Driving from Northern California to Los Angeles on Highway 5, my expectations for road food are always low. Most available options outside the few large cities are fast food, and the few that aren't are far from standout in the culinary landscape. On this drive heading south, we noticed several signs along the freeway for Tandoori Flame. An Indian restaurant in the middle of nowhere? We googled for reviews, and found lots of people saying good things. They were right! The butter chicken was excellent, and the chicken tikka was tender and tasty. Everything was fresh. The service was friendly and attentive. Much more than I would expect from any restaurant attached to a gas station. We stopped at this business on the way from Sacramento to Los Angeles. The restaurant is attached to the Arco Gas Station. There was not much business inside, but there was an amazing amount of food choices. Each dish we ordered was a good quantity and tasted amazing. read more

This place is amazing. Hard to believe it when you see the freeway signs that this could be such a great place. Especially when you see it attached to an AMPM. But it is. The food is cooked fresh with incredible flavor. Good cuts of chicken. The vegetable samosas could have been a meal all By themselves. The service was great as well. We had real plates, glass cups and silverware. You order at the counter- but our meal was served to us and the man kept checking on us to see how we were doing. It was also served appropriately- where our appetizers came first and then the meal. I hope that timing on future road trips will bring us back:) read more

This was so so good. Fresh, made to order, and healthy! Hubby, baby, and I started our 4 hour drive complaining about our dining options along the I5. We had to stop for gas near Paterson and had settled on eating gnarly roadside fast food when my eyes saw the word "Tandoori" flash across Google maps. It is new, clean, and was the perfect spot to get baby out. We had a couple of curries, rice, and nan and loved it. They adjusted the spices to our particular tastes (me- medium, Hubs-hot!) and staff clearly take pride in what they are serving. While we were there the place was busy with both customers eating in and people picking up food. I take this road often and I know I will be back! read more

The thing I didn't like was that plate I order is already made different, not sure if they didn't get there shipment delivery but I was disappointed especially because it's pricey.
