    Tamal chile con queso

I think expectations were higher for a business that's been around for that many years selling just tamales. I had the pork and the chile con queso. They were both average flavor. The pork needed a bit more seasoning. 3.5/5 The raja one definitely needed more flavor, I added the green salsa they have which made up that missing flavor. 3/5 Overall they are ok.

The most delicious tamales I've ever had on this side of the border. The salsas are really good too!!

Big fan of this place! I haven't had tamales too many times, but I could tell that these were really good. My friend who lives in San Diego agreed! When you're that close to the border, they've got to be good! The meat had a great texture and I loved the flavor of the masa. The shop was pretty small and located in a strip mall. It's definitely more of a takeout spot, so don't plan on hanging around there for too long. We ended up eating our tamales in a park, which I highly recommend, because they can be a bit messy. There was only one woman working there, but she was very sweet and packed up our tamales nicely. Highly recommend if you're looking for a chill tamales experience!

One of the best tamales that I've ever had. So many types of tamale. Service is excellent. Someone is always there to help you and give you stuff asap when you ask. The place is small, but clean and makes you feel cozy. Most of the time, people come to buy for togo. It's pretty busy. Since it opens in the morning, people keep coming in and out to buy a lot of tamales.

    Bean AND CHEESE tamale.

First and last time going to this place ! I got their contact from a family member as I was in search of BEANS only tamales. I called the restaurant and asked if they sell beans ONLY tamales. They tell me yes and that they have 7 left. I ask if they can hold them for me and I would be there in 15 minutes. I arrive to the restaurant and tell the man I was the one who called about the bean tamales. Before paying I SPECIFICALLY asked if it was beans ONLY on the tamales because I do not eat any animal products ,meaning no meat or dairy !!! The man said YES ! So I paid almost 30$ for 7 tamales and they all had CHEESE !!! I'm so upset because I noticed after already taking a bite. I had to check them all to see if they all had cheese and they all had cheese! I called the restaurant to let them know i had been given bean AND cheese tamales and the women who answered basically said " o well we can't do anything about it ".

I call these "massales" not Tamales!

I've been coming here for years. The tamales was always full of meat, and the salsa was the icing on the cake! But they have been slowly loosing their way. I recently bought 2 dozen of pork tamales on March 1st because they were out of Beef. The tamales was a little under cooked, and basically ALL masa! They also changed the salsa a few back, but it was still good. Not as good, but still fairly good. After this last purchase which was $70 for 2 dozen, they just lost a life long customer. I'm not paying all the money just for under cooked masa.

Good but kind of dirty and run down. Taste was good on the tamale but the vibe of the whole place wasn't my favorite

We also took home some baked goods. It's so hard to find gluten-free French toast and baked goods that are actually good, and these were UNBELIEVABLE. You would never guess they were gluten-free. The vibe was cute and laid back and the service incredible. Despite the fact that it was very busy, the food came out really quickly. They also have a young man who plays jazz piano there every Sunday, so the ambiance is pretty awesome along with the nice weather. I also had a matcha ginger thyme latte with oat milk which was just tasty since ginger is a rare flavor in coffee drinks. I loved it, and it was so good that I took an extra one home. The service is amazing, and on busy days you may have to wait a bit, but it's worth it. If you have any questions about a dish, don't hesitate to ask!

The toppings and overall build of the pizzas were okay, but the crust had a distinctly bitter aftertaste that felt a bit off. * Second & Third Visit (The Coffee Window): According to their pinned Instagram post, the window is open from 7:30 AM to 11:00 AM. However, when I arrived at 10:30 AM in mid May, it was already closed. I tried one last time June 11 at 7:30 AM and again the coffee window was closed! Very disappointing when you make the trip specifically for the coffee! I love supporting small businesses, but consistency with both the food quality and the posted operating hours would definitely make for a better experience.

It hardly had any of the main ingrediates that go into authentic Tostilocos. The tiny chopped cucumbers were mushy and warped; had a tiny amount of chopped jicama; no chamoy sauce and it was saturated with overly spiced (too hot) red bottled chili. The round corn tortilla chips were not the TOSTITOS brand. They use their own round corn tortilla chips that don't have the salsa verde flavor. Pork rinds tasted like lard, and there was about four small Tamarindo candies and some Japanese nuts. Their Tostilocos lack flavor. Price was $10.99. According to the receipt, that's the price for a "small" order of Tostilocos. Good thing my husband didn't buy a larger order. (I tried to post picture of receipt, but it wouldn't take.)
