This would be our first time staying at the Bahia Resort in San Diego and so convenient to have this establishment that offering cocktails and food. Full menu to choose a variety of foods or simply have a nice refreshing drink as you lay by the bay. Today we went with the hummus plate, which included crushed olives and veggies. The plate was a perfect size for two, and the tastes of the hummus combined with the lime infused crush olives was amazing! The pita was nicely toasted to scoop up some tasty hummus. The blue jito drink was so refreshing and unique. The mix included the usual mojito mix with crushed blueberries. The blueberries really took the drink over the top. Visited 6/22/2018 Stopped in for a cocktail before the 9:30pm evening entertainment Bay cruise. Very nice cafe - Bar with a nice patio as well as indoor bar. Live music on Saturday evenings inside. 3 1/2 Stars. The servers were nice but sadly the bartender was extremely slow. Each drink order took a minimum of 15 minutes to get. Not the servers fault. Thank goodness they weren't busy 2 Stars. The drinks were very small, weak and the prices were abnormally high. A shot of tequila was about half of what you get anywhere else when you order a shot. Less than 1 Star. All in all because of the lack of bar service and overpriced tiny drinks I can only give this place a 2 1/2 To 3 Star rating. Sorry but I won't be returning. read more

Note: This review is on everything but food as we never ordered any food here. Strictly to hang out with a few drinks. Ambiance: Pretty cozy like environment. Not too loud not much going on. Then again, it was a late Sunday night. Service: Our waitress was amazing. Came to check on us a thousand times and making jokes. She gave us a pub mix to snack on with our drinks that were on the house. Which is cool. Drinks: Pretty costly but they put a descent amount of alcohol in it and for it being super convenient as it was literally on hotel grounds so no one has to worry about drinking and driving, i guess it makes up for it. Best part is, you can buy ur drink and bring it back to your hotel room which was a real plus. Downfall was our lemondrop drinks tasted more like margarita. The mai tai wasn't too bad though but could be better Will totally come back IF i ever stay at this hotel again which I'm not too sure about. And thats another review. read more

Delicious French fries and a very enjoyable fig and pear flatbread. Cocktails were nothing special- lychee mostly tasted like fruit juice, mango margarita relied on the salt to make it. Staff was helpful and nice, there was a cute duck. read more

The drinks, service, and atmosphere at Tangier Bar was really nice. It was a relaxing and calm place (at least in the late afternoon). They also have live music some evenings and probably could get quite exciting. read more

We came in right after checking in late to the hotel. Though service was a bit slow (she was the only one serving 4 tables and it was the end of the night), the waitress was very nice. Food was not so fabulous. We ordered the Fish Tacos, Warm Crab & Artichoke Dip and BLT&T. The fish tacos were tasty though my friend thought the fish itself smelled funky and possibly spoiled. The warm crab & artichoke dip was hot but too cheesy for my taste. Not very much artichoke was apparent and they used artificial crab. Which isn't bad, just too much of the dip would make me sick. The BLT&T was not warm though it was clearly grilled with a panini press. The bacon inside the sandwich was extremely hard and dried out. I thought it was edible. read more

We visited the Bahia from NYC for a friend's wedding and capped off every evening with Karly at the Tangier bar. Totally decent food and wine, however the super friendly and attentive staff put it over the top and made it a great experience each time. Karly remembered our names / drinks of choice and was always so friendly. Her hospitality really contributed to our vacation. So fun!! read more

Cool old school hotel dive bar, has not changed much in 35 years. Watch a Padres game, have a beer, eat the complimentary bowl of mixed snack crackers and pretzels, don't expect too much from this place and be nice to the bar staff and they will be nice to you too. Never a bad experience here. Even if you're not a guest at the hotel stop by when cruising the board walk and get away from the mission beach crowd and relax and watch a ball game on the tube. Being a local sometimes you take for granted what you have available to you. You forget the awesome things that are around your area. Case in point the Bahia hotel. Been here for as long as I can remember but never explored this hotel. Not until I stayed here for a Valentine's Day weekend getaway with the wife that we frequented the hotel's bar, the Tangier Bar. It was early morning when we walked in. There wasn't a soul inside but a bartendar cleaning glasses. So far our stay was a excellent one with the hotel staff being very service friendly. The bartendar was no different. Great service. Granted we were the only ones there but great service just the same. So I am off work, sitting and watching ESPN, drinking a screwdriver with my girl at a local hotel bar in Mission Beach. I am in heaven. Since then we have been there a second time. This time we just hit the bar. If you like ceviche. You should try it cause it's awesome. Comes served with hot tortilla chips. On the menu are drinks and appetizers but my wife asked if she could get a bagel with cream cheese. The bartendar said sure and was happy to get it. Again, good service. A nice hotel bar to have a drink early in the morning. This is also a endorsement for the hotel. A point of interest is the two local rescued seals that they have on the premises. It's cool to see the seals play around in a large man made pool. Who needs Sea World? If you stay on the north or east side of the hotel you have a nice view of the bay. Just come here because it's a nice place to stay. read more

Ah, a grey goose martini after a long day on my feet! I have been to this bar twice. It's not one I normally think about going to, but both times were a result of being at the Bahia for some other event, but it's a pretty nice little lounge. My martini was good, and the wine pours are on the generous side, or maybe that was just our server taking care of us because we had to wait for our appetizers. We had the shrimp cocktail which was fine, and the crab cake was huge. Not spectacular but good. I was starved after working a trade show all day and this hit the spot! read more

Super snotty, female, blond bartender at the bar. She wouldn't wait on me because she was too busy flirting with all the guys. When she finally did wait on me, she acted like it was a huge chore for her. She also over charged me for my drinks! I had called before I went down to the bar for the specials. The call rolled back to the hotel operator 5 times, until the operator had to call and transfer me. When I got there, it wasn't busy. I suppose she is too good to answer the phone! Drink prices are not bad for a "resort hotel" - $8.75 for Ketel. The food is decent. The mini sliders are good. The fried basket is also good, but they give you some weird, cold marinara. Ah, the Tangier Bar.....home to fried foods and strong drink! Each year in the fall I make my way to the hotel that plays host to this bar...and naturally, I make a few visits. While my mother-in-law had a very bad experience here (The waitress broke a glass on their table, got shards all over everyone, and did not apologies), my experience has been just fine. Don't come here expecting great things...your level of expectations should be lower than that! Still, it's convenient and it works. read more

The food was ok but this review is bad for the service. The service was horrible walked in and ordered a drink and two waters we got one water with no ice that was warm. Several times the server walked by the table and did not being more water finally after asking for another water the service brought another water however she did not bother filling the first what a shame this is the number one rule in a restaurant. read more

Our group of five went for happy hour last night, and ended up disappointed with the non-posted, higher-than-expected happy hour pricing. Typically, when a bar has just a few apps on happy hour special, one expects that they're significantly discounted; and at the Tangier, they were last summer. Now you get two fish tacos - no beans or salad or even a few chips - for the rock bottom price of nine dollars! This was a discount of only one or two dollars and all of the apps were similarly priced. The food was OK and the service was fine, but advertising this as special happy hour pricing is a bit misleading. At a minimum, they need to post the food prices. We were not happy and will likely not return. read more
