Solid. Best Indian food in Durham or Chapel Hill, in my opinion. Very consistent as well. Always get the Chana Masala, Palak Paneer and Tandoori Chicken along with Samosa and Naan. Loved the butter chicken! The butter naan and rice were also well made and delicious. Ordered the palak paneer, which was good, but not great. I ordered medium for the chicken and spinach dishes, though I like spice a lot and would order a little spicier next time. Finally, the portions were generous and the location was so easy to access. Decent Indian food. Palak Paneer was good but could have been better. We got the chili naan which was VERY spicy and basically inedible. I'm Indian and love spicy food but this was over the top and just not good. Garlic naan was decent. read more

Indian food is my favorite and this is probably the best Indian place I've tried in the area. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious. The waiter gave great recommendations and everything tasted fresh, hot and delicious- even for takeout! For appetizers I've ordered the vegetarian samosas and the samosa chat. Both are fantastic (hot and crispy!) For entres I've had the tarka dal, dal makhni, butter chicken and chicken tiki masala. The portions are generous and with one order of curry, I can have dinner and save the leftovers for two more meals! The naan is yummy too. Garlic is my favorite. Based on the food I would give a higher rating, but had a bad experience. We stopped by there on a Tuesday night and sat outside in their patio. The only other patron was also sitting outside. I ordered cauliflower and potatoes not spicy - but somehow had an allergic reaction. According to my husbands, I went limp and stopped breathing. He thought I was choking so he tried the heimlech without any luck. The patrons next to us called 911. I was fine and we paid the bill and left. YES - we were charged for our food and no one in the restaurant ever came out to help or call 911 understand Covid concerns but find it surprising that we didn't receive any help from the restaurant. read more

This place is solid and, with the exception of Vimala's, beats any other competition in Chapel Hill or Durham *except* for Thali which is my favorite of all. There really are no cons to speak of. The place is spotless (I mean, spotless), beautifully decorated, and service is great. There is a wide variety of both vegetarian and non-veg options, gluten-free choices, and tons of rich flavor. We especially liked the curried fish - hot damn it was good. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that a few items are better at Thali, including the Tandoori chicken. We went for takeout during the stay at home order and were very surprised and pleased. The food had a lot of flavor and was spicy. It was the first time I had Indian food in Durham that actually was not bland. I would definitely go back again! (You can order the level of spice that you like). The naan was very crispy. Definitely one of the best Indian restaurants I've had because they use a good amount of flavorful spices, their spiciest level was super spicy, and they didn't use much if any cream. We loved this place and have been ordering food for delivery from them almost weekly in the past year and a half. The last deliveries were late. Today, we waited for almost two hours and the delivery had not arrived yet. We called the restaurant and they only said that the driver wasn't there. Apparently the driver went to the restaurant, the order wasn't ready and the driver left. We had to contact grubhub to get another driver. Our food was delivered after two hours and a half, it was cold, and nothing extra was offered to us. Moreover, the restaurant increased its already expensive prices.
