that usually comes with it like at other places and the sauce it came with on the side was not a good choice for the roll. He ended up getting one of the other sauces that my rolls came with. Overall, I'm not sure if we stepped out of our comfort zone so maybe that's why we didn't enjoy our experience there or if it just wasn't up our expectations from the hype we saw on instagram. read more

Vegan heaven!! They have an entire vegan menu of not just sushi but all kinds of other apps and entrees. We went for the sushi and tried the vegan delux crunchy, v 911, magic mountain and japones. The deluxe crunchy was our favvv so so good. I enjoyed the v 911 too as it had a nice kick. The magic mountain and japones were alright. I'd probably try something else in place of those next time but i can appreciate how much variety and interesting vegan sushi they have. This sushi spot saved me through my pregnancy! Their vegan options are amazing, I never once felt like I was missing out. After I had my baby, we kept coming back so I could finally try the fish sushi, and it did not disappoint. The staff is wonderful and so helpful whenever I have questions. I lived in LA for a long time and was spoiled by the Vegan Sushi (example: Shojin) So when I moved to OC I've been on the hunt for a solid Vegan option. It's not an all vegan Japanese restaurant but they have a large Vegan menu and it did not let me down. The line and wait time took about 30 min and I was starving so I was getting beyond hangry. The long wait shows how good this spot is but I could have done without it haha! I love Udon Vegetable Tempura and it's really hard to find a vegan option let alone one this good. The broth was rich with ginger and garlic. The noodles had the perfect chew, the Sushi I tried that my brother got was amazing as well. Hubby liked the freshness and size of his six salmon sushi, and he later ordered the gyoza which seemed to be freshly made and fried. He liked his green tea too. Service was perfect: attentive but not overwhelming. My server took her time walking me through the entire vegan menu. I ordered three rolls: Cute Wrap... bright veggies and wrapped in crisp cucumber. Sauce was light, but very deep in flavor and there's seaweed in the roll which is the perfect touch. Squid Game was bomb! Konjac is the squid... this role is next level and so fun! The combo of the sauces was exquisite! The baked LB was not my fav, plain water chestnuts on top of a veggie roll. Unfortunately, a few quality control issues held it back from being great. Chicken Karaage: 4/10 This was a big disappointment. It would've been an easy 8.5/10, but I found a shrimp shell buried in the middle of the roll (not just a visible tail-- an actual hidden shell). That kind of slip-up knocks it down a bit.
